Supersymmetric W-algebras

We develop a general theory of $W$-algebras in the context of supersymmetric vertex algebras. We describe the structure of $W$-algebras associated with odd nilpotent elements of Lie superalgebras in terms of their free generating sets. As an application, we produce explicit free generators of the $W$-algebra associated with the odd principal nilpotent element of the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(n+1|n).$

Higher order Hamiltonians for the trigonometric Gaudin model

We consider the trigonometric classical $r$-matrix for $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ and the associated quantum Gaudin model. We produce higher Hamiltonians in an explicit form by applying the limit $q\to 1$ to elements of the Bethe subalgebra for the $XXZ$ model.

Center of the quantum affine vertex algebra in type A

We consider the quantum vertex algebra associated with the double Yangian in type A as defined by Etingof and Kazhdan. We show that its center is a commutative associative algebra and construct algebraically independent families of topological generators of the center at the critical level.

Explicit generators in rectangular affine W-algebras of type A

We produce in an explicit form free generators of the affine W-algebra of type A associated with a nilpotent matrix whose Jordan blocks are of the same size. This includes the principal nilpotent case and we thus recover the quantum Miura transformation of Fateev and Lukyanov.

Higher Sugawara operators for the quantum affine algebras of type A

We give explicit formulas for the elements of the center of the completed quantum affine algebra in type $A$ at the critical level which are associated with the fundamental representations. We calculate the images of these elements under a Harish-Chandra-type homomorphism. These images coincide with those in the free field realization of the quantum affine algebra and reproduce generators of the $q$-deformed classical $W$-algebra of Frenkel and Reshetikhin.

Representations of centrally extended Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{psl}(2|2)$

The symmetries provided by representations of the centrally extended Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{psl}(2|2)$ are known to play an important role in the spin chain models originated in the planar anti-de Sitter/conformal field theory correspondence and one-dimensional Hubbard model. We give a complete description of finite-dimensional irreducible representations of this superalgebra thus extending the work of Beisert which deals with a generic family of representations. Our description includes a new class of modules with degenerate eigenvalues of the central elements. Moreover, we construct explicit bases in all irreducible representations by applying the techniques of Mickelsson--Zhelobenko algebras.

Quantization of the shift of argument subalgebras in type A

Given a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and an element $μ\in\mathfrak{g}^*$, the corresponding shift of argument subalgebra of $\text{S}(\mathfrak{g})$ is Poisson commutative. In the case where $μ$ is regular, this subalgebra is known to admit a quantization, that is, it can be lifted to a commutative subalgebra of $\text{U}(\mathfrak{g})$. We show that if $\mathfrak{g}$ is of type $A$, then this property extends to arbitrary $μ$, thus proving a conjecture of Feigin, Frenkel and Toledano Laredo. The proof relies on an explicit construction of generators of the center of the affine vertex algebra at the critical level.

A categorical approach to classical and quantum Schur-Weyl duality

We use category theory to propose a unified approach to the Schur-Weyl dualities involving the general linear Lie algebras, their polynomial extensions and associated quantum deformations. We define multiplicative sequences of algebras exemplified by the sequence of group algebras of the symmetric groups and use them to introduce associated monoidal categories. Universal properties of these categories lead to uniform constructions of the Drinfeld functor connecting representation theories of the degenerate affine Hecke algebras and the Yangians and of its q-analogue. Moreover, we construct actions of these categories on certain (infinitesimal) braided categories containing a Hecke object.

Representations of twisted q-Yangians

The twisted q-Yangians are coideal subalgebras of the quantum affine algebra associated with gl(N). We prove a classification theorem for finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the twisted q-Yangians associated with the symplectic Lie algebras sp(2n). The representations are parameterized by their highest weights or by their Drinfeld polynomials. In the simplest case of sp(2) we give an explicit description of all the representations as tensor products of evaluation modules. We prove analogues of the Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt theorem for the quantum affine algebra and for the twisted q-Yangians. We also reproduce a proof of the classification theorem for finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the quantum affine algebra by relying on its R-matrix presentation.

