Do sewn singularities falsify the Palatini cosmology?

We investigate further (cf. arXiv:1512.01199, JCAP01 (2016) 040) Starobinsky cosmological model $R+γR^2$ in the Palatini formalism with Chaplygin gas and baryonic matter as a source. For this aim we use dynamical system theory. The dynamics is reduced to the 2D sewn dynamical system of a Newtonian type (a piecewise-smooth dynamical system). We classify all evolutional paths in the model as well as trajectories in the phase space. We demonstrate the presence of a degenerate freeze singularity (glued freeze type singularities) for the positive $γ$. In this case it is a generic feature of early evolution of the universe. We point out that a degenerate type III of singularity can be considered as an endogenous model of inflation between the matter dominating epoch and the dark energy phase. We also investigate cosmological models with negative $γ$. It is demonstrated that $γ$ equal zero is a bifurcation parameter and dynamics qualitatively changes in comparison to positive $γ$. Instead of the big bang the sudden bounce singularity of a finite scale factor appears and there is a generic class of bouncing solutions sewn along the line $a=a_{\text{sing}}$. And we argue that the presence of sudden singularities in an evolutional scenario of the Universe falsifies the negative $γ$ in the Palatini cosmology. Only very small values of $Ω_γ$ parameter are admissible if we requires that agreements physics with the $Λ$CDM model. From the statistical analysis of astronomical observations, we deduce that the case of negative values of $Ω_γ$ can be rejected even if it may fit better to the data.

Inflationary cosmology with Chaplygin gas in Palatini formalism

We present a simple generalisation of the $Λ$CDM model which on the one hand reaches very good agreement with the present day experimental data and provides an internal inflationary mechanism on the other hand. It is based on Palatini modified gravity with quadratic Starobinsky term and generalized Chaplygin gas as a matter source providing, besides a current accelerated expansion, the epoch of endogenous inflation driven by type III freeze singularity. It follows from our statistical analysis that astronomical data favors negative value of the parameter coupling quadratic term into Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian and as a consequence the bounce instead of initial Big-Bang singularity is preferred.

Low energy Greybody factors for fermions emitted by a Schwarzschild-de Sitter black hole

In this paper we are discussing the problem of low-energy greybody factors for fermions emitted by a Schwarzschild-de Sitter black hole. In our study we are using the analytical methods proposed by Unruh some time ago for determining the greybody factors. We have found that at low energies the greybody factors are constant for a given total angular momentum (similar to what happens in the case of scalar particles reported before in the literature). Also our results are indicating an enhancement in the energy spectrum if one is increasing the value of the cosmological constant. These results are consistent with numerical calculations performed in Ref.[14] by S.F. Wu et al. (Phys.Rev.D 78, 084010).

Real and pseudoreal forms of D=4 complex Euclidean (super)algebras and super-Poincare / super-Euclidean r-matrices

We provide the classification of real forms of complex D=4 Euclidean algebra $\mathcalε(4; \mathbb{C}) = \mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})) \ltimes \mathbf{T}_{\mathbb{C}}^4$ as well as (pseudo)real forms of complex D=4 Euclidean superalgebras $\mathcalε(4|N; \mathbb{C})$ for N=1,2. Further we present our results: N=1 and N=2 supersymmetric D=4 Poincare and Euclidean r-matrices obtained by using D= 4 Poincare r-matrices provided by Zakrzewski [1]. For N=2 we shall consider the general superalgebras with two central charges.

$κ$-Deformations and Extended $κ$-Minkowski Spacetimes

We extend our previous study of Hopf-algebraic $κ$-deformations of all inhomogeneous orthogonal Lie algebras ${\rm iso}(g)$ as written in a tensorial and unified form. Such deformations are determined by a vector $τ$ which for Lorentzian signature can be taken time-, light- or space-like. We focus on some mathematical aspects related to this subject. Firstly, we describe real forms with connection to the metric's signatures and their compatibility with the reality condition for the corresponding $κ$-Minkowski (Hopf) module algebras. Secondly, $h$-adic vs $q$-analog (polynomial) versions of deformed algebras including specialization of the formal deformation parameter $κ$ to some numerical value are considered. In the latter the general covariance is lost and one deals with an orthogonal decomposition. The last topic treated in this paper concerns twisted extensions of $κ$-deformations as well as the description of resulting noncommutative spacetime algebras in terms of solvable Lie algebras. We found that if the type of the algebra does not depend on deformation parameters then specialization is possible.

