Black Hole Remnants from Dynamical Dimensional Reduction?

A intriguing feature shared by many quantum gravity programs is the dynamical decrease of the spectral dimension from $D_s = 4$ at macroscopic to $D_s \approx 2$ at microscopic scales. In this note, we study the impact of this transition on the energy loss of static, spherically symmetric black holes due to Hawking radiation. We demonstrate that the decrease in the spectral dimension renders the luminosity of a black hole finite. While this slightly increases the life-time of light black holes, we find that this mechanism is insufficient to generate long-lived black hole remnants. We briefly comment on the relation of our findings to previous work on this topic.

Frames and Bases in Tensor Product of Hilbert Spaces

In this article we develop a theory for frames in tensor product of Hilbert spaces. We show that like bases if Y_1, Y_2, \cdot \cdot \cdot, Y_n are frames for H_1,H_2, \cdot \cdot \cdot, H_n, respectively, then Y_1\otimesY_2\otimes...\otimesY_n is a frame for H_\otimes1H_2\otimes \cdot \cdot \cdot \otimesH_n. Moreover we consider the canonical dual frame in tensor product space. We further obtain a relation between the dual frames in Hilbert spaces, and their tensor product.

Frames and bases in tensor products of Hilbert spaces and Hilbert C*-modules

In this article, we study tensor product of Hilbert $C^*$-modules and Hilbert spaces. We show that if $E$ is a Hilbert $A$-module and $F$ is a Hilbert $B$-module, then tensor product of frames (orthonormal bases) for $E$ and $F$ produce frames (orthonormal bases) for Hilbert $A\otimes B$-module $E\otimes F$, and we get more results. For Hilbert spaces $H$ and $K$, we study tensor product of frames of subspaces for $H$ and $K$, tensor product of resolutions of the identities of $H$ and $K$, and tensor product of frame representations for $H$ and $K$.
