Classification results for expanding and shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons

We first show that a Kähler cone appears as the tangent cone of a complete expanding gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton with quadratic curvature decay with derivatives if and only if it has a smooth canonical model (on which the soliton lives). This allows us to classify two-dimensional complete expanding gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons with quadratic curvature decay with derivatives. We then show that any two-dimensional complete shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton whose scalar curvature tends to zero at infinity is, up to pullback by an element of $GL(2,\,\mathbb{C})$, either the flat Gaussian shrinking soliton on $\mathbb{C}^{2}$ or the $U(2)$-invariant shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton of Feldman-Ilmanen-Knopf on the blowup of $\mathbb{C}^{2}$ at one point. Finally, we show that up to pullback by an element of $GL(n,\,\mathbb{C})$, the only complete shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton with bounded Ricci curvature on $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ is the flat Gaussian shrinking soliton and on the total space of $\mathcal{O}(-k)\to\mathbb{P}^{n-1}$ for $0<k<n$ is the $U(n)$-invariant example of Feldman-Ilmanen-Knopf. In the course of the proof, we establish the uniqueness of the soliton vector field of a complete shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton with bounded Ricci curvature in the Lie algebra of a torus. A key tool used to achieve this result is the Duistermaat-Heckman theorem from symplectic geometry. This provides the first step towards understanding the relationship between complete shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons and algebraic geometry.

A relative entropy for expanders of the Harmonic map flow

In this paper we focus on the uniqueness question for (expanding) solutions of the Harmonic map flow coming out of smooth 0-homogeneous maps with values into a closed Riemannian manifold. We introduce a relative entropy for two purposes. On the one hand, we prove the existence of two expanding solutions associated to any suitable solution coming out of a $0$-homogeneous map by a blow-up and a blow-down process. On the other hand, generic uniqueness of expanding solutions coming out of the same 0-homogeneous map of 0 relative entropy is proved.

Expanding Kähler-Ricci solitons coming out of Kähler cones

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for a Kähler equivariant resolution of a Kähler cone, with the resolution satisfying one of a number of auxiliary conditions, to admit a unique asymptotically conical (AC) expanding gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton. In particular, it follows that for any $n\in\mathbb{N}_{0}$ and for any negative line bundle $L$ over a compact Kähler manifold $D$, the total space of the vector bundle $L^{\oplus (n+1)}$ admits a unique AC expanding gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton with soliton vector field a positive multiple of the Euler vector field if and only if $c_{1}(K_{D}\otimes(L^{*})^{\otimes (n+1)})>0$. This generalises the examples already known in the literature. We further prove a general uniqueness result and show that the space of certain AC expanding gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons on $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ with positive curvature operator on $(1,\,1)$-forms is path-connected.

Unique continuation at infinity for conical Ricci expanders

We establish Carleman inequalities for the weighted laplacian associated to an expanding gradient Ricci soliton. As a consequence, a unique continuation at infinity is proved for asymptotically Ricci flat Ricci expanders. The obstruction at infinity is a symmetric 2-tensor defined on the link of the corresponding asymptotic cone.

Smoothing out positively curved metric cones by Ricci expanders

We investigate the possibility of desingularizing a positively curved metric cone by an expanding gradient Ricci soliton with positive curvature operator. This amounts to study the deformation of such geometric structures. As a consequence, we prove that the moduli space of conical positively curved gradient Ricci expanders is connected.

Asymptotic estimates and compactness of expanding gradient Ricci solitons

We first investigate the asymptotics of conical expanding gradient Ricci solitons by proving sharp decay rates to the asymptotic cone both in the generic and the asymptotically Ricci flat case. We then establish a compactness theorem concerning nonnegatively curved expanding gradient Ricci solitons.

Stability of non compact steady and expanding gradient Ricci solitons

We study the stability of non compact steady and expanding gradient Ricci solitons. We first show that strict linear stability implies dynamical stability. Then we give various sufficient geometric conditions ensuring the strict linear stability of such gradient Ricci solitons.

Rotational symmetry of non negatively curved expanding gradient Ricci solitons

Let $(M^n,g,\nabla f)$, $n\geq 3$, be an expanding gradient Ricci soliton with nonnegative sectional curvature whose asymptotic cone is isometric to $C(\mathbb{S}^{n-1}(c))$ where $\mathbb{S}^{n-1}(c)$ is the standard $(n-1)$-sphere of curvature $1/c^2$, with $c\in(0,1)$. We prove that if the convergence to the asymptotic cone is smooth, $(M^n,g,\nabla f)$ is rotationally symmetric. This is the expanding analogue of the Perelman conjecture on the Bryant soliton and this work is based on the proof by Brendle \cite{Bre-Rot-3d}. This has also been proved recently by Chodosh \cite{Cho-EGS}.

Structure at infinity of expanding gradient Ricci soliton

We study the geometry at infinity of expanding gradient Ricci solitons of dimension greater than two with finite asymptotic curvature ratio without curvature sign assumptions. We mainly prove that they have a cone structure at infinity.

Steady gradient soliton with curvature in L^1

We characterize complete nonnegatively curved steady gradient soliton with curvature in L^1. We show that there are isometric to a product (R^2,g_{cigar}) times(R^{n-2}, eucl))/Gamma where Gamma is a Bieberbach group of rank n-2. We prove also a similar local splitting result under weaker curvature assumptions.
