Ontolearn-A Framework for Large-scale OWL Class Expression Learning in Python

In this paper, we present Ontolearn-a framework for learning OWL class expressions over large knowledge graphs. Ontolearn contains efficient implementations of recent stateof-the-art symbolic and neuro-symbolic class expression learners including EvoLearner and DRILL. A learned OWL class expression can be used to classify instances in the knowledge graph. Furthermore, Ontolearn integrates a verbalization module based on an LLM to translate complex OWL class expressions into natural language sentences. By mapping OWL class expressions into respective SPARQL queries, Ontolearn can be easily used to operate over a remote triplestore. The source code of Ontolearn is available at https://github.com/dice-group/Ontolearn.

Native Execution of GraphQL Queries over RDF Graphs Using Multi-way Joins

Purpose: The query language GraphQL has gained significant traction in recent years. In particular, it has recently gained the attention of the semantic web and graph database communities and is now often used as a means to query knowledge graphs. Most of the storage solutions that support GraphQL rely on a translation layer to map the said language to another query language that they support natively, for example SPARQL. Methodology: Our main innovation is a multi-way left-join algorithm inspired by worst-case optimal multi-way join algorithms. This novel algorithm enables the native execution of GraphQL queries over RDF knowledge graphs. We evaluate our approach in two settings using the LinGBM benchmark generator. Findings: The experimental results suggest that our solution outperforms the state-of-the-art graph storage solution for GraphQL with respect to both query runtimes and scalability. Value: Our solution is implemented in an open-sourced triple store, and is intended to advance the development of representation-agnostic storage solutions for knowledge graphs.

Expeditious Generation of Knowledge Graph Embeddings

Knowledge Graph Embedding methods aim at representing entities and relations in a knowledge base as points or vectors in a continuous vector space. Several approaches using embeddings have shown promising results on tasks such as link prediction, entity recommendation, question answering, and triplet classification. However, only a few methods can compute low-dimensional embeddings of very large knowledge bases without needing state-of-the-art computational resources. In this paper, we propose KG2Vec, a simple and fast approach to Knowledge Graph Embedding based on the skip-gram model. Instead of using a predefined scoring function, we learn it relying on Long Short-Term Memories. We show that our embeddings achieve results comparable with the most scalable approaches on knowledge graph completion as well as on a new metric. Yet, KG2Vec can embed large graphs in lesser time by processing more than 250 million triples in less than 7 hours on common hardware.
