Cosmological Problem Solution by Complex-Dynamical Interaction Analysis

Universe structure emerges in the unreduced, complex-dynamical interaction process with the simplest initial configuration (two attracting homogeneous fields). The unreduced interaction analysis avoiding any perturbative model gives intrinsically creative cosmology describing the real, explicitly emerging world structure with dynamic randomness at all levels. Without imposing any postulates or additional entities, we obtain physically real, three-dimensional space, irreversibly flowing time, elementary particles with their detailed structure and intrinsic properties, causally complete and unified version of quantum and relativistic behaviour, the origin and number of naturally unified fundamental forces, classical behaviour emergence in a closed system, and true quantum chaos. Major problems of standard cosmology and astrophysics are consistently solved in this extended picture, including those of quantum cosmology and gravity, entropy growth and time arrow, "hierarchy" of elementary particles (Planckian unit values), "anthropic" difficulties, Big Bang contradictions, and "missing" ("dark") mass and energy. Universality of the proposed theory is explicitly expressed by the symmetry (conservation and transformation) of dynamic complexity providing the unified, irregularly structured, but always exact (never "broken") Order of the World that underlies all universe structures, phenomena and laws.

Universal Science of Complexity: Consistent Understanding of Ecological, Living and Intelligent System Dynamics

A major challenge of interdisciplinary description of complex system behaviour is whether real systems of higher complexity levels can be understood with at least the same degree of objective, "scientific" rigour and universality as "simple" systems of classical, Newtonian science paradigm. The problem is reduced to that of arbitrary, many-body interaction (unsolved in standard theory). Here we review its causally complete solution, the ensuing concept of complexity and applications. The discovered key properties of dynamic multivaluedness and entanglement give rise to a qualitatively new kind of mathematical structure providing the exact version of real system behaviour. The extended mathematics of complexity contains the truly universal definition of dynamic complexity, randomness (chaoticity), classification of all possible dynamic regimes, and the unifying principle of any system dynamics and evolution, the universal symmetry of complexity. Every real system has a non-zero (and actually high) value of unreduced dynamic complexity determining, in particular, "mysterious" behaviour of quantum systems and relativistic effects causally explained now as unified manifestations of complex interaction dynamics. The observed differences between various systems are due to different regimes and levels of their unreduced dynamic complexity. We outline applications of universal concept of dynamic complexity emphasising cases of "truly complex" systems from higher complexity levels (ecological and living systems, brain operation, intelligence and consciousness, autonomic information and communication systems) and show that the urgently needed progress in social and intellectual structure of civilisation inevitably involves qualitative transition to unreduced complexity understanding (we call it "revolution of complexity").

Consistent Cosmology, Dynamic Relativity and Causal Quantum Mechanics as Unified Manifestations of the Symmetry of Complexity

The universal symmetry, or conservation, of complexity underlies any law or principle of system dynamics and describes the unceasing transformation of dynamic information into dynamic entropy as the unique way to conserve their sum, the total dynamic complexity. Here we describe the real world structure emergence and dynamics as manifestation of the universal symmetry of complexity of initially homogeneous interaction between two protofields. It provides the unified complex-dynamic, causally complete origin of physically real, 3D space, time, elementary particles, their properties (mass, charge, spin, etc.), quantum, relativistic, and classical behaviour, as well as fundamental interaction forces, including naturally quantized gravitation. The old and new cosmological problems (including "dark" mass and energy) are basically solved for this explicitly emerging, self-tuning world structure characterised by strictly positive (and large) energy-complexity. A general relation is obtained between the numbers of world dimensions and fundamental forces, excluding plausible existence of hidden dimensions. The unified, causally explained quantum, classical, and relativistic properties (and types of behaviour) are generalised to all higher levels of complex world dynamics. The real world structure, dynamics, and evolution are exactly reproduced by the probabilistic dynamical fractal, which is obtained as the truly complete general solution of a problem and the unique structure of the new mathematics of complexity. We outline particular, problem-solving applications of always exact, but irregularly structured symmetry of unreduced dynamic complexity to microworld dynamics, including particle physics, genuine quantum chaos, real nanobiotechnology, and reliable genomics.

