Dark matter and structure formation a review

This paper provides a review of the variants of dark matter which are thought to be fundamental components of the universe and their role in origin and evolution of structures and some new original results concerning improvements to the spherical collapse model. In particular, I show how the spherical collapse model is modified when we take into account dynamical friction and tidal torques.

ABS Methods and ABSPACK for Linear Systems and Optimization, a Review

ABS methods are a large class of methods, based upon the Egervary rank reducing algebraic process, first introduced in 1984 by Abaffy, Broyden and Spedicato for solving linear algebraic systems, and later extended to nonlinear algebraic equations, to optimization problems and other fields; software based upon ABS methods is now under development. Current ABS literature consists of about 400 papers. ABS methods provide a unification of several classes of classical algorithms and more efficient new solvers for a number of problems. In this paper we review ABS methods for linear systems and optimization, from both the point of view of theory and the numerical performance of ABSPACK.

The strong coupling constant

In this paper we fix our attention, on hadron structure, and show that also the strong interaction strength alpha_S, ordinarily called the "(perturbative) coupling--constant square}", can be evaluated within our theory, and found to decrease (increase) as the "distance" r decreases (increases). This yields both the confinement of the hadron constituents, and their asymptotic freedom: in qualitative agreement with the experimental evidence. In other terms, our approach leads us, on a purely theoretical ground, to a dependence of alpha_S on r which had been previously found only on phenomenological and heuristic grounds. We expect the above agreement to be also quantitative, on the basis of a few checks performed in this work.

C++ Codes of Implicit Lu Algorithms for Absdll01

This report is devoted to some C++ codes implementing the implicit LU class algorithms for solving linear determined, and undetermined systems with $n$ variables and $m$ equations. A main program used in part of the numerical test is given in the last section.

An ABS Algorithm for a Class of Systems of Stochastic Linear Equations

This paper is to explore a model of the ABS Algorithms for dealing with a class of systems of linear stochastic equations A xi=eta satisfying eta sim N_m(v, I_{m}). It is shown that the iteration step alpha_{i} is N(V,π) and approximation solutions is xi_{i} \sim N_n(U,Σ) for this algorithm model. And some properties of (V,π)$ and $(U,Σ) are given.
