Very high frequency gravitational waves from magnetars and gamma-ray burst

Extremely powerful astrophysical electromagnetic (EM) system could be possible source of high-frequency gravitational waves (HFGWs). Here based on properties of magnetars and gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), we address "Gamma-HFGWs" (with very high-frequency around 10^{20}Hz) caused by ultra-strong EM radiations (in the radiation-dominated phase of GRBs fireball) interacting with super-high magnetar surface magnetic fields (around 10^{11}Tesla). By certain parameters of distance and power, the Gamma-HFGWs would have far field energy density around 10^{-6}, and they would cause perturbed signal EM waves of around 10^{-20}Watt/m^2 in planned HFGW detection system based on EM response to GWs. Specially, Gamma-HFGWs would possess distinctive envelopes with characteristic shapes depending on the particular structures of surface magnetic fields of magnetars, which could be exclusive features helpful to distinguish them from background noise. Results obtained suggest that magnetars could involve in possible astrophysical EM sources of GWs in very high-frequency band, and Gamma-HFGWs would be potential targets for observations in the future.

Analyzing Black Hole super-radiance Emission of Particles/Energy from a Black Hole as a Gedankenexperiment to get bounds on the mass of a Graviton

Use of super-radiance in BH physics, so dE/dt < 0 specifies conditions for a mass of a graviton being less than or equal to 10^ - 65 grams, and also allows for determing what role additional dimensions may play in removing the datum that massive gravitons lead to 3/4th the bending of light past the planet Mercury.The present document makes a given differentiation between super-radiance in the case of conventional BHs and Braneworld BH super-radiance, which may delineate if Braneworlds contribute to an admissible massive graviton in terms of removing the usual problem of the 3/4th the bending of light past the planet Mercury which is normally associated with massive gravitons. This leads to a fork in the road, between two alternatives with the possibility of needing a multiverse containment of BH structure, or embracing what Hawkings wrote up recently, namely a re do of the Event Horizon hypothesis as we know it.

Photon-induced switching and tunneling phenomna in a YBCO thin film junction

In the persistent photoconductivity (PPC) phenomenon, illumination of a YBCO thin film junction with a 1mW He-Ne laser leads to the decrease of the critical critical voltage (similar to the threshold voltage). The decrease of the critical votage was reversed by illumination with incadenscent light. The critical voltage across the junction was experimentally decreased and increased by alternating illumination between He-Ne laser and incandescent light. We also observed visible quenching of the photo-induced state using a 5mW He-Ne laser. Finally, the threshold behavior of the junction was destroyed by illuminating it with incadenscent light.

Observations of magnetic field induced contraction of fission yeast cells using optical projection microscopy

The charges in live cells interact with or produce electric fields, which results in enormous dielectric responses, flexoelectricity, and related phenomena. Here we report on a contraction of schizosacchraoymces pombe (fission yeast) cells induced by magnetic fields, as observed using a phase sensitive projection image technique. Unlike electric fields, magnetic fields only act on moving charges. The observed behavior is quite remarkable, and may result from a contractile Lorentz force acting on diamagnetic screening currents. This would indicate extremely high intracellular charge mobilities. Besides, we observed a large electro - optical response from fission yeast cells.
