Localized upper bounds of heat kernels for diffusions via a multiple Dynkin-Hunt formula

We prove that for a general diffusion process, certain assumptions on its behavior \emph{only within a fixed open subset} of the state space imply the existence and sub-Gaussian type off-diagonal upper bounds of the \emph{global} heat kernel on the fixed open set. The proof is mostly probabilistic and is based on a seemingly new formula, which we call a \emph{multiple Dynkin-Hunt formula}, expressing the transition function of a Hunt process in terms of that of the part process on a given open subset. This result has an application to heat kernel analysis for the \emph{Liouville Brownian motion}, the canonical diffusion in a certain random geometry of the plane induced by a (massive) Gaussian free field.

Isotropic Markov semigroups on ultra-metric spaces

Let (X,d) be a locally compact separable ultra-metric space. Given a reference measure μ on X and a step length distribution on the non-negative reals, we construct a symmetric Markov semigroup P^t acting in L^2(X,μ). We study the corresponding Markov process. We obtain upper and lower bounds of its transition density and its Green function, give a transience criterion, estimate its moments and describe the Markov generator and its spectrum, which is pure point. In the particular case when X is the field of p-adic numbers, our construction recovers fractional derivative and the Taibleson Laplacian (spectral multiplier), and we can also apply our theory to the study of the Vladimirov Laplacian which is closely related to the concept of p-adic Quantum Mechanics. Even in this well established setting, several of our results are new. We also elaborate the relation between our processes and Kigami's jump processes on the boundary of a tree which are induced by a random walk. In conclusion, we provide examples illustrating the interplay between the fractional derivatives and random walks.

Homotopy theory for digraphs

We introduce a homotopy theory of digraphs (directed graphs) and prove its basic properties, including the relations to the homology theory of digraphs constructed by the authors in previous papers. In particular, we prove the homotopy invariance of homologies of digraphs and the relation between the fundamental group of the digraph and its first homology group. The category of (undirected) graphs can be identified by a natural way with a full subcategory of digraphs. Thus we obtain also consistent homology and homotopy theories for graphs. Note that the homotopy theory for graphs coincides with the one constructed in the paper of Babson et.

Homologies of path complexes and digraphs

In this paper we introduce a path complex that can be regarded as a generalization of the notion of a simplicial complex. The main motivation for considering path complexes comes from directed graphs(digraphs). We obtain a new notion of the path homology and cohomology of a digraph.

Heat kernel estimates for an operator with a singular drift and isoperimetric inequalities

We prove upper and lower bounds of the heat kernel for the operator $Δ-\nabla (\frac{1}{|x|^α})\cdot \nabla $ in $\mathbb{R}^{n}\setminus\{0} $ where $α>0$. We obtain these bounds from an isoperimetric inequality for a measure $\mathrm{e}^{-\frac{1}{|x|^α}}dx$ on $\mathbb{R}^{n}\setminus \{0\}$. The latter amounts to a certain functional isoperimetric inequality for the radial part of this measure.
