On regularity of weighted Sobolev homeomorphisms

We study the weak regularity of mappings inverse to weighted Sobolev homeomorphisms $φ:Ω\to\widetildeΩ$, where $Ω$ and $\widetildeΩ$ are domains in $\mathbb R^n$. Using the weak regularity of inverse mappings we obtain the composition duality property of composition operators on weighted Sobolev spaces.

Composition operators on Sobolev spaces, $Q$-mappings and weighted Sobolev inequalities

In this paper we give connections between mappings which generate bounded composition operators on Sobolev spaces and $Q$-mappings. On this base we obtain measure distortion properties $Q$-homeomorphisms. Using the composition operators on Sobolev spaces we obtain weighted Sobolev inequalities with special weights which are Jacobians of $Q$-mappings.

Composition operators on Sobolev spaces and Ball's classes

In this paper we study geometric aspects of Ball's classes in the context of nonlinear elasticity problems. The suggested approach is based on the characterization of Ball's classes $A_{q,q'}(Ω)$ in terms of composition operators on Sobolev spaces. This characterization allows us to obtain the volume compression (distortion) estimates of topological mappings of Ball's classes. We prove also that Sobolev homeomorphisms of Ball's classes which possess the Luzin $N$-property are absolutely continuous with respect to capacity.

Principal frequencies of free non-homogeneous membranes and Sobolev extension operators

Using the quasiconformal mappings theory and Sobolev extension operators, we obtain estimates of principal frequencies of free non-homogeneous membranes. The suggested approach is based on connections between divergence form elliptic operators and quasiconformal mappings. Free non-homogeneous membranes we consider as circular membranes in the quasiconformal geometry associated with non-homogeneity of membranes. As a consequence we get a connection between principal frequencies of free membranes and the smallest-circle problem (initially suggested by J.~J. Sylvester in 1857).

Composition operators on Sobolev spaces and weighted moduli inequalities

In this paper we study connections between composition operators on Sobolev spaces and mappings defined by $p$-moduli inequalities ($p$-capacity inequalities). We prove that weighted moduli inequalities lead to composition operators on corresponding Sobolev spaces and inverse, composition operators on Sobolev spaces imply weighted moduli inequalities.

Singular subelliptic equations and Sobolev inequalities on nilpotent Lie groups

In this article we study singular subelliptic $p$-Laplace equations and best constants in Sobolev inequalities on nilpotent Lie groups. We prove solvability of these subelliptic $p$-Laplace equations and existence of the minimizer of the corresponding variational problem. It leads to existence of the best constant in the corresponding $(q,p)$-Sobolev inequality, $0<q<1$, $1<p<ν$.

On Lipschitz approximations in second order Sobolev spaces and the change of variables formula

In this paper we study approximations of functions of Sobolev spaces $W^2_{p,\loc}(Ω)$, $Ω\subset\mathbb R^n$, by Lipschitz continuous functions. We prove that if $f\in W^2_{p,\loc}(Ω)$, $1\leq p<\infty$, then there exists a sequence of closed sets $\{A_k\}_{k=1}^{\infty},A_k\subset A_{k+1}\subset Ω$, such that the restrictions $f \vert_{A_k}$ are Lipschitz continuous functions and $\cp_p\left(S\right)=0$, $S=Ω\setminus\bigcup_{k=1}^{\infty}A_k$. Using these approximations we prove the change of variables formula in the Lebesgue integral for mappings of Sobolev spaces $W^2_{p,\loc}(Ω;\mathbb R^n)$ with the Luzin capacity-measure $N$-property.

Mixed local and nonlocal Sobolev inequalities with extremal and associated quasilinear singular elliptic problems

In this article, we consider mixed local and nonlocal Sobolev $(q,p)$-inequalities with extremal in the case $0<q<1<p<\infty$. We prove that the extremal of such inequalities is unique up to a multiplicative constant that is associated with a singular elliptic problem involving the mixed local and nonlocal $p$-Laplace operator. Moreover, it is proved that the mixed Sobolev inequalities are necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of weak solutions of such singular problems. As a consequence, a relation between the singular $p$-Laplace and mixed local and nonlocal $p$-Laplace equation is established. Finally, we investigate the existence, uniqueness, regularity and symmetry properties of weak solutions for such problems.

Extension operators on Sobolev spaces with decreasing integrability

We study extension operators on Sobolev spaces with decreasing integrability on the base of set functions associated with the operator norms. Sharp necessary conditions in the terms of the generalized density condition and the terms of weak equivalence of Euclidean and intrinsic metrics are given.

Estimates of Dirichlet eigenvalues of divergent elliptic operators in non-Lipschitz domains

We study spectral estimates of the divergence form uniform elliptic operators $-\textrm{div}[A(z) \nabla f(z)]$ with the Dirichlet boundary condition in bounded non-Lipschitz simply connected domains $Ω\subset \mathbb C$. The suggested method is based on the quasiconformal composition operators on Sobolev spaces with applications to the weighted Poincaré-Sobolev inequalities.

Space quasiconformal composition operators with applications to Neumann eigenvalues

In this article we obtain estimates of Neumann eigenvalues of $p$-Laplace operators in a large class of space domains satisfying quasihyperbolic boundary conditions. The suggested method is based on composition operators generated by quasiconformal mappings and their applications to Sobolev-Poincaré-inequalities. By using a sharp version of the inverse Hölder inequality we refine our estimates for quasi-balls, that is, images of balls under quasiconformal mappings of the whole space.

Quasiconformal Mappings and Neumann Eigenvalues of Divergent Elliptic Operators

We study spectral properties of divergence form elliptic operators $-\textrm{div} [A(z) \nabla f(z)]$ with the Neumann boundary condition in planar domains (including some fractal type domains), that satisfy to the quasihyperbolic boundary conditions. Our method is based on an interplay between quasiconformal mappings, elliptic operators and composition operators on Sobolev spaces.

Sobolev mappings and moduli inequalities on Carnot groups

In the article we study mappings of Carnot groups satisfy moduli inequalities. We prove that homeomorphisms satisfy the moduli inequalities ($Q$-homeomor\-phisms) with a locally integrable function $Q$ are Sobolev mappings. On this base in the frameworks of the weak inverse mapping theorem we prove that mappings inverse to Sobolev homeomorphisms of finite distortion of the class $W^1_{ν,\text{loc}}(Ω;Ω')$ belong to the Sobolev class $W^1_{1,\text{loc}}(Ω';Ω)$.

Spectral Stability Estimates of Neumann Divergence Form Elliptic Operators

We study spectral stability estimates of elliptic operators in divergence form $-\textrm{div} [A(w) \nabla g(w)]$ with the Neumann boundary condition in non-Lipschitz domains $Ω\subset \mathbb C$. The suggested method is based on connections of planar quasiconformal mappings with Sobolev spaces and its applications to the Poincaré inequalities.