Complex-Dynamic Origin of Consciousness and the Critical Choice of Sustainability Transition

A quite general interaction process of a multi-component system is analysed by the extended effective potential method liberated from usual limitations of perturbation theory or integrable model. The obtained causally complete solution of the many-body problem reveals the phenomenon of dynamic multivaluedness, or redundance, of emerging, incompatible system realisations and dynamic entanglement of system components within each realisation. The ensuing concept of dynamic complexity (and related intrinsic chaoticity) is absolutely universal and can be applied to the problem of (natural and artificial) intelligence and consciousness that dynamically emerge now as a high enough, properly specified levels of unreduced complexity of a suitable interaction process. Emergent consciousness can be identified with the appearance of bound, permanently localised states in the multivalued brain dynamics from strongly chaotic states of unconscious intelligence, by analogy with classical behaviour emergence from quantum states at the lowest levels of complex world dynamics. We show that the main properties of this dynamically emerging consciousness (and intelligence, at the preceding complexity level) correspond to empirically derived properties of natural consciousness and obtain causally substantiated conclusions about their artificial realisation, including the fundamentally justified paradigm of genuine machine consciousness. This rigorously defined machine consciousness is different from both natural consciousness and any mechanistic, dynamically single-valued imitation of the latter. We use then the same, truly universal concept of complexity to derive equally rigorous conclusions about mental and social implications of this complex-dynamic consciousness concept, demonstrating its critical importance for further progress of science and civilisation.

Complex-Dynamical Solution to the Many-Body Interaction Problem and Its Applications in Fundamental Physics

We review the recently proposed unreduced, complex-dynamical solution to the many-body problem with arbitrary interaction and its application to the unified solution of fundamental problems, including dynamic foundations of causally complete quantum mechanics, relativity, particle properties and cosmology. We first analyse the universal properties of this many-body problem solution without any perturbative reduction and show that the emerging new quality of fundamental dynamic multivaluedness (or redundance) of the resulting system configuration leads to the natural and universal concept of dynamic complexity, chaoticity and fractality of any real system behaviour. We then consider unified features of this complex dynamics. Applications of that universal description to systems at various complexity levels have been performed and in this paper we review those at the lowest, fundamental complexity levels leading to causal understanding of the unified origin of quantum mechanics, relativity (special and general), elementary particles, their intrinsic properties and interactions. One reveals, in particular, the complex-dynamic origin of inertial and gravitational (relativistic) mass without introduction of any additional particle species, fields or dimensions. Other practically important consequences and problem solutions in fundamental physics and cosmology are summarised, confirming the efficiency of that unified picture.

Complex Dynamics of Real Quantum, Classical and Hybrid Micro-Machines

Any real interaction process produces many incompatible system versions, or realisations, giving rise to omnipresent dynamic randomness and universally defined complexity (arXiv:physics/9806002). Since quantum behaviour dynamically emerges as the lowest complexity level (arXiv:quant-ph/9902016), quantum interaction randomness can only be relatively strong, which reveals the causal origin of quantum indeterminacy (arXiv:quant-ph/9511037) and true quantum chaos (arXiv:quant-ph/9511035), but rigorously excludes the possibility of unitary quantum computation, even in an "ideal", noiseless system. Any real computation is an internally chaotic (multivalued) process of system complexity development occurring in different regimes. Unitary quantum machines, including their postulated "magic", cannot be realised as such because their dynamically single-valued scheme is incompatible with the irreducibly high dynamic randomness at quantum complexity levels and should be replaced by explicitly chaotic, intrinsically creative machines already realised in living organisms and providing their quite different, realistic kind of magic. The related concepts of reality-based, complex-dynamical nanotechnology, biotechnology and intelligence are outlined, together with the ensuing change in research strategy. The unreduced, dynamically multivalued solution to the many-body problem reveals the true, complex-dynamical basis of solid-state dynamics, including the origin and internal dynamics of macroscopic quantum states. The critical, "end-of-science" state of unitary knowledge and the way to positive change are causally specified within the same, universal concept of complexity.