Twisting and kappa-Poincare

We demonstrate that the coproduct of D=2 and D=4 quantum kappa-Poincare algebra in classical algebra basis can not be obtained by the cochain twist depending only on Poincare algebra generators. We also argue that nonexistence of such a twist does not imply the nonexistence of universal R-matrix.

Invariant solutions and Noether symmetries in Hybrid Gravity

Symmetries play a crucial role in physics and, in particular, the Noether symmetries are a useful tool both to select models motivated at a fundamental level, and to find exact solutions for specific Lagrangians. In this work, we consider the application of point symmetries in the recently proposed metric-Palatini Hybrid Gravity in order to select the $f({\cal R})$ functional form and to find analytical solutions for the field equations and for the related Wheeler-DeWitt (WDW) equation. We show that, in order to find out integrable $f({\cal R})$ models, conformal transformations in the Lagrangians are extremely useful. In this context, we explore two conformal transformations of the forms $dτ=N(a) dt$ and $dτ=N(ϕ) dt$. For the former conformal transformation, we found two cases of $f({\cal R})$ functions where the field equations admit Noether symmetries. In the second case, the Lagrangian reduces to a Brans-Dicke-like theory with a general coupling function. For each case, it is possible to transform the field equations by using normal coordinates to simplify the dynamical system and to obtain exact solutions. Furthermore, we perform quantization and derive the WDW equation for the minisuperspace model. The Lie point symmetries for the WDW equation are determined and used to find invariant solutions.

Unified description for kappa-deformations of orthogonal groups

In this paper we provide universal formulas describing Drinfeld-type quantization of inhomogeneous orthogonal groups determined by a metric tensor of an arbitrary signature living in a spacetime of arbitrary dimension. The metric tensor does not need to be in diagonal form and kappa-deformed coproducts are presented in terms of classical generators. It opens the possibility for future applications in deformed general relativity. The formulas depend on the choice of an additional vector field which parameterizes classical r-matrices. Non-equivalent deformations are then labeled by the corresponding type of stability subgroups. For the Lorentzian signature it covers three (non-equivalent) Hopf-algebraic deformations: time-like, space-like (a.k.a. tachyonic) and light-like (a.k.a. light-cone) quantizations of the Poincare algebra. Finally the existence of the so-called Majid-Ruegg (non-classical) basis is reconsidered.

$κ$-Minkowski Spacetimes and DSR Algebras: Fresh Look and Old Problems

Some classes of Deformed Special Relativity (DSR) theories are reconsidered within the Hopf algebraic formulation. For this purpose we shall explore a minimal framework of deformed Weyl-Heisenberg algebras provided by a smash product construction of DSR algebra. It is proved that this DSR algebra, which uniquely unifies $κ$-Minkowski spacetime coordinates with Poincaré generators, can be obtained by nonlinear change of generators from undeformed one. Its various realizations in terms of the standard (undeformed) Weyl-Heisenberg algebra opens the way for quantum mechanical interpretation of DSR theories in terms of relativistic (Stückelberg version) Quantum Mechanics. On this basis we review some recent results concerning twist realization of $κ$-Minkowski spacetime described as a quantum covariant algebra determining a deformation quantization of the corresponding linear Poisson structure. Formal and conceptual issues concerning quantum $κ$-Poincaré and $κ$-Minkowski algebras as well as DSR theories are discussed. Particularly, the so-called "$q$-analog" version of DSR algebra is introduced. Is deformed special relativity quantization of doubly special relativity remains an open question. Finally, possible physical applications of DSR algebra to description of some aspects of Planck scale physics are shortly recalled.

