Clifford algebra analogue of Cartan's theorem for symmetric pairs

We extend Kostant's results about $\mathfrak{g}$-invariants in the Clifford algebra $Cl(\mathfrak{g})$ of a complex semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ to the relative case of $\mathfrak{k}$-invariants in the Clifford algebra $Cl(\mathfrak{p})$, where $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{k})$ is a classical symmetric pair and $\mathfrak{p}$ is the $(-1)$-eigenspace of the corresponding involution. In this setup we prove the Cartan theorem for Clifford algebras, a relative transgression theorem, the Harish--Chandra isomorphism for $Cl(\mathfrak{p})$, and a relative version of Kostant's Clifford algebra conjecture.

Group valued moment maps for even and odd simple $G$-modules

Let $G$ be a complex simple Lie group, and $\mathfrak{g}$ its Lie algebra. It is well known that a finite-dimensional $G$-module $V$ carrying a nondegenerate invariant bilinear form gives rise to a Hamiltonian Poisson space with a quadratic moment map $μ$. We show that under condition $\mathrm{Hom}_{\mathfrak{g}}({\textstyle{\bigwedge}}^3 V, S^3V)=0$ this space can be viewed as a quasi-Poisson space with the same bivector, and with the group valued moment map $Φ= \exp \circ μ$. Furthermore, we show that by modifying the bivector by the standard $r$-matrix for $\mathfrak{g}$ one obtains a space with a Poisson action of the Poisson-Lie group~$G$, and with the moment map in the sense of Lu taking values in the dual Poisson-Lie group~$G^\ast$.

Cubic Dirac operator for $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$

We construct the $q$-deformed Clifford algebra of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and study its properties. This allows us to define the $q$-deformed noncommutative Weil algebra $\mathcal{W}_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ for $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ and the corresponding cubic Dirac operator $D_q$. In the classical case it was done by Alekseev and Meinrenken. We show that the cubic Dirac operator $D_q$ is invariant with respect to the $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-action and *-structures on $\mathcal{W}_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$, moreover, the square of $D_q$ is central in $\mathcal{W}_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$. We compute the spectrum of the cubic element on finite-dimensional and Verma modules of~$U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ and the corresponding Dirac cohomology.

Quantised $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-differential algebras

We propose a definition of a quantised $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-differential algebra and show that the quantised exterior algebra (defined by Berenstein and Zwicknagl) and the quantised Clifford algebra (defined by the authors) of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ are natural examples of such algebras.

Clifford algebras and Littlewood-Richardson coefficients

We show how to use Clifford algebra techniques to describe the de Rham cohomology ring of equal rank compact symmetric spaces $G/K$. In particular, for $G/K=U(n)/U(k)\times U(n-k)$, we obtain a new way of multiplying Schur polynomials, i.e., computing the Littlewood-Richardson coefficients. The corresponding multiplication on the Clifford algebra side is, in a convenient basis given by projections of the spin module, simply the componentwise multiplication of vectors in $\mathbb{C}^N$, also known as the Hadamard product.

Non-integrable distributions with simple infinite-dimensional Lie (super)algebras of symmetries

Under usual locality assumptions, we classify all non-integrable distributions with simple infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebra of symmetries over $\mathbb{C}$: we single out 15 series (containing 2 analogs of contact series and one family of deformations of their divergence-free subalgebras), and 7 exceptional Lie superalgebras. Over algebraically closed fields~$\mathbb{K}$ of characteristic $p>0$, we classify the W-gradings (corresponding to a maximal subalgebra of finite codimension) of the known simple vectorial Lie (super)algebras with unconstrained shearing vector of heights of the indeterminates, distinguish W-gradings of (super)algebras preserving non-integrable distributions. For $p>3$, we get analogs of the result over $\mathbb{C}$. For $p=3$, of all possible W-gradings (12 of Skryabin algebras, 3 of superized Melikyan algebras, and 4 of Bouarroudj superalgebras) most are new, together with the corresponding distributions. For $p=2$, we also get several new examples of distributions and their Lie (super)algebras of symmetries.

Nichols Algebras and Quantum Principal Bundles

We introduce a general framework for associating to a homogeneous quantum principal bundle a Yetter-Drinfeld module structure on the cotangent space of the base calculus. The holomorphic and anti-holomorphic Heckenberger-Kolb calculi of the quantum Grassmannians are then presented in this framework. This allows us to express the calculi in terms of the corresponding Nichols algebras. The extension of this result to all irreducible quantum flag manifolds is then conjectured.

Positive Line Bundles Over the Irreducible Quantum Flag Manifolds

Noncommutative Kähler structures were recently introduced by the second author as a framework for studying noncommutative Kähler geometry on quantum homogeneous spaces. It was subsequently observed that the notion of a positive vector bundle directly generalises to this setting, as does the Kodaira vanishing theorem. In this paper, by restricting to covariant Kähler structures of irreducible type (those having an irreducible space of holomorphic one-forms) we provide simple cohomological criteria for positivity, offering a means to avoid explicit curvature calculations. These general results are applied to our motivating family of examples, the irreducible quantum flag manifolds $\mathcal{O}_q(G/L_S)$. Building on the recently established noncommutative Borel-Weil theorem, every covariant line bundle over $\mathcal{O}_q(G/L_S)$ can be identified as positive, negative, or flat, and hence we can conclude that each Kähler structure is of Fano type. Moreover, it proves possible to extend the Borel-Weil theorem for $\mathcal{O}_q(G/L_S)$ to a direct noncommutative generalisation of the classical Bott-Borel-Weil theorem for positive line bundles.

