Swarm Behavior of Intelligent Cloud

In this paper, the main aim is to exhibit swarm intelligence power in cloud based scenario. Heterogeneous environment has been configured at server-side network of the whole cloud network. In the proposed system, different types of servers are being used to manage useful assorted atmosphere. Swarm intelligence has been adopted for enhancing the performance of overall system network. Specific location at server-side of the network is going to be selected by the swarm intelligence concept for accessing desired elements. Flexibility, robustness and self-organization, which are to be considered at the time of designing the system environment, are the main features of swarm intelligence.

B -> tau nu: Opening up the Charged Higgs Parameter Space with R-parity Violation

The theoretically clean channel B+ -> tau+ nu shows a close to 3sigma discrepancy between the Standard Model prediction and the data. This in turn puts a strong constraint on the parameter space of a two-Higgs doublet model, including R-parity conserving supersymmetry. The constraint is so strong that it almost smells of fine-tuning. We show how the parameter space opens up with the introduction of suitable R-parity violating interactions, and release the tension between data and theory.

Reconciling anomalous measurements in $B_s-\bar{B}_s$ mixing: the role of CPT-conserving and CPT-violating new physics

Recently observed anomalies in the $B_s \to J/ψϕ$ decay and the like-sign dimuon asymmetry $A^b_{sl}$ hint at possible new physics (NP) in the $\bsbsbar$ mixing. We parameterize the NP with four model-independent quantities: the magnitudes and phases of the dispersive part $M_{12}$ and the absorptive part $Γ_{12}$ of the NP contribution to the effective Hamiltonian. We constrain these parameters using the four observables $ΔM_s$, $ΔΓ_s$, the mixing phase $β_s^{J/ψϕ}$, and $A^b_{sl}$. Our quantitative fit indicates that the NP should contribute a significant dispersive as well as absorptive part. In fact, models that do not contribute a new absorptive part are disfavored at more than 99% confidence level. We extend this formalism to include CPT violation, and show that CPT violation by itself, or even in presence of CPT-conserving new physics without an absorptive part, helps only marginally in the simultaneous resolution of these anomalies. The NP absorptive contribution to $\bsbsbar$ mixing therefore seems to be essential, and would imply a large branching fraction for channels like $B_s \to τ^+ τ^-$.

Mutual consistency of the MINOS and MiniBooNE Antineutrino Results and Possible CPT Violation

Discussing the recent MINOS data on muon anti-neutrino disappearance and the MiniBooNE data on muon anti-neutrino to electron anti-neutrino oscillation, we show that the while the respective best fits are inconsistent with each other, significant overlap of allowed regions does exist. Assuming only three neutrino species, the data indicates a discrepancy of mass levels and mixing angles between the neutrino and the antineutrino sectors. We show that the existing data can be reconciled with a model of explicit CPT violation in the neutrino sector and estimate the magnitude of the required violation.

Enhanced $B_s$--$\bar{B}_s$ lifetime difference and anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry from new physics in $B_s \to τ^+ τ^-$

New physics models that increase the decay rate of $B_s \to τ^+ τ^-$ contribute to the absorptive part of $B_s$--$\bar{B}_s$ mixing, and may enhance $ΔΓ_s$ all the way up to its current experimental bound. In particular, the model with a scalar leptoquark can lead to a significant violation of the expectation $ΔΓ_s \leq ΔΓ_s$ (SM). It can even allow regions in the $ΔΓ_s$-$β_s$ parameter space that are close to the best fit obtained by CDF and D\{O} through $B_s \to J/ψϕ$. In addition, it can help explain the anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry observed recently by DØ. A measurement of $BR(B_s \to τ^+ τ^-)$ is thus crucial for a better understanding of new physics involved in $B_s$--$\bar{B}_s$ mixing.

Constraining Scalar Leptoquarks from the K and B Sectors

Upper bounds at the weak scale are obtained for all $λ_{ij}λ_{im}$ type product couplings of the scalar leptoquark model which may affect K-K(bar), B_d-B_d(bar), and B_s-B_s(bar)$ mixing, as well as leptonic and semileptonic K and B decays. Constraints are obtained for both real and imaginary parts of the couplings. We also discuss the role of leptoquarks in explaining the anomalously large CP-violating phase in B_s-B_s(bar) mixing.