Dynamic Origin of Evolution and Social Transformation

We analyse the unreduced, nonperturbative dynamics of an arbitrary many-body interaction process with the help of the generalised effective potential method and reveal the well-specified universal origin of change (emergence), time and evolution in an a priori conservative, time-independent system. It appears together with the universal dynamic complexity definition, where this unified complexity conservation and transformation constitutes the essence of evolution. We then consider the detailed structure of this universal evolutionary process showing its step-wise, "punctuated" character, now provided with the exact mathematical description. Comparing the expected features of a revolutionary complexity transition near a step-like complexity upgrade with the currently observed behaviour of world's social and economic systems, we prove the necessity of complexity revolution towards the superior civilisation level of well-defined nature, the only alternative being an equally dramatic and irreversible degradation, irrespective of efforts applied to stop the crisis at the current totally saturated complexity level.

Quantum Field Mechanics: Complex-Dynamical Completion of Fundamental Physics and Its Experimental Implications

This report provides a brief review of recently developed extended framework for fundamental physics, designated as Quantum Field Mechanics and including causally complete and intrinsically unified theory of explicitly emerging elementary particles, their inherent properties, quantum and relativistic behaviour, interactions and their results. Essential progress with respect to usual theory is attained due to the unreduced, nonperturbative analysis of arbitrary interaction process revealing a qualitatively new phenomenon of dynamic multivaluedness of interaction results and their dynamically entangled structure giving rise to universally defined dynamic complexity (physics/9806002) and absent in usual, always perturbative and dynamically single-valued models with the zero value of unreduced complexity (including substitutes used for "complexity", "chaoticity", "self-organisation", etc.). It is shown how the observed world structure, starting from elementary particles and their interactions, dynamically emerges from the unreduced interaction between two initially homogeneous, physically real protofields (quant-ph/9902015, quant-ph/9902016). In that way one avoids arbitrary imposition of abstract entities and unprovable postulates or "principles", let alone "mysteries", of conventional theory, which now obtain unified, consistent and realistic explanation in terms of unreduced dynamic complexity. We complete the description of fundamental world structure emergence and properties by an outline of experimental implications and resulting causally substantiated change of research strategy.

Complex Dynamics of Autonomous Communication Networks and the Intelligent Communication Paradigm

Dynamics of arbitrary communication system is analysed as unreduced interaction process. The applied generalised, universally nonperturbative method of effective potential reveals the phenomenon of dynamic multivaluedness of competing system configurations forced to permanently replace each other in a causally random order, which leads to universally defined dynamical chaos, complexity, fractality, self-organisation, and adaptability (physics/9806002, physics/0211071, physics/0405063). We demonstrate the origin of huge, exponentially high efficiency of the unreduced, complex network dynamics and specify the universal symmetry of complexity (physics/0404006) as the fundamental guiding principle for creation and control of such qualitatively new kind of networks and devices. The emerging intelligent communication paradigm and its practical realisation in the form of knowledge-based networks involve the features of true, unreduced intelligence and consciousness (physics/0409140) appearing in complex (multivalued) network dynamics and results.

Unreduced Dynamic Complexity: Towards the Unified Science of Intelligent Communication Networks and Software

Operation of autonomic communication networks with complicated user-oriented functions should be described as unreduced many-body interaction process. The latter gives rise to complex-dynamic behaviour including fractally structured hierarchy of chaotically changing realisations. We recall the main results of the universal science of complexity (physics/9806002) based on the unreduced interaction problem solution and its application to various real systems, from nanobiosystems (physics/0412097, physics/0502133) and quantum devices (physics/0211071) to intelligent networks (physics/0412058) and emerging consciousness (physics/0409140). We concentrate then on applications to autonomic communication leading to fundamentally substantiated, exact science of intelligent communication and software. It aims at unification of the whole diversity of complex information system behaviour, similar to the conventional, "Newtonian" science order for sequential, regular models of system dynamics. Basic principles and first applications of the unified science of complex-dynamic communication networks and software are outlined to demonstrate its advantages and emerging practical perspectives.

