On some quadratic algebras

We study some quadratic algebras which are appeared in the low-dimensional topology and Schubert calculus. We introduce the Jucys-Murphy elements in the braid algebra and in the pure braid group, as well as the Dunkl elements in the extended affine braid group. Relationships between the Dunkl elements, Dunkl operators and Jucys-Murphy elements are described.

Cauchy identities for universal Schubert polynomials

We prove the Cauchy type identities for the universal double Schubert polynomials, introduced recently by W. Fulton. As a corollary, the determinantal formulae for some specializations of the universal double Schubert polynomials corresponding to the Grassmannian permutations are obtained. We also introduce and study the universal Schur functions and multiparameter deformation of Schubert polynomials.

Quantum Schubert polynomials and quantum Schur functions

We introduce the quantum multi-Schur functions, quantum factorial Schur functions and quantum Macdonald polynomials. We prove that for restricted vexillary permutations the quantum double Schubert polynomial coincides with some quantum multi-Schur function and prove a quantum analog of the Nagelsbach-Kostka and Jacobi-Trudi formulae for the quantum double Schubert polynomials in the case of Grassmannian permutations. We prove, also, an analog of the Billey-Jockusch-Stanley formula for quantum Schubert polynomials. Finally we formulate two conjectures about the structure of quantum double and quantum Schubert polynomials for 321-avoiding permutations.

Quantum double Schubert polynomials, quantum Schubert polynomials and Vafa-Intriligator formula

We study the algebraic aspects of equivariant quantum cohomology algebra of the flag manifold. We introduce and study the quantum double Schubert polynomials, which are the Lascoux-Schutzenberger type representatives of the equivariant quantum cohomology classes. Our approach is based on the quantum Cauchy identity. We define also quantum Schubert polynomials as the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization of some set of monomials with respect to the scalar product, defined by the Grothendieck residue. Using quantum Cauchy identity, we prove that quantum Schubert polynomials are the specialization of quantum double Schubert polynomials with second set of variables equals to zero, and as a corollary obtain a simple formula for the quantum Schubert polynomials. We also prove the higher genus analog of Vafa-Intriligator's formula for the flag manifolds and study the quantum residues generating function. We introduce the extended Ehresman-Bruhat order on the symmetric group and formulate the equivariant quantum Pieri rule.

Quantum Grothendieck polynomials

We study the algebraic aspects of (small) quantum equivariant $K$-theory of flag manifold. Lascoux-Schützenberger's type formula for quantum double and quantum double dual Grothendieck polynomials and the quantum Cauchy identity for quantum Grothendieck polynomials are obtained.

Skew Young diagram method in spectral decomposition of integrable lattice models

The spectral decomposition of the path space of the vertex model associated to the vector representation of the quantized affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_n)$ is studied. We give a one-to-one correspondence between the spin configurations and the semi-standard tableaux of skew Young diagrams. As a result we obtain a formula of the characters for the degeneracy of the spectrum in terms of skew Schur functions. We conjecture that our result describes the $sl_n$-module contents of the Yangian $Y(sl_n)$-module structures of the level 1 integrable modules of the affine Lie algebra $\hat{sl}_n$. An analogous result is obtained also for a vertex model associated to the quantized twisted affine algebra $U_q(A^{(2)}_{2n})$, where $Y(B_n)$ characters appear for the degeneracy of the spectrum. The relation to the spectrum of the Haldane-Shastry and the Polychronakos models are also discussed.

Affine Hecke algebras and raising operators for Macdonald polynomials

We introduce certain raising and lowering operators for Macdonald polynomials (of type $A_{n-1}$) by means of Dunkl operators. The raising operators we discuss are a natural $q$-analogue of raising operators for Jack polynomials introduced by L.Lapointe and L.Vinet. As an application we prove the integrality of double Kostka coefficients. Double analog of the multinomial coefficients are introduced.