Multijet Discriminators for New Physics in Leptonic Signals at the LHC

Some of the cleanest signals for new physics in the early runs of the LHC will involve strongly-produced particles which give rise to multiple leptons by undergoing cascade decays through weakly-interacting states to stable particles. Some of the most spectacular final states will involve three or more leptons, multiple jets and generally missing energy-momentum as well. A triad of the most interesting models of new physics which induce such signals is known to consist of (i) supersymmetry with R-parity conservation, (ii) a universal extra dimension with conservation of KK-parity and (iii) little Higgs models with conserved T-parity. Similar signals could also arise if the Standard Model is augmented with a fourth sequential generation of heavy fermions. We study all these possibilities and show that a judiciously chosen set of observables, critically involving the number of identifiable jets and leptons, can collectively provide distinct footprints for each of these models. In fact, simple pairwise correlation of such observables can enable unambiguous identification of the underlying model, even with a relatively small data sample.

Some consequences of a Higgs triplet

We consider an extension of the scalar sector of the Standard Model with a single complex Higgs triplet $X$. Such extensions are the most economic, model-independent way of generating neutrino masses through triplet interactions. We show that a term like $\azeroΦΦX^†$ must be included in the most general potential of such a scenario, in order to avoid a massless neutral physical scalar. We also demonstrate that $\azero$ must be real, thus ruling out any additional source of CP-violation. We then examine the implications of this term in the mass matrices of the singly-and doubly-charged scalar, neutral scalar and pseudoscalar fields. We find that, for small values of $\azero/\vtwo$, where $\vtwo$ is the triplet vev, the spectrum allows the decay of heavier scalars into lighter ones via gauge interactions. For large $\azero/\vtwo$, the doubly-charged, singly-charged and neutral pseudoscalar bosons become practically degenerate, while the even-parity neutral scalars remain considerably lighter, thus emphasizing the possibility of decay of the singly-charged or neutral pseudoscalar states into the neutral scalars. Constraints from the $ρ$-parameter are used to find nontrivial limits on the charged Higgs mass depending on $\azero$. We also study the couplings of the various physical states in this scenario. For small values of $|\azero|/\vtwo$, we find the lightest neutral scalar field to be triplet-dominated, and thus having extremely suppressed interactions with fermion as well as gauge boson pairs.

Two-loop neutrino masses with large R-parity violating interactions in supersymmetry

We attempt to reconcile large trilinear R-parity violating interactions in a supersymmetric (SUSY) theory with the observed pattern of neutrino masses and mixing. We show that, with a restricted number of such interaction terms with the $λ'$-type couplings in the range (0.1-1.0), it is possible to forbid one-loop contributions to the neutrino mass matrix. This is illustrated with the help of a `working example' where an econnomic choice of SUSY parameters is made, with three non-vanishing and `large' R-parity violating terms in the superpotential. The two-loop contributions in such a case can not only generate the masses in the requisite order but can also lead us to specific allowed regions of the parameter space.

R-parity violating supersymmetry, B_s mixing, and D_s -> l nu

Recently, it was pointed out that the mixing phase in the Bs-Bsbar system is large, contrary to the expectations in the Standard Model as well as in minimal flavour violation models. The leptonic decay widths of the D_s meson are also found to be larger than expected. We show how a minimal set of four R-parity violating lambda-prime type couplings can explain both these anomalies. We also point out other phenomenological implications of such new physics.

Production of Higgs boson excitations of universal extra dimension at the Large Hadron Collider

The Kaluza-Klein excitations of the Higgs bosons of the universal extra dimension model are extremely challenging to detect. We discuss the production and possible detection mechanisms of such excited scalars at the LHC. The dominant production mechanism of such scalars is from the decay of the excited third generation quarks. In particular, the charged Higgs boson has a large production cross-section over most of the parameter space. We highlight how one may detect these excited scalars. We also comment on the production and detection of excited neutral scalars.

