Quantitative homogenization of convex Hamilton-Jacobi equations in the Wasserstein space

We study a homogenization problem for first-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations in the Wasserstein space with a convex Hamiltonian. We show that the solution $U^\varepsilon$, which is the value function of a mean field control problem, converges uniformly as $\varepsilon \to 0$ to the solution of a limiting Hamilton-Jacobi equation whose Hamiltonian is obtained through a suitable cell problem. Furthermore, we establish quantitative rates of convergence. Under general assumptions with multiscale dependence, we prove that the rate of convergence is $O(\sqrt{\varepsilon})$. When the Hamiltonian depends only on the fast variable and the momentum, we establish the sharp convergence rate $O(\varepsilon)$. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first quantitative convergence result extending the optimal rate for first-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations in finite dimensions to the Wasserstein space. Finally, we show that our analysis extends to dynamic optimal transport problems, where the terminal condition imposes a constraint on the final distribution.

Analytical Approach to Continuous-Time Causal Optimal Transport

We study causal optimal transport in continuous time, with Markovian cost, between a finite-state Markov source and a diffusion target. By replacing the source with its conditional law given the observation of the target, we characterize the value of this transport problem through a fully nonlinear parabolic master equation on an enlarged state space. We further show that this value coincides with those of two equivalent stochastic control problems on the simplex: a control of the Kushner--Stratonovich filtering equation with a zero-mean condition, and a state-constrained stochastic optimal control problem. Both formulations give rise to implementable numerical schemes that approximate the value from above and below.

Martingale Optimal Transport and Martingale Schr\"odinger Bridges for Calibration of Stochastic Volatility Models

Motivated by recent developments in the calibration of stochastic volatility models (SVMs for short), we study continuous-time formulations of martingale optimal transport and martingale Schr\"odinger bridge problems. We establish duality formulas and also provide alternative proofs, via different techniques, of duality results previously established in the mathematical finance literature. Applications include calibration of SVMs to SPX options, as well as joint calibration to both SPX and VIX options.

Singular Perturbations of Hamilton-Jacobi Equations in the Wasserstein Space

We study a singular perturbation problem for second-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations in the Wasserstein space. Specifically, we characterize the behavior of the solutions as the perturbation parameter $\varepsilon$ tends to zero. The notion of solution we adopt is that of viscosity solutions in the sense of test functions on the Wasserstein space. Our proof utilizes the perturbed test function method, appropriately adapted to this setting. Finally, we highlight a connection with the homogenization of conditional slow-fast McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations.

Fluctuation exponents of the open KPZ equation in the maximal current phase

We consider the open KPZ equation $H(x,t)$ on the interval $[0,L]$ with Neumann boundary conditions depending on parameters $u,v\ge 0$ (the so-called maximal current phase). For $L \sim t^{\alpha}$ and stationary initial conditions, we obtain matching upper and lower bounds on the variance of the height function $H(0,t)$ for $\alpha \in [0,\frac23]$. Our proof combines techniques from arXiv:2111.03650, which treated the periodic KPZ equation, with Gibbsian line ensemble methods based on the probabilistic structure of the stationary measures developed in arXiv:2103.12253, arXiv:2105.15178, arXiv:2105.03946, arXiv:2306.05983, arXiv:2404.13444.

Concentration bounds for stochastic systems with singular kernels

This note is concerned with weakly interacting stochastic particle systems with possibly singular pairwise interactions. In this setting, we observe a connection between entropic propagation of chaos and exponential concentration bounds for the empirical measure of the system. In particular, we establish a variational upper bound for the probability of a certain rare event, and then use this upper bound to show that "controlled" entropic propagation of chaos implies an exponential concentration bound for the empirical measure. This connection allows us to infer concentration bounds for a class of singular stochastic systems through a simple adaptation of the arguments developed in Jabin and Wang (2018).

Homogenization of conditional slow-fast McKean-Vlasov SDEs

We study a fully-coupled system of conditional slow-fast McKean-Vlasov Stochastic Differential Equations that exhibit full dependence on both the slow and fast components, as well as on the conditional law of the slow component. Our aim is to derive convergence rates to its homogenized limit, without making periodicity assumptions. To prove our results, we utilize a perturbation method for equations posed in the Wasserstein space.

The Master Equation in a Bounded Domain under Invariance Conditions for the State Space

In this paper, we study the well-posedness (existence and uniqueness) of the Master Equation of Mean Field Games under invariance-type conditions, otherwise known as viability conditions for the controlled dynamics. The interior regularity of the solutions of the associated Mean Field Game system and its linearized version, which plays a crucial role in the proof of the existence, is obtained by the global regularity of the corresponding solutions in the Neumann boundary conditions case. Finally, we prove that the solution of the related Nash system converges to the solution of the Master Equation.