Gelfand-Kirillov Conjecture and Harish-Chandra Modules for Finite W-Algebras

We address two problems regarding the structure and representation theory of finite W-algebras associated with the general linear Lie algebras. Finite W-algebras can be defined either via the Whittaker model of Kostant or, equivalently, by the quantum Hamiltonian reduction. Our first main result is a proof of the Gelfand-Kirillov conjecture for the skew fields of fractions of the finite W-algebras. The second main result is a parametrization of finite families of irreducible Harish-Chandra modules by the characters of the Gelfand-Tsetlin subalgebra. As a corollary, we obtain a complete classification of generic irreducible Harish-Chandra modules for the finite W-algebras.

Differential equations in vertex algebras and simple modules for the Lie algebra of vector fields on a torus

We study irreducible representations for the Lie algebra of vector fields on a 2-dimensional torus constructed using the generalized Verma modules. We show that for a certain choice of parameters these representations remain irreducible when restricted to a loop subalgebra in the Lie algebra of vector fields. We prove this result by studying vertex algebras associated with the Lie algebra of vector fields on a torus and solving non-commutative differential equations that we derive using the vertex algebra technique.

Harish-Chandra modules for Yangians

We study Harish-Chandra representations of Yangian for gl(2). We prove an analogue of Kostant theorem showing that resterited Yangians for gl(2) are free modules over certain maximal commutative subalgebras. We also study the categories of generic Harish-Chandra modules, describe their simple modules and indecomposable modules in tame blocks.

Capelli Identities for Classical Lie Algebras

We extend the Capelli identities (1890) from the Lie algebra $gl_N$ to the other two classical Lie algebras $so_N$ and $sp_N$. We employ the theory of reductive dual pairs due to Howe. Our technique comes from the representation theory of Yangians.

A Basis for Representations of Symplectic Lie Algebras

A basis for each finite-dimensional irreducible representation of the symplectic Lie algebra sp(2n) is constructed. The basis vectors are expressed in terms of the Mickelsson lowering operators. Explicit formulas for the matrix elements of generators of sp(2n) in this basis are given. The basis is natural from the viewpoint of the representation theory of the Yangians. The key role in the construction is played by the fact that the subspace of sp(2n-2)-highest vectors in any finite-dimensional irreducible representation of sp(2n) admits a natural structure of a representation of the Yangian Y(gl(2)).

Centralizer construction for twisted Yangians

For each of the classical Lie algebras $g(n)=o(2n+1), sp(2n), o(2n)$ of type B, C, D we consider the centralizer of the subalgebra $g(n-m)$ in the universal enveloping algebra $U(g(n))$. We show that the $n$th centralizer algebra can be naturally projected onto the $(n-1)$th one, so that one can form the projective limit of the centralizer algebras as $n\to\infty$ with $m$ fixed. The main result of the paper is a precise description of this limit (or stable) centralizer algebra, denoted by $A_m$. We explicitly construct an algebra isomorphism $A_m=Z\otimes Y_m$, where $Z$ is a commutative algebra and $Y_m$ is the so-called twisted Yangian associated to the rank $m$ classical Lie algebra of type B, C, or D. The algebra $Z$ may be viewed as the algebra of virtual Laplace operators; it is isomorphic to the algebra of polynomials with countably many indeterminates. The twisted Yangian $Y_m$ (and hence the algebra $A_m$) can be described in terms of a system of generators with quadratic and linear defining relations which are conveniently presented in R-matrix form involving the so-called reflection equation. This extends the earlier work on the type A case by the second author.

Finite-dimensional irreducible representations of twisted Yangians

We study quantized enveloping algebras called twisted Yangians. They are analogues of the Yangian Y(gl(N)) for the classical Lie algebras of B, C, and D series. The twisted Yangians are subalgebras in Y(gl(N)) and coideals with respect to the coproduct in Y(gl(N)). We give a complete description of their finite-dimensional irreducible representations. Every such representation is highest weight and we give necessary and sufficient conditions for an irreducible highest weight representation to be finite-dimensional. The result is analogous to Drinfeld's theorem for the ordinary Yangians. Its detailed proof for the A series is also reproduced. For the simplest twisted Yangians we construct an explicit realization for each finite-dimensional irreducible representation in tensor products of representations of the corresponding Lie algebras.
