Equilibrium fluctuations for a multi-species particle system with long jumps

In the present paper, we study the equilibrium fluctuations of a particle system in infinite volume with two conserved quantities and long-range dependence. More specifically, the model of interest is the so-called ABC model, in which three types of particles (A, B and C) exchange their locations between $x\in\mathbb{Z}$ and $x+z\in\mathbb{Z}$ at a rate that depends on the type of particles involved and is proportional to $|z|^{-\gamma-1}$ for $\gamma>0$. After rigorously identifying the normal modes associated to the conserved quantities (the density of particles of types $A$ and $B$, say), we prove that their fluctuations converge to independent fractional stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs), which are either Gaussian or the Stochastic Burgers equation, and whose nature is determined by the microscopic range of dependence and the strength of the asymmetry.

Discrete and Continuous Muttalib--Borodin Process: Large Deviations and Limit Shape Analysis

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behaviour of plane partitions distributed according to a $q^{\text{Volume}}$-weighted Muttalib--Borodin ensemble and its associated discrete point process. We establish a Large Deviation Principle for the process, explicitly characterizing the rate function. A defining feature of our model is the emergence of a strict upper bound on the macroscopic particle density, which translates the asymptotic analysis into a non-trivial constrained minimization problem. Through a rigorous Riemann--Hilbert analysis, we derive exact, closed-form formulas for the limit shape of the partitions across all parameter regimes. To the best of our knowledge, this represents the first time a constrained Riemann--Hilbert problem has been formulated and analytically solved for a bi-orthogonal ensemble. Our analysis allows to track the system through a macroscopic phase transition, computing the minimizer in both the subcritical and supercritical regimes. As a byproduct of our analysis, we obtain an explicit expression for the arctic curve that separates the ``frozen'' and ``liquid'' regions of the limit shape. Furthermore, we reveal that the equilibrium measure exhibits a continuously varying exponent at the hard edge departing from the universal fixed exponents typically observed in classical random matrix theory.

From ABC to KPZ

We study the equilibrium fluctuations of an interacting particle system evolving on the discrete ring with $N\in\mathbb N$ points, denoted by $\mathbb T_N$, and with three species of particles that we name $A,B$ and $C$, but such that at each site there is only one particle. We prove that proper choices of density fluctuation fields (that match those from nonlinear fluctuating hydrodynamics theory) associated to the (two) conserved quantities converge, in the limit $N\to\infty$, to a system of stochastic partial differential equations, that can either be the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck equation or the Stochastic Burgers equation. To understand the cross interaction between the two conserved quantities, we derive a general version of the Riemann-Lebesgue lemma which is of independent interest.

Hydrodynamics for the ABC model with slow/fast boundary

In this article, we consider the ABC model in contact with slow/fast reservoirs. In this model, there is at most one particle per site, which can be of type $α\in\{A,B,C\}$ and particles exchange positions in the discrete set of points $\{1,\cdots, N-1\}$ with a weakly asymmetric rate that depends on the type of particles involved in the exchange mechanism. At the boundary points $x=1, N-1$ particles can be injected or removed with a rate that depends on the type of particles involved. We prove that the hydrodynamic limit, in the diffusive time scale, is given by a system of non-linear coupled equation with several boundary conditions, that depend on the strength of the reservoir's action.

Time-time covariance for last passage percolation in half-space

This article studies several properties of the half-space last passage percolation, in particular the two-time covariance. We show that, when the two end-points are at small macroscopic distance, then the first order correction to the covariance for the point-to-point model is the same as the one of the stationary model. In order to obtain the result, we first derive comparison inequalities of the last passage increments for different models. This is used to prove tightness of the point-to-point process as well as localization of the geodesics. Unlike for the full-space case, for half-space we have to overcome the difficulty that the point-to-point model in half-space with generic start and end points is not known.

Peaks of cylindric plane partitions

We study the asymptotic distribution, as the volume parameter goes to 1, of the peak (largest part) of finite- or slowly-growing-width cylindric plane partitions weighted by their trace, seam, and volume. There are two natural asymptotic regimes depending on the trace/seam parameters, and in both cases we obtain asymptotics governed by finite temperature (periodic) analogues of the Bessel and Airy gap probabilities from random matrix theory. In particular, the distributions we obtain interpolate \emph{in more than one way} between two well-known extremal value distributions: the Gumbel distribution of maxima of iid random variables and the Tracy--Widom distribution of maxima of eigenvalues of random Hermitian matrices. We also interpret our results in terms of last passage percolation on a cylinder, which yields to interesting connections to the Kardar--Parisi--Zhang equation.

