Improved supernova bounds on CP-even scalars: cooling and decay constraints

Supernovae provide among the most powerful probes of weakly-coupled new particles in the MeV mass range, where laboratory experiments lose sensitivity. In this work, we derive improved supernova constraints on CP-even scalars mixing with the Higgs boson, combining an updated production rate calculation, which improves the cooling bound by more than an order of magnitude, with new decay-based constraints from the galactic 511~keV positron flux and energy deposition in low-energy Type~II-P supernovae. Together, these constraints probe mixing angles as small as $\sinθ\sim 10^{-9}$, more than five orders of magnitude below existing collider bounds. We also extend our analysis to a hadrophilic scalar model, constraining Yukawa couplings down to $y_N \sim 10^{-10}$. Our results demonstrate that the combination of astrophysical and collider probes covers over nine orders of magnitude in coupling for these classes of models, probing a large region of parameter space motivated by dark matter considerations.

Vector leptoquark contributions to lepton dipole moments

Leptoquarks (LQs) can contribute to the magnetic and electric dipole moments of charged leptons, which the current experiments have measured with good accuracy. We revisit the parameter spaces of TeV-scale vector LQs that contribute to these observables and study how these models fare against the LHC bounds. We show that significant portions of the parameter space are excluded when the current LHC data is utilised effectively. We find that only $U_1$ and $V_2$ can explain the observed positive shift in $(a_μ^{\rm exp} - a_μ^{\rm SM})$ through a lepton chirality-flipping contribution with $\mathcal O(1)$ LQ-quark-lepton coupling. We also see how these two LQs can fit the electron dipole moment and atomic parity violation measurements. We find that the current electric dipole moment measurements of the muon cannot restrain the LQ-quark-lepton couplings within perturbative regions.

Tri-bimaximal-Cabibbo Mixing: Flavour violations in the charged lepton sector

The well understood structure of $U_{pmns}$ matrix mandates a Cabibbo mixing matrix in the first two generations of the charged lepton sector if we assume Tri-bimaximal mixing in the neutrino sector. This ansatz, called Tri-bimaximal-Cabibbo mixing, is ruled out immediately by the experiments searching for charged lepton flavour violating currents. In this article, we aim to show that the resurrection of the theoretically well motivated Tri-bimaximal mixing scenario comes naturally within Minimal Flavour Violation hypothesis in the lepton sector. We analyse the flavour violating currents $μ\rightarrow e e e$, $μTi \to e Ti$, $μ\rightarrow e γ$, $π^0\rightarrow e^+ μ^{-}$ and $K_L \rightarrow μ^+ e^-$ in this scenario and show that the New Physics that generates mixing among the charged lepton could lie within the reach of hadron colliders. In the minimal field content scenario, though the most stringent constrain on New Physics is $\gtrsim \mathcal{O}(10$ TeV) for maximal coupling, considering more natural couplings relaxes it to $\gtrsim \mathcal{O}(4$ TeV). On the other hand, New Physics with the extended field content is even more strongly constrained to $\gtrsim \mathcal{O}(75$ TeV) for maximal coupling, while it gets relaxed to $\gtrsim \mathcal{O}(31$ TeV) for natural scenario.

Combined explanation of $W$-mass, muon $g-2$, $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $R_{D^{(*)}}$ anomalies in a singlet-triplet scalar leptoquark model

In addition to the long-standing anomalies seen in the muon $g-2$, $R_{K^{(*)}}$, and $R_{D^{(*)}}$ observables by various independent experiments, the CDF Collaboration has found another significant one in the $W$-boson mass. These anomalies might be intertwined at a fundamental level and have a single new-physics explanation. In this paper, we present a simultaneous solution to these anomalies with two scalar leptoquarks of roughly equal mass -- one weak-singlet $S_1$ and the other a weak-triplet $S_3$ -- which mix through a Higgs portal. The solution has only a few new couplings and TeV-scale leptoquarks, making the solution testable at the LHC. We put a lower and upper bound on the leptoquark masses in this setup from the current LHC data and the assumption that all new couplings are within the perturbative limit.
