Non-equilibrium dissipative stabilization of s- and d-wave superconductivity

Stabilizing superconductivity beyond its equilibrium regime has been one of the quests of nonequilibrium state engineering. We report the presence of nonthermal pairing gap in BCS superconductors coupled to two thermal baths, where one of the baths can be at a temperature well above the equilibrium $T_c$. Superconducting state is enabled by a highly non-equilibrium steady state stabilized by weak coupling to baths that break detailed balance condition. The steady-state is well described by a generalized Gibbs ensemble parametrized with chemical potentials for associated Bogoliubov quasiparticle. A strong, non-perturbative effect is reported for both $s$-wave and $d$-wave superconductors, and its possible realization in cavity-based experiments is discussed.

Analytical Theory for Anomalous Diffusion in the Anderson Model with Heavy Tails

We develop an analytical theory of anomalous transport in a noninteracting Anderson model with heavy-tailed hopping amplitudes. The broad distribution of hopping amplitudes gives rise to an extended intermediate-time regime with a subdiffusive effective exponent, despite the absence of interactions or genuine many-body effects. By solving the transport equations analytically, we derive the time dependence of the mean-square displacement and identify a continuous crossover from an intermediate anomalous regime to asymptotically diffusive transport. As the localization transition is approached, the spatial extent of the subdiffusive window diverges parametrically, while the crossover to conventional diffusion remains finite in units of $\Gamma_0^{-1}$. This produces an increasingly broad anomalous transport regime in space that can closely resemble Griffiths-type transport observed near the many-body localization transition. Our results demonstrate that rare hopping processes alone provide a microscopic single-particle mechanism for robust transport anomalies, establishing an analytical benchmark for distinguishing interaction-induced effects from disorder-driven dynamics.

Thermalisation as Diffusion in Hilbert Space

We develop a microscopic theory of thermalisation for a thermometer coupled to a many-body bath beyond standard Markovian and Fermi-golden-rule assumptions. By modeling interaction matrix elements in the non-interacting basis as independent random variables, we derive a diffusion-propagator expression for the reduced dynamics and show that relaxation is controlled by the distribution of interaction-induced level broadenings. The theory predicts a thermalisation timescale set by the inverse typical broadening and yields a non-Markovian generalization of global balance. Exact-diagonalization tests for heavy-tailed L{é}vy couplings, an all-to-all transverse-field Ising model, and the one-dimensional Imbrie model show good agreement with these predictions.

Hilbert space signatures of non-ergodic glassy dynamics

Disorder in quantum many-body systems can drive transitions between ergodic and non-ergodic phases, yet the nature--and even the existence--of these transitions remains intensely debated. Using a two-dimensional array of superconducting qubits, we study an interacting spin model at finite temperature in a disordered landscape, tracking dynamics both in real space and in Hilbert space. Over a broad disorder range, we observe an intermediate non-ergodic regime with glass-like characteristics: physical observables become broadly distributed and some, but not all, degrees of freedom are effectively frozen. The Hilbert-space return probability shows slow power-law decay, consistent with finite-temperature quantum glassiness. In the same regime, we detect the onset of a finite Edwards-Anderson order parameter and the disappearance of spin diffusion. By contrast, at lower disorder, spin transport persists with a nonzero diffusion coefficient. Our results show that there is a transition out of the ergodic phase in two-dimensional systems.

Density of states correlations in L\'evy Rosenzweig-Porter model via supersymmetry approach

We studied global density-of-states correlation function $R(\omega)$ for L\'evy-Rosenzweig-Porter random matrix ensemble in the non-ergodic extended phase. Using an extension of Efetov's supersymmetry approach we calculated $R(\omega)$ exactly in all relevant ranges of $\omega$. At relatively low $\omega \leq \Gamma$\, (with $\Gamma \gg \Delta$ being the effective miniband width) we found GUE-type oscillations with period of level spacing $\Delta$, decaying exponentially at the Thouless energy scale $E_{Th} = \sqrt{\Delta \Gamma/2\pi}$. At high energies $\omega \gg E_{Th}$ our results coincide with those obtainen via cavity equation approach. Inverse of the effective miniband width, $1/\Gamma$, is shown to be given by the average of the local decay times over L\'evy distribution.
