Classifiers are Better Experts for Controllable Text Generation

This paper proposes a simple method for controllable text generation based on weighting logits with a free-form classifier, namely CAIF sampling. Using an arbitrary text classifier, we adjust a small part of a language model's logits and guide text generation towards or away from classifier prediction. We experimented with toxicity avoidance and sentiment control tasks and showed that the proposed method significantly outperforms recent PPLM, GeDi, and DExperts on PPL and task accuracy metrics based on the external classifier of generated texts. In addition, compared to other approaches, it is easier to implement and tune and has significantly fewer restrictions and requirements.

Variational Autoencoders for Precoding Matrices with High Spectral Efficiency

Neural networks are used for channel decoding, channel detection, channel evaluation, and resource management in multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems. In this paper, we consider the problem of finding precoding matrices with high spectral efficiency (SE) using variational autoencoder (VAE). We propose a computationally efficient algorithm for sampling precoding matrices with minimal loss of quality compared to the optimal precoding. In addition to VAE, we use the conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE) to build a unified generative model. Both of these methods are able to reconstruct the distribution of precoding matrices of high SE by sampling latent variables. This distribution obtained using VAE and CVAE methods is described in the literature for the first time.

Cyber bonds and their pricing models

Motivated by the developments in cyber risk treatment in the finance industry, we propose a general framework of cyber bond, whose main purpose is to insure (compensate) losses of a cyber attack. Based on a database of publicly available cyber events, we determine cyber loss distribution parameters and use them to numerically simulate cyber bond price, yield, and other characteristics. We also consider two possible approaches to cyber bond coupon calculation.
