The boundary of the Milnor fiber for some non-isolated germs of complex surfaces

We study the boundary L_t of the Milnor fiber for the non-isolated singularities in C^3 with equation z^m - g(x,y) = 0 where g(x,y) is a non-reduced plane curve germ. We give a complete proof that L_t is a Waldhausen graph manifold and we provide the tools to construct its plumbing graph. As an example, we give the plumbing graph associated to the germs z^2 - (x^2 - y^3)y^l = 0 with l an interger >1. We prove that the boundary of the Milnor fiber is a Waldhausen manifold new in complex geometry, as it cannot be the boundary of a normal surface singularity.

The boundary of the Milnor fiber of Hirzebruch surface singularities

We give the first (as far as we know) complete description of the boundary of the Milnor fiber for some non-isolated singular germs of surfaces in ${\bf C}^3$. We study irreducible (i.e. $gcd (m,k,l) = 1$) non-isolated (i.e. $1 \leq k < l$) Hirzebruch hypersurface singularities in ${\bf C}^3$ given by the equation $z^m - x^ky^l = 0$. We show that the boundary $L$ of the Milnor fiber is always a Seifert manifold and we give an explicit description of the Seifert structure. From it, we deduce that : 1) $L$ is never diffeomorphic to the boundary of the normalization. 2) $L$ is a lens space iff $m = 2$ and $k = 1$. 3) When $L$ is not a lens space, it is never orientation preserving diffeomorphic to the boundary of a normal surface singularity.

Fibered Multilinks and singularities $f \bar g$

In this article we extend Milnor's fibration theorem for complex singularities to the case of singularities $f \bar g:(X,P) \to (C,0))$ defined on a complex analytic singularity germ $(X,P)$, with $f, g$ holomorphic and $f \bar g$ having an isolated critical value at $0 \in C$. This can also be regarded as a result for meromorphic germs. Then we strenghten this fibration theorem when $X$ has complex dimension 2, obtaining a fibration theorem for multilinks that extends previous work by Pichon. We prove that the multilink $L_{f \bar g}$ in $L_X$ (the link of $X$), is fibred iff the map $f \bar g$ has an isolated critical value at $0 \in C$, and in this case the map $\frac{f \bar g}{|f \bar g|}$ defined on $L_X \setminus L_{f \bar g}$ is a multilink fibration. We also give a combinatorial criterium, easy to verify, to decide when is $L_{f \bar g}$ a fibred multilink. We finally prove a realization theorem for fibred multilinks.
