Stability analysis of the $(1+1)$-dimensional Nambu-Goto action gas models

The aim of this paper is to perform a nonlinear stability analysis of the $(1+1)$-dimensional Nambu-Goto action gas models. The energy-Casimir method is employed to discuss in detail the Lyapunov stability of the Chaplygin and Born-Infeld models. Particular solutions are considered and their stability is studied in order to illustrate the application of our results.

On the Integrability of Supersymmetric Versions of the Structural Equations for Conformally Parametrized Surfaces

The paper presents the bosonic and fermionic supersymmetric extensions of the structural equations describing conformally parametrized surfaces immersed in a Grasmann superspace, based on the authors' earlier results. A detailed analysis of the symmetry properties of both the classical and supersymmetric versions of the Gauss-Weingarten equations is performed. A supersymmetric generalization of the conjecture establishing the necessary conditions for a system to be integrable in the sense of soliton theory is formulated and illustrated by the examples of supersymmetric versions of the sine-Gordon equation and the Gauss-Codazzi equations.

Links between different analytic descriptions of constant mean curvature surfaces

Transformations between different analytic descriptions of constant mean curvature (CMC) surfaces are established. In particular, it is demonstrated that the system \[ \begin{split} &\partial ψ_{1} = (|ψ_{1}|^{2} + |ψ_{2}|^{2}) ψ_{2} \\ &\bar{\partial} ψ_{2} =- (|ψ_{1}|^{2} + |ψ_{2}|^{2}) ψ_{1} \end{split} \] descriptive of CMC surfaces within the framework of the generalized Weierstrass representation, decouples into a direct sum of the elliptic Sh-Gordon and Laplace equations. Connections of this system with the sigma model equations are established. It is pointed out, that the instanton solutions correspond to different Weierstrass parametrizations of the standard sphere $S^{2} \subset E^{3}$.

On certain classes of solutions of the Weierstrass-Enneper system inducing constant mean curvature surfaces

Analysis of the generalized Weierstrass-Enneper system includes the estimation of the degree of indeterminancy of the general analytic solution and the discussion of the boundary value problem. Several different procedures for constructing certain classes of solutions to this system, including potential, harmonic and separable types of solutions, are proposed. A technique for reduction of the Weierstrass-Enneper system to decoupled linear equations, by subjecting it to certain differential constraints, is presented as well. New elementary and doubly periodic solutions are found, among them kinks, bumps and multi-soliton solutions.
