Morita Equivalence and Spectral Triples on Noncommutative Orbifolds

Let $G$ be a finite group. Noncommutative geometry of unital $G$-algebras is studied. A geometric structure is determined by a spectral triple on the crossed product algebra associated with the group action. This structure is to be viewed as a representative of a noncommutative orbifold. Based on a study of classical orbifold groupoids, a Morita equivalence for the crossed product spectral triples is developed. Noncommutative orbifolds are Morita equivalence classes of the crossed product spectral triples. As a special case of this Morita theory one can study freeness of the $G$-action on the noncommutative level. In the case of a free action, the crossed product formalism reduced to the usual spectral triple formalism on the algebra of $G$-invariant functions.

Analysis of Twisted Supercharge Families on Product Manifolds

Twisted supercharge families on product manifolds $\mathbb{T} \times M$ have been applied in the analysis of the odd twisted K-theory. We shall suspend these families to the even twisted K-theory and solve their twisted families index problem. This is applied to give analytic representatives of the twisted K-theory classes on tori - including all the torsion classes.

Dirac Operators on Quantum Weighted Projective Spaces

The quantum weighted projective algebras $\mathbb{C}[\mathbb{WP}_{k,l,q}]$ are coinvariant subalgebras of the quantum group algebra $\mathbb{C}[SU_{q,2}]$. For each pair of indices $k,l$, two $2$-summable spectral triples will be constructed. The first one is an odd spectral triple based on coinvariant spinors on $\mathbb{C}[SU_{q,2}]$. The second one is an even spectral triple.

Spectral Triples on Proper Etale Groupoids

A proper etale Lie groupoid is modelled as a (noncommutative) spectral geometric space. The spectral triple is built on the algebra of smooth functions on the groupoid base which are invariant under the groupoid action. Stiefel-Whitney classes in Lie groupoid cohomology are introduced to measure the orientability of the tangent bundle and the obstruction to lift the tangent bundle to a spinor bundle. In the case of an orientable and spin Lie groupoid, an invariant spinor bundle and an invariant Dirac operator will be constructed. This data gives rise to a spectral triple. The algebraic orientability axiom in noncommutative geometry is reformulated to make it compatible with the geometric model.

Quantum Orbifolds

This is a study of orbifold-quotients of quantum groups (quantum orbifolds $Θ\rightrightarrows G_q$). These structures have been studied extensively in the case of the quantum $SU_2$ group. I will introduce a generalized mechanism which allows one to construct quantum orbifolds from any compact simple and simply connected quantum group. Associated with a quantum orbifold there is an invariant subalgebra as well as a crossed product algebra. For each spin quantum orbifold, there is a unitary equivalence class of Dirac spectral triples over the invariant subalgebra, and for each effective spin quantum orbifold associated with a finite group action, there is a unitary equivalence class of Dirac spectral triples over the crossed product algebra. As an application I will study a Hopf-equivariant Fredholm index problem.

On Noncommutative Geometry of Orbifolds

An orbifold is a Morita equivalence class of a proper {\' e}tale Lie groupoid. A unitary equivalence class of spectral triples over the algebra of smooth invariant functions are associated with any compact spin orbifold. In the case of an effective spin orbifold we construct a collection of spectral triples over the smooth convolution algebras of the representatives of the Morita equivalence class.

Twisted K-theory constructions in the case of a decomposable Dixmier-Douady class II: Topological and equivariant models

This is a study of twisted K-theory on a product space $T \times M$. The twisting comes from a decomposable cup product class which applies the 1-cohomology of $T$ and the 2-cohomology of $M$. In the case of a topological product, we give a concrete realization for the gerbe associated to a cup product characteristic class and use this to realize twisted $K^1$-theory elements in terms of supercharge sections in a Fredholm bundle. The nontriviality of this construction is proved. Equivariant twisted K-theory and gerbes are studied in the product case as well. This part applies Lie groupoid theory. Superconnection formalism is used to provide a construction for characteristic polynomials which are used to extract information from the twisted K-theory classes.

Twisted K-theory constructions in the case of a decomposable Dixmier-Douady class

Twisted K-theory on a manifold X, with twisting in the 3rd integral cohomology, is dis- cussed in the case when X is a product of a circle T and a manifold M. The twist is assumed to be decomposable as a cup product of the basic integral one form on T and an integral class in H2(M,Z). This case was studied some time ago by V. Mathai, R. Melrose, and I.M. Singer. Our aim is to give an explicit construction for the twisted K-theory classes using a quantum field theory model, in the same spirit as the supersymmetric Wess-Zumino-Witten model is used for constructing (equivariant) twisted K-theory classes on compact Lie groups.

Covariant Dirac Operators on Quantum Groups

We give a construction of a Dirac operator on a quantum group based on any simple Lie algebra of classical type. The Dirac operator is an element in the vector space $U_q(\g) \otimes \mathrm{cl}_q(\g)$ where the second tensor factor is a $q$-deformation of the classical Clifford algebra. The tensor space $ U_q(\g) \otimes \mathrm{cl}_q(\g)$ is given a structure of the adjoint module of the quantum group and the Dirac operator is invariant under this action. The purpose of this approach is to construct equivariant Fredholm modules and $K$-homology cycles. This work generalizes the operator introduced by Bibikov and Kulish in \cite{BK}.
