Managing Sets of Flying Base Stations Using Energy Efficient 3D Trajectory Planning in Cellular Networks

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in cellular networks have garnered considerable interest. One of their applications is as flying base stations (FBSs), which can increase coverage and quality of service (QoS). Because FBSs are battery-powered, regulating their energy usage is a vital aspect of their use; and therefore the appropriate placement and trajectories of FBSs throughout their operation are critical to overcoming this challenge. In this paper, we propose a method of solving a multi-FBS 3D trajectory problem that considers FBS energy consumption, operation time, flight distance limits, and inter-cell interference constraints. Our method is divided into two phases: FBS placement and FBS trajectory. In taking this approach, we break the problem into several snapshots. First, we find the minimum number of FBSs required and their proper 3D positions in each snapshot. Then, between every two snapshots, the trajectory phase is executed. The optimal path between the origin and destination of each FBS is determined during the trajectory phase by utilizing a proposed binary linear problem (BLP) model that considers FBS energy consumption and flight distance constraints. Then, the shortest path for each FBS is determined while taking obstacles and collision avoidance into consideration. The number of FBSs needed may vary between snapshots, so we present an FBS set management (FSM) technique to manage the set of FBSs and their power. The results demonstrate that the proposed approach is applicable to real-world situations and that the outcomes are consistent with expectations.

Joint position and trajectory optimization of flying base station in 5G cellular networks, based on users' current and predicted location

Nowadays, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been significantly improved, and one of their most important applications is to provide temporary coverage for cellular users. Static Base Station cannot service all users due to temporary crashes because of temporary events such as ground BS breakdowns, bad weather conditions, natural disasters, transmission errors, etc., drones equipped with small cellular BS. The Drone Base Station is immediately sent to the target location and establishes the necessary communication links without requiring any predetermined infrastructure and covers that area. Finding the optimal location and the appropriate number (DBS) of drone-BS in this area is a challenge. Therefore, in this paper, the optimal location and optimal number of DBSs are distributed in the current state of the users and the subsequent user states determined by the prediction. Finally, the DBS transition is optimized from the current state to the predicted future locations. The simulation results show that the proposed method can provide acceptable coverage on the network.

A blind robust watermarking method based on Arnold Cat map and amplified pseudo-noise strings with weak correlation

In this paper, a robust and blind watermarking method is proposed, which is highly resistant to the common image watermarking attacks, such as noises, compression, and image quality enhancement processing. In this method, Arnold Cat map is used as a pre-processing on the host image, which increases the security and imperceptibility of embedding watermark bits with a strong gain factor. Moreover, two pseudo-noise strings with weak correlation are used as the symbol of each 0 or 1 bit of the watermark, which increases the accuracy in detecting the state of watermark bits at extraction phase in comparison to using two random pseudo-noise strings. In this method, to increase the robustness and further imperceptibility of the embedding, the Arnold Cat mapped image is subjected to non-overlapping blocking, and then the high frequency coefficients of the approximation sub-band of the FDCuT transform are used as the embedding location for each block. Comparison of the proposed method with recent robust methods under the same experimental conditions indicates the superiority of the proposed method.

TRLG: Fragile blind quad watermarking for image tamper detection and recovery by providing compact digests with quality optimized using LWT and GA

In this paper, an efficient fragile blind quad watermarking scheme for image tamper detection and recovery based on lifting wavelet transform and genetic algorithm is proposed. TRLG generates four compact digests with super quality based on lifting wavelet transform and halftoning technique by distinguishing the types of image blocks. In other words, for each 2*2 non-overlap blocks, four chances for recovering destroyed blocks are considered. A special parameter estimation technique based on genetic algorithm is performed to improve and optimize the quality of digests and watermarked image. Furthermore, CCS map is used to determine the mapping block for embedding information, encrypting and confusing the embedded information. In order to improve the recovery rate, Mirror-aside and Partner-block are proposed. The experiments that have been conducted to evaluate the performance of TRLG proved the superiority in terms of quality of the watermarked and recovered image, tamper localization and security compared with state-of-the-art methods. The results indicate that the PSNR and SSIM of the watermarked image are about 46 dB and approximately one, respectively. Also, the mean of PSNR and SSIM of several recovered images which has been destroyed about 90% is reached to 24 dB and 0.86, respectively.