The half-space Airy stat process

We study the multipoint distribution of stationary half-space last passage percolation with exponentially weighted times. We derive both finite-size and asymptotic results for this distribution. In the latter case we observe a new one-parameter process we call half-space Airy stat. It is a one-parameter generalization of the Airy stat process of Baik-Ferrari-Péché, which is recovered far away from the diagonal. All these results extend the one-point results previously proven by the authors.

Stationary half-space last passage percolation

In this paper we study stationary last passage percolation (LPP) in half-space geometry. We determine the limiting distribution of the last passage time in a critical window close to the origin. The result is a new two-parameter family of distributions: one parameter for the strength of the diagonal bounding the half-space (strength of the source at the origin in the equivalent TASEP language) and the other for the distance of the point of observation from the origin. It should be compared with the one-parameter family giving the Baik--Rains distributions for full-space geometry. We finally show that far enough away from the characteristic line, our distributions indeed converge to the Baik--Rains family. We derive our results using a related integrable model having Pfaffian structure together with careful analytic continuation and steepest descent analysis.

Muttalib--Borodin plane partitions and the hard edge of random matrix ensembles

We study probabilistic and combinatorial aspects of natural volume-and-trace weighted plane partitions and their continuous analogues. We prove asymptotic limit laws for the largest parts of these ensembles in terms of new and known hard- and soft-edge distributions of random matrix theory. As a corollary we obtain an asymptotic transition between Gumbel and Tracy--Widom GUE fluctuations for the largest part of such plane partitions, with the continuous Bessel kernel providing the interpolation. We interpret our results in terms of two natural models of directed last passage percolation (LPP): a discrete $(\max, +)$ infinite-geometry model with rapidly decaying geometric weights, and a continuous $(\min, \cdot)$ model with power weights.

On energy solutions to stochastic Burgers equation

In this review we discuss the weak KPZ universality conjecture for a class of 1-d systems whose dynamics conserves one or more quantities. As a prototype example for the former case, we will focus on weakly asymmetric simple exclusion processes, for which the density is preserved and the equilibrium fluctuations are shown to cross from the Edwards-Wilkinson universality class to the KPZ universality class. The crossover depends on the strength of the asymmetry. For the latter case, we will present an exclusion process with three species of particles, known as the ABC model, for which we aim to prove the convergence to a system of coupled stochastic Burgers' equations, i.e. gradient versions of coupled KPZ equations. We will review the recent results on this matter around the notion of energy solutions introduced in [26] for which uniqueness has been proved in [35].

Discrete and continuous Muttalib--Borodin processes I: the hard edge

In this note we study a natural measure on plane partitions giving rise to a certain discrete-time Muttalib-Borodin process (MBP): each time-slice is a discrete version of a Muttalib-Borodin ensemble (MBE). The process is determinantal with explicit time-dependent correlation kernel. Moreover, in the $q \to 1$ limit, it converges to a continuous Jacobi-like MBP with Muttalib-Borodin marginals supported on the unit interval. This continuous process is also determinantal with explicit correlation kernel. We study its hard-edge scaling limit (around 0) to obtain a discrete-time-dependent generalization of the classical continuous Bessel kernel of random matrix theory (and, in fact, of the Meijer $G$-kernel as well). We lastly discuss two related applications: random sampling from such processes, and their interpretations as models of directed last passage percolation (LPP). In doing so, we introduce a corner growth model naturally associated to Jacobi processes, a version of which is the "usual" corner growth of Forrester-Rains in logarithmic coordinates. The aforementioned hard edge limits for our MBPs lead to interesting asymptotics for these LPP models. In particular, a special cases of our LPP asymptotics give rise (via the random matrix Bessel kernel and following Johansson's lead) to an extremal statistics distribution interpolating between the Tracy-Widom GUE and the Gumbel distributions.

Time-time covariance for last passage percolation with generic initial profile

We consider time correlation for KPZ growth in 1+1 dimensions in a neighborhood of a characteristics. We prove convergence of the covariance with droplet, flat and stationary initial profile. In particular, this provides a rigorous proof of the exact formula of the covariance for the stationary case obtained in [SIGMA 12 (2016), 074]. Furthermore, we prove the universality of the first order correction when the two observation times are close and provide a rigorous bound of the error term. This result holds also for random initial profiles which are not necessarily stationary.

Universality of the GOE Tracy-Widom distribution for TASEP with arbitrary particle density

We consider TASEP in continuous time with non-random initial conditions and arbitrary fixed density of particles rho. We show GOE Tracy-Widom universality of the one-point fluctuations of the associated height function. The result phrased in last passage percolation language is the universality for the point-to-line problem where the line has an arbitrary slope.