Nondegenerate invariant symmetric bilinear forms on simple Lie superalgebras in characteristic 2

As is well-known, the dimension of the space spanned by the non-degenerate invariant symmetric bilinear forms (NISes) on any simple finite-dimensional Lie algebra or Lie superalgebra is equal to at most 1 if the characteristic of the algebraically closed ground field is not 2. We prove that in characteristic 2, the superdimension of the space spanned by NISes can be equal to 0, or 1, or $0|1$, or $1|1$; it is equal to $1|1$ if and only if the Lie superalgebra is a queerification (defined in arXiv:1407.1695) of a simple classically restricted Lie algebra with a NIS (for examples, mainly in characteristic distinct from 2, see arXiv:1806.05505). We give examples of NISes on deformations (with both even and odd parameters) of several simple finite-dimensional Lie superalgebras in characteristic 2. We also recall examples of multiple NISes on simple Lie algebras over non-closed fields.

Holomorphic Relative Hopf Modules over the Irreducible Quantum Flag Manifolds

We construct covariant $q$-deformed holomorphic structures for all finitely-generated relative Hopf modules over the irreducible quantum flag manifolds endowed with their Heckenberger--Kolb calculi. In the classical limit these reduce to modules of sections of holomorphic homogeneous vector bundles over irreducible flag manifolds. For the case of simple relative Hopf modules, we show that this covariant holomorphic structure is unique. This generalises earlier work of Majid, Khalkhali, Landi, and van Suijlekom for line modules of the Podleś sphere, and subsequent work of Khalkhali and Moatadelro for general quantum projective space.

Duflo-Serganova homology for exceptional modular Lie superalgebras with Cartan matrix

For the exceptional finite-dimensional modular Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{g}(A)$ with indecomposable Cartan matrix $A$, and their simple subquotients, we computed non-isomorphic Lie superalgebras constituting the homologies of the odd elements with zero square. These homologies are~key ingredients in the Duflo--Serganova approach to the representation theory. There were two definitions of defect of Lie superalgebras in the literature with different ranges of application. We suggest a third definition and an easy-to-use way to find its value. In positive characteristic, we found out one more reason to consider the space of roots over reals, unlike the space of weights, which should be considered over the ground field. We proved that the rank of the homological element (decisive in calculating the defect of a given Lie superalgebra) should be considered in the adjoint module, not the irreducible module of least dimension (although the latter is sometimes possible to consider, e.g., for $p=0$). We also computed the above homology for the only case of simple Lie superalgebras with symmetric root system not considered so far over the field of complex numbers, and its modular versions: $\mathfrak{psl}(a|a+pk)$ for $a$ and $k$ small, and $p=2, 3, 5$.

On Gradings Modulo 2 of Simple Lie Algebras in Characteristic 2

The ground field in the text is of characteristic 2. The classification of modulo 2 gradings of simple Lie algebras is vital for the classification of simple finite-dimensional Lie superalgebras: with each grading, a simple Lie superalgebra is associated, see arXiv:1407.1695. No classification of gradings was known for any type of simple Lie algebras, bar restricted Jacobson-Witt algebras (i.e., the first derived of the Lie algebras of vector fields with truncated polynomials as coefficients) on not less than 3 indeterminates. Here we completely describe gradings modulo 2 for several series of Lie algebras and their simple relatives: of special linear series, its projectivizations, and projectivizations of the derived Lie algebras of two inequivalent orthogonal series (except for ${\mathfrak{o}}_Π(8)$). The classification of gradings is new, but all of the corresponding superizations are known. For the simple derived Zassenhaus algebras of height $n>1$, there is an $(n-2)$-parametric family of modulo 2 gradings; all but one of the corresponding simple Lie superalgebras are new. Our classification also proves non-triviality of a deformation of a simple $3|2$-dimensional Lie superalgebra (new result).

Restricted simple Lie (super)algebras in characteristic $3$

We give explicit formulas proving restrictedness of the following Lie (super)algebras: known exceptional simple vectorial Lie (super)algebras in characteristic 3, deformed Lie (super)algebras with indecomposable Cartan matrix, and (under certain conditions) their simple subquotients over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 3, as well as one type of the deformed divergence-free Lie superalgebras with any number of indeterminates in any characteristic.

Non-degenerate invariant (super)symmetric bilinear forms on simple Lie (super)algebras

We review the list of non-degenerate invariant (super)symmetric bilinear forms (briefly: NIS) on the following simple (relatives of) Lie (super)algebras: (a) with symmetrizable Cartan matrix of any growth, (b) with non-symmetrizable Cartan matrix of polynomial growth, (c) Lie (super)algebras of vector fields with polynomial coefficients, (d) stringy a.k.a. superconformal superalgebras, (e) queerifications of simple restricted Lie algebras. Over algebraically closed fields of positive characteristic, we establish when the deform (i.e., the result of deformation) of the known finite-dimensional simple Lie (super)algebra has a NIS. Amazingly, in most of the cases considered, if the Lie (super)algebra has a NIS, its deform has a NIS with the same Gram matrix after an identification of bases of the initial and deformed algebras. We do not consider odd parameters of deformations. Closely related with simple Lie (super)algebras with NIS is the notion of doubly extended Lie (super)algebras of which affine Kac--Moody (super)algebras are the most known examples.