75 Years of the Wavefunction: Complex-Dynamical Extension of the Original Wave Realism and the Universal Schroedinger Equation

Following Max Planck's hypothesis of quanta (quant-ph/0012069) and the matter wave idea of Louis de Broglie (quant-ph/9911107), Erwin Schroedinger proposed, at the beginning of 1926, the concept of wavefunction and wave equation for it. Though endowed with a realistic undular interpretation by its father, the wavefunction could not be considered as a real "matter wave" and has been provided with only abstract, formally probabilistic interpretation. In this paper we show how the resulting "mysteries" of usual theory are solved within the unreduced, dynamically multivalued description of the underlying, essentially nonlinear interaction process (quant-ph/9902015, quant-ph/9902016), without artificial modification of the Schroedinger equation. The latter is rigorously derived instead as universal expression of unreduced interaction complexity. Causal, totally realistic wavefunction is obtained as a dynamically probabilistic intermediate state of a simple system with interaction performing dynamically discrete transitions between its localised, incompatible "realisations" ("corpuscular" states). Causal wavefunction and Schroedinger equation are then extended to arbitrary level of world dynamics. We outline some applications of the obtained causal description, such as genuine quantum chaos (quant-ph/9511034-36) and realistic quantum devices (physics/0211071), and emphasize the basic difference of the proposed dynamically multivalued theory from dynamically single-valued imitations of causality and complexity. The causally complete wavefunction concept, representing the unified essence of unreduced (multivalued) complex dynamics, provides a clear distinctive feature of realistic science, absent in any its unitary imitation.

100 Years of Quanta: Complex-Dynamical Origin of Planck's Constant and Causally Complete Extension of Quantum Mechanics

On 14 December 1900 Max Planck first formulated the idea of energy quanta related to a new universal constant now known as Planck's constant. Despite the following progress of thus initiated "quantum mechanics", the physical origin of both quantization and universality of Planck's constant remains mysterious, as well as other "peculiar" properties of quantum dynamics. In this paper we review a recent causal extension of quantum mechanics consistently explaining all its "mysteries" by irreducibly complex, "dynamically multivalued" behaviour of the underlying system of two interacting protofields (quant-ph/9902015, quant-ph/9902016). The theory contains no imposed postulates or entities except one, unavoidable assumption about the physical nature of the protofields. All the observed entities and their properties, starting from physically real space, time, and elementary particle structure, are consistently derived, in exact correspondence with their emergence in real, irreducibly complex system dynamics. The latter provides also natural (dynamic) unification of the causally extended versions of quantum mechanics, relativity, and field theory, including unification and causal understanding of particle interaction forces. Realism and wholeness of the obtained world picture are in agreement with the "absolute reality" quest of Max Planck and confirm his famous doubts about the conventional scheme of quantum mechanics (cf. quant-ph/9911107, quant-ph/0101129). We describe various applications of the obtained results providing successful solution to many fundamental and practical problems dangerously stagnating within conventional approaches.

Towards Sustainable Future by Transition to the Next Level Civilisation

Universal and rigorously derived concept of dynamic complexit (physics/9806002) shows that any system of interacting components, including society and civilisation, exists only as a process of highly inhomogeneous, qualitative development of its complexity. Modern state of civilisation corresponds to the end of unfolding of a big enough level of complexity. Such exhausted, totally "replete" structure cannot be sustainable in principle and shows instead increased instability, realising its inevitable replacement by a new kind of structure with either low or much higher level of complexity (degrading or progressive development branch, respectively). Unrestricted sustainability can emerge only after transition to the next, superior level of civilisation complexity, which implies qualitative and unified changes in all aspects of life, including knowledge, production, social organisation, and infrastructure. These changes are specified by the rigorous analysis of underlying interaction processes. The unitary, effectively one-dimensional and rigidly fixed kind of thinking, knowledge, and social structure at the current level of complexity will be replaced by "dynamically multivalued", intrinsically creative kind of structure at the forthcoming superior level of development. We propose mathematically rigorous description of unreduced civilisation complexity development, including universal criterion of progress. One obtains thus a working basis for the causally complete, objectively exact and reliable development science and futurology.

