Evanescent Airy beams

In this Letter we propose the concept of the evanescent Airy beam. We analyze the structure of the ideal evanescent Airy beam, which initial profile has the Airy form, while the spectral decomposition consists of only evanescent partial waves. Also, we discuss the refraction of the Airy beam through the interface and investigate the field of the transmitted evanescent Airy beam.

Non-paraxial Airy beams

We report the propagation dynamics of Airy light beams under non-paraxial conditions. It is studied using the general approach which deals with Fourier expansion of the beam. We show the transformation of the beam from the Airy form as the paraxiality parameter decreases. The role of evanescent waves in non-paraxial regime is discussed.

An inverse method of designing cylindrical cloaks without knowing coordinate transformation

An inverse way to define the parameters of ideal cylindrical cloaks is developed, in which the interconnection between the parameters is revealed for the first time without knowing a specific coordinate transformation. The required parameters are derived in terms of the integral form of cloaking generators, which is very general and allows us to examine the significance of the parametric profiles. The validity of such inverse way and the invisibility characteristics are presented in full-wave numerical simulation of plane wave scattering by cloaked cylinders.

Electrodynamic spherical harmonic

Electrodynamic spherical harmonic is a second rank tensor in three-dimensional space. It allows to separate the radial and angle variables in vector solutions of Maxwell's equations. Using the orthonormalization for electrodynamic spherical harmonic, a boundary problem on a sphere can be easily solved.