Dark matter and dark energy as a effects of Modified Gravity

We explain the effect of dark matter (flat rotation curve) using modified gravitational dynamics. We investigate in this context a low energy limit of generalized general relativity with a nonlinear Lagrangian ${\cal L}\propto R^n$, where $R$ is the (generalized) Ricci scalar and $n$ is parameter estimated from SNIa data. We estimate parameter $β$ in modified gravitational potential $V(r) \propto -\frac{1}{r}(1+(\frac{r}{r_c})^β)$. Then we compare value of $β$ obtained from SNIa data with $β$ parameter evaluated from the best fitted rotation curve. We find $β\simeq 0.7$ which becomes in good agreement with an observation of spiral galaxies rotation curve. We also find preferred value of $Ω_{m,0}$ from the combined analysis of supernovae data and baryon oscillation peak. We argue that although amount of "dark energy" (of non-substantial origin) is consistent with SNIa data and flat curves of spiral galaxies are reproduces in the framework of modified Einstein's equation we still need substantial dark matter. For comparison predictions of the model with predictions of the $Λ$CDM concordance model we apply the Akaike and Bayesian information criteria of model selection.

Accelerated Cosmological Models in Modified Gravity tested by distant Supernovae SNIa data

Recent supernovae of type Ia measurements and other astronomical observations suggest that our universe is in accelerating phase of evolution at the present epoch. While a dark energy of unknown form is usually proposed as the most feasible mechanism for the acceleration, there are appears some alternative conception that some effects arising from generalization of Einstein equation can mimic dark energy through a modified Friedmann equation. In this work we investigate some observational constraints on modified Friedmann equation obtained from generalized Lagrangian ${\cal L} \propto R^n$ in minimal coupling with matter in Palatini formalism. We mainly concentrate on the constraints of model parameters from distant supernovae but other constraint from baryon oscillation prior is also considered. We obtain the confidence levels on two additional model parameter ($n$,$Ω_{m,0}$). We conclude that the FRW model of First-Order Non-linear gravity survives several observational test like SNIa observation and baryon oscillation peaks. We find preferred value of $Ω_{m,0} \simeq 0.3$ from combined analysis of supernovae data and baryon oscillation peak. For deeper statistical analysis we apply Akaike and Bayesian information criteria of model selection for comparison prediction of the model with prediction of concordance $Λ$CDM model.

Dark Energy Dominance and Cosmic Acceleration in First Order Formalism

The current accelerated universe could be produced by modified gravitational dynamics as it can be seen in particular in its Palatini formulation. We analyze here a specific non-linear gravity-scalar system in the first order Palatini formalism which leads to a FRW cosmology different from the purely metric one. It is shown that the emerging FRW cosmology may lead either to an effective quintessence phase (cosmic speed-up) or to an effective phantom phase. Moreover, the already known gravity assisted dark energy dominance occurs also in the first order formalism. Finally, it is shown that a dynamical theory able to resolve the cosmological constant problem exists also in this formalism, in close parallel with the standard metric formulation.

Accelerated Cosmological Models in First-Order Non-Linear Gravity

The evidence of the acceleration of universe at present time has lead to investigate modified theories of gravity and alternative theories of gravity, which are able to explain acceleration from a theoretical viewpoint without the need of introducing dark energy. In this paper we study alternative gravitational theories defined by Lagrangians which depend on general functions of the Ricci scalar invariant in minimal interaction with matter, in view of their possible cosmological applications. Structural equations for the spacetimes described by such theories are solved and the corresponding field equations are investigated in the Palatini formalism, which prevents instability problems. Particular examples of these theories are also shown to provide, under suitable hypotheses, a coherent theoretical explanation of earlier results concerning the present acceleration of the universe and cosmological inflation. We suggest moreover a new possible Lagrangian, depending on the inverse of sinh(R), which gives an explanation to the present acceleration of the universe.

Basic concepts of ternary Hopf algebras

The theory of ternary semigroups, groups and algebras is reformulated in the abstract arrow language. Then using the reversing arrow ansatz we define ternary comultiplication, bialgebras and Hopf algebras and investigate their properties. The main property "to be binary derived" is considered in detail. The co-analog of Post theorem is formulated. It is shown that there exist 3 types of ternary coassociativity, 3 types of ternary counits and 2 types of ternary antipodes. Some examples are also presented.

Bi-element representations of ternary groups

General properties of ternary semigroups and groups are considered. The bi-element representation theory in which every representation matrix corresponds to a pair of elements is built, connection with the standard theory is considered and several concrete examples are constructed. For clarity the shortened versions of classical Gluskin-Hosszú and Post theorems are given for them.
