Strong solutions of SDE's with rough coefficients

We give a proof of the strong existence and the regularity of stochastic differential equations driven by a Brownian motion and a measurable, Markovian drift without no regularity hypothesis except that the Girsanov exponential associated is in some L^{1+ε}(μ) for some fixed ε>0 by using the techniques which are totally novel originating from the abstract Wiener space, in particular the solution is an H-C-regular map in the sense of the theory of Leonard Gross.

Variational characterization of the regularity of Monge-Brenier maps

On an abstract Wiener space, assume that T is the solution of the quadratic Monge problem associated to the Wiener measure and a second one with a Radon-Nikodym derivative of exponential type. Under the finite information hypothesis, using a variational method, we prove that T minimizes a certain functional originating from the large deviations theory. Applying a variational method a la Euler, we obtain the Sobolev regularity of the backward Monge-Brenier map. A similar result also holds for the forward Monge-Brenier map.

Entropic Solution of the Innovation Conjecture of T. Kailath

On a general filtered probability space, for a given signal $U_t=B_t+\int_0^t\dot{u}_sds$, we prove that the filtration of $U$ is equal to the filtration of its innovation process $Z$ if and only if $$ H(Z(ν)|μ)=\half E_ν[\int_0^1|E_P[\dot{u}_s|\calU_s]|^2ds] $$ where $dν=\exp(-\int_0^1 E_P[\dot{u}_s|\calU_s]dZ_s-\half \int_0^1|E_P[\dot{u}_s|\calU_s]|^2 ds)dP$ in case the density has expectation one, otherwies we give a localized version of the same strength with a sequence of stopping times of the filtration of $U$.

Hedging Portfolio for a Degenerate Market Model

We consider a semimartingale market model when the underlying diffusion has a singular volatility matrix and compute the hedging portfolio for a given payoff function. Recently, the representation problem for such degenerate diffusions with respect to a minimal martingale has been completely settled. This martingale representation and Malliavin calculus established further for the functionals of a degenerate diffusion process constitute the basis of the present work. Using the Clark-Hausmann-Bismut-Ocone type representation formula derived for these functionals, we prove a version of this formula under an equivalent martingale measure. This allows us to derive the hedging portfolio as a solution of a system of linear equations. The uniqueness of the solution is achieved by a projection idea that lies at the core of the martingale representation at the first place. We demonstrate the hedging strategy as explicitly as possible with some examples of the payoff function such as those used in exotic options, whose value at maturity depends on the prices over the entire time horizon.

Variational Calculation of Laplace transforms via Entropy on Wiener Space and some Applications

Let $(W,H,μ)$ be the classical Wiener space where $H$ is the Cameron-Martin space which consists of the primitives of the elements of $L^2([0,1],\,dt)\otimes \R^d$, we denote by $L^2_a(μ,H)$ the equivalence classes w.r.t. $dt\times dμ$ whose Lebesgue densities $s\to\dot{u}(s,w)$ are almost surely adapted to the canonical Brownian filtration. If $f$ is a Wiener functional s.t. $\frac{1}{E[e^{-f}]}e^{-f}dμ$ is of finite relative entropy w.r.t. $μ$, we prove that \beaa J_\star&=& \inf\left(E_μ\left[f\circ U+\half |u|_H^2\right]: u\in L_a^2(μ,H)\right)\\ &\geq&-\log E_μ[e^{-f}]=\inf\left(\int_W fd\ga+H(\ga|μ):\,ν\in P(W)\right) \eeaa where $P(W)$ is the set of probability measures on $(W,\calB(W))$ and $H(\ga|μ)$ is the relative entropy of $\ga$ w.r.t. $μ$. We call $f$ a tamed functional if the inequality above can be replaced with equality, we characterize the class of tamed functionals, which is much larger than the set of essentially bounded Wiener functionals. We show that for a tamed functional the minimization problem of l.h.s. has a solution $u_0$ if and only if $U_0=I_W+u_0$ is almost surely invertible and $$ \frac{dU_0μ}{dμ}=\frac{e^{-f}}{E_μ[e^{-f}]} $$ and then $u_0$ is unique. To do this is we prove the theorem which says that the relative entropy of $U_0μ$ is equal to the energy of $u_0$ if and only if it has a $μ$-a.s. left inverse. We use these results to prove the strong existence of the solutions of stochastic differentail equations with singular (functional) drifts and also to prove the non-existence of strong solutions of some stochastic differential equations. \noindent {\sl Keywords:} Invertibility, entropy, Girsanov theorem, variational calculus, Malliavin calculus, large deviations

Sufficient Conditions for the Invertibility of Adapted Perturbations of Identity on the Wiener Space

Let $(W,H,μ)$ be the classical Wiener space. Assume that $U=I_W+u$ is an adapted perturbation of identity, i.e., $u:W\to H$ is adapted to the canonical filtration of $W$. We give some sufficient analytic conditions on $u$ which imply the invertibility of the map $U$. In particular it is shown that if $u\in \DD_{p,1}(H)$ is adapted and if $\exp({1/2}\|\nabla u\|_2^2-δu)\in L^q(μ)$, where $p^{-1}+q^{-1}=1$, then $I_W+u$ is almost surely invertible. As a consequence, if, there exists an integer $k\geq 1$ such that $\|\nabla^k u\|_{H^{\otimes(k+1)}}\in L^\infty(μ)$, then $I_W+u$ is again almost surely invertible.