$q$-Difference raising operators for Macdonald polynomials and the integrality of transition coefficients

We study certain $q$-difference raising operators for Macdonald polynomials (of type $A_{n-1}$) which are originated from the $q$-difference-reflection operators introduced in our previous paper. These operators can be regarded as a $q$-difference version of the raising operators for Jack polynomials introduced by L.Lapointe and L.Vinet. As an application of our $q$-difference raising operators we give an elementary proof of the integrality of the double Kostka coefficients which had been conjectured I.G. Macdonald. We also determine their quasi-classical limits, which give rise to (differental) raising operators for Jack polynomials.

Dilogarithm identities

We study the dilogarithm identities from algebraic, analytic, asymptotic, $K$-theoretic, combinatorial and representation-theoretic points of view. We prove that a lot of dilogarithm identities (hypothetically all !) can be obtained by using the five-term relation only. Among those the Coxeter, Lewin, Loxton and Browkin ones are contained. Accessibility of Lewin's one variable and Ray's multivariable (here for $n\le 2$ only) functional equations is given. For odd levels the $\hat{sl_2}$ case of Kuniba-Nakanishi's dilogarithm conjecture is proven and additional results about remainder term are obtained. The connections between dilogarithm identities and Rogers-Ramanujan-Andrews-Gordon type partition identities via their asymptotic behavior are discussed. Some new results about the string functions for level $k$ vacuum representation of the affine Lie algebra $\hat{sl_n}$ are obtained. Connection between dilogarithm identities and algebraic $K$-theory (torsion in $K_3({\bf R})$) is discussed. Relations between crystal basis, branching functions $b_λ^{kΛ_0}(q)$ and Kostka-Foulkes polynomials (Lusztig's $q$-analog of weight multiplicity) are considered. The Melzer and Milne conjectures are proven. In some special cases we are proving that the branching functions $b_λ^{kΛ_0}(q)$ are equal to an appropriate limit of Kostka polynomials (the so-called Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz limit). Connection between "finite-dimensional part of crystal base" and Robinson-Schensted-Knuth correspondence is considered.

Completeness of Bethe's states for generalized $XXZ$ model

We study the Bethe ansatz equations for a generalized $XXZ$ model on a one-dimensional lattice. Assuming the string conjecture we propose an integer version for vacancy numbers and prove a combinatorial completeness of Bethe's states for a generalized $XXZ$ model. We find an exact form for inverse matrix related with vacancy numbers and compute its determinant. This inverse matrix has a tridiagonal form, generalizing the Cartan matrix of type $A$.

Universal exponential solution of the Yang-Baxter equation

Exponential solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation give rise to generalized Schubert polynomials and corresponding symmetric functions. We provide several descriptions of the local stationary algebra defined by this equation. This allows to construct various exponential solutions of the YBE. The $B_n$ and $G_2$ cases are also treated.

Combinatorial $B_n$-analogues of Schubert polynomials

Combinatorial $B_n$-analogues of Schubert polynomials and corresponding symmetric functions are constructed from an exponential solution of the $B_n$-Yang-Baxter equation that involves the nilCoxeter algebra of the hyperoctahedral group.

Generalization of the Gale-Ryser theorem

We prove an inequality for the Kostka-Foulkes polynomials $K_{λ,μ}(q)$. As a corollary, we obtain a nontrivial lower bound for the Kostka numbers and a new proof of the Berenstein-Zelevinsky weight-multiplicity-one-criterium.

Berenstein-Zelevinsky triangles, elementary couplings and fusion rules

We present a general scheme for describing su(N)_k fusion rules in terms of elementary couplings, using Berenstein-Zelevinsky triangles. A fusion coupling is characterized by its corresponding tensor product coupling (i.e. its Berenstein-Zelevinsky triangle) and the threshold level at which it first appears. We show that a closed expression for this threshold level is encoded in the Berenstein-Zelevinsky triangle and an explicit method to calculate it is presented. In this way a complete solution of su(4)_k fusion rules is obtained.