Complex-Dynamical Extension of the Fractal Paradigm and Its Applications in Life Sciences

Complex-dynamical fractal is a hierarchy of permanently, chaotically changing versions of system structure, obtained as the unreduced, causally probabilistic general solution of arbitrary interaction problem (physics/0305119, physics/9806002). Intrinsic creativity of this extension of usual fractality determines its exponentially high operation efficiency, which underlies many specific functions of living systems, such as autonomous adaptability, "purposeful" development, intelligence and consciousness (at higher complexity levels). We outline in more detail genetic applications of complex-dynamic fractality, demonstrate the dominating role of genome interactions, and show that further progressive development of genetic research, as well as other life-science applications, should be based on the dynamically fractal structure analysis of interaction processes involved. We finally summarise the obtained extension of mathematical concepts and approaches closely related to their biological applications.

Complex Dynamics of Real Nanosystems: Fundamental Paradigm for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

Structure and dynamics of real nanosystems emerge from the unreduced solution of the underlying interaction problem. It has the property of dynamic multivaluedness giving genuine dynamic randomness and complexity (physics/9806002, physics/0405063). Chaoticity is irreducibly high in nanoscale systems and underlies exponentially high efficiency of their real, complex-dynamic operation (physics/0211071). Applications include real, dynamically chaotic quantum devices, nano-biotechnology, and genetics.

75 Years of Matter Wave: Louis de Broglie and Renaissance of the Causally Complete Knowledge

A physically real wave associated with any moving particle and travelling in a surrounding material medium was introduced by Louis de Broglie in a series of short notes in 1923 and in a more complete form in his thesis defended in Paris on the 25th November 1924. This result, recognised by the Nobel Prize in 1929, gave rise to a major direction of "new physics" known today as "quantum mechanics". However, although such notions as "de Broglie wavelength" and "wave-particle duality" form the basis of the standard quantum theory, it actually only takes for granted (postulates) the formula for the particle wavelength and totally ignores the underlying causal, realistic and physically transparent picture of wave-particle dynamics outlined by Louis de Broglie in his thesis and further considerably developed in his later works, in the form of "double solution" and "hidden thermodynamics" theory. A price to pay for such rough deviation from the original de Broglian realism and consistency involves fundamental physics domination by purely abstract and mechanistically simplified schemes of formal symbols and rules that have led to a deep knowledge impasse justly described as "the end of science". However, a new, independent approach of "quantum field mechanics" (quant-ph/9902015, quant-ph/9902016, physics/0401164) created within the "universal science of complexity" (physics/9806002) provides many-sided confirmation and natural completion of de Broglie's "nonlinear wave mechanics", eliminating all its "difficult points" and reconstituting the causally complete, totally consistent and intrinsically unified picture of the real, complex micro-world dynamics directly extendible to all higher levels of unreduced world complexity.

Electron as a Complex-Dynamical Interaction Process

A system of two initially homogeneous, physically real fields uniformly attracted to each other is considered as the simplest basis of the self-developing world structure. It is shown that the system is unstable against periodic cycles of self-amplified, essentially nonlinear squeeze of its extended part to a small volume around randomly chosen centre, followed by the reverse extension. The resulting spatially random pulsation, or "quantum beat", is observed as (massive) elementary particle such as the electron. The property of mass is then universally and consistently defined as temporal rate of such dynamically chaotic and essentially nonlinear quantum beat, without introduction of any additional entities. The obtained picture can be considered as complex-dynamical completion of the "double solution" concept of Louis de Broglie. The dynamically emerging wave-particle duality, quantum discreteness, indeterminacy, space, and time lead to the equations of special relativity and quantum mechanics, providing their causal explanation and explicit unification. The elementary particle structure, its intrinsic properties, quantum and relativistic behaviour are obtained thus all together, within the unified analysis of the unreduced interaction process leading to the universal concept of dynamic complexity. The same complex-dynamical process accounts for the universal gravitation and general relativity. The electromagnetic, weak, and strong types of interaction between particles also constitute integral, dynamically unified parts of quantum beat processes inside elementary particles. The classical, dynamically localised behaviour emerges in a closed system as a higher complexity level corresponding to formation of elementary bound systems (like atoms).