Possibility of large lifetime differences in neutral B meson systems

We investigate new physics models that can increase the lifetime differences in the $B_q$--$\bar{B}_q$ systems ($q = d,s$) above their standard model values. If both $B_q$ as well as $\bar{B}_q$ can decay to a final state through flavour dependent new physics interactions, the so-called Grossman bound may be evaded. As examples, we consider the scalar leptoquark model and $λ''$-type R-parity violating supersymmetry. We find that models with a scalar leptoquark can enhance $ΔΓ_s/Γ_s$ all the way up to its experimental upper bound and $ΔΓ_d/Γ_d$ to as much as $\sim 2.5%$, at the same time allowing the CP violating phase $β_s$ to vary between $- 45^\circ$ and $20^\circ$. R-parity violating supersymmetry models cannot enhance the lifetime differences significantly, but can enhance the value of $β_s$ up to $\sim \pm 20^\circ$. This may bring the values of $ΔΓ_q/Γ_q$ as well as $β_s$ within the measurement capabilities of $B$ factories and LHCb. We also obtain bounds on combinations of these new physics couplings, and predict enhanced branching ratios of $B_{s/d} \to τ^+ τ^-$.

The Excited Scalars of the Universal Extra Dimension Model

In the minimal Universal Extra Dimension (mUED) model, there are four physical scalar particles at the n=1 level, two charged and two neutral. Due to the almost degenerate nature of the spectrum, the detection of these scalars is a major challenge, perhaps the greatest experimental challenge if UED-type new physics is observed at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We explore the possibility of detecting these particles at the International Linear Collider (ILC), and emphasise the need of having an excellent soft tau detection efficiency.

New Physics in b -> s bar(s) s Decay. II: Study of B -> V1 V2 Modes

Various nonleptonic decay channels mediated by the quark-level subprocess $b\to s\bar{s} s$ show hints of deviation from the Standard Model expectations. We analyse the double-vector decay $B\toϕK^\ast$ with different generic new physics structures and find the constraints on the parameter spaces of new physics. The allowed parameter spaces are compatible with, but further narrowed down from, those obtained from a similar analysis using pseudoscalar modes. We also discuss further predictions for this channel as well as for $B_s\toϕϕ$, and show how even a partial measurement of the observables may discriminate between different models of new physics.

Probing Universal Extra Dimension at the International Linear Collider

In the context of an universal extra-dimensional scenario, we consider production of the first Kaluza-Klein electron positron pair in an $e^+e^-$ collider as a case-study for the future International Linear Collider. The Kaluza-Klein electron decays into a nearly degenerate Kaluza-Klein photon and a standard electron, the former carrying away missing energy. The Kaluza-Klein electron and photon states are heavy with their masses around the inverse radius of compactification, and their splitting is controlled by radiative corrections originating from bulk and brane-localised interactions. We look for the signal event $e^+e^- +$ large missing energy for $\sqrt s = 1$ TeV and observe that with a few hundred fb$^{-1}$ luminosity the signal will be readily detectable over the standard model background. We comment on how this signal may be distinguished from similar events from other new physics.

The International Linear Collider as a Kaluza-Klein Factory

In the minimal Universal Extra Dimension model, single production of n = 2 gauge bosons provides a unique discriminating feature from supersymmetry. We discuss how the proposed International Linear Collider can act as a n = 2 factory, much in the same vein as LEP. We also touch upon the potential of the gamma-gamma mode of the collider to study the production and the decay of an intermediate mass Higgs boson and its KK excitations.

Rare Weak Decays and Direct Lepton Number Violating Signals in a Minimal R-Parity Violating Model of Neutrino Mass

Within the framework of R-parity violating minimal supergravity model, at least three relatively large lepton-number violating $ł'$ type trilinear couplings at the GUT scale, not directly related to neutrino physics, can naturally generate via renormalization group (RG) evolution and/or CKM rotation the highly suppressed bilinear and trilinear parameters at the weak scale required to explain the neutrino oscillation data. The structure of the RG equations and the CKM matrix restrict the choices of the three input couplings to only eight possible combinations, each with its own distinctive experimental signature. The relatively large input couplings may lead to spectacular low energy signatures like rare weak decays of the $τ$ lepton and K mesons, direct lepton number violating decays of several sparticles, and unconventional decay modes (and reduced lifetime) of the lightest neutralino, assumed to be the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), all with sizable branching ratios. Several low background signals at the Tevatron and LHC have been suggested and their sizes are estimated to be at the observable level. From the particle content of the signal and the relative rate of different final states the input couplings at the GUT scale, i.e., the origin of neutrino masses and mixing angles, can be identified.
