Recovery of a quarkonium system from experimental data

For confining potentials of the form q(r)=r+p(r), where p(r) decays rapidly and is smooth for r>0, it is proved that q(r) can be uniquely recovered from the data {E_j,s_j}, where E_j are the bound states energies and s_j are the values of u'_j(0), and u_j(r) are the normalized eigenfunctions of the problem -u_j" +q(r)u_j=E_ju_j, r>0, u_j(0)=0, ||u_j||=1, where the norm is L^2(0, \infty) norm. An algorithm is given for recovery of p(r) from few experimental data.

Stability Estimate in Scattering Theory and Its Application to Mesoscopic Systems and Quantum Chaos

We consider scattering of a free quantum particle on a singular potential with rather arbitrary shape of the support of the potential. In the classical limit $\hbar=0$ this problem reduces to the well known problem of chaotic scattering. The universal estimates for the stability of the scattering amplitudes are derived. The application of the obtained results to the mesoscopic systems and quantum chaos are discussed. We also discuss a possibility of experimental verification of the obtained results.

Singularities of the Radon transform

Singularities of the Radon transform of a piecewise smooth function $f(x)$, $x\in R^n$, $n\geq 2$, are calculated. If the singularities of the Radon transform are known, then the equations of the surfaces of discontinuity of $f(x)$ are calculated by applying the Legendre transform to the functions, which appear in the equations of the discontinuity surfaces of the Radon transform of $f(x)$; examples are given. Numerical aspects of the problem of finding discontinuities of $f(x)$, given the discontinuities of its Radon transform, are discussed.
