SSP-QST: Spectral Subspace Purification for Photonic Quantum State Tomography

Photonic quantum sensing often uses low-rank entangled probes such as Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ), Bell, and NOON states. Although these probes are ideally rank-1, practical quantum state tomography (QST) can produce density-matrix estimates with many small finite-shot and noise-induced eigenmodes. This eigenvalue contamination can increase the estimated entropy of the reconstruction and reduce the quantum Fisher information (QFI) available for downstream sensing, while fixed rank-1 purification can discard valid signal modes when real probes acquire additional signal modes. We introduce Spectral Subspace Purification for Quantum State Tomography (SSP-QST), a rank-adaptive post-processing layer for least-squares quantum state tomography (LS-QST). SSP-QST eigendecomposes the least-squares estimate, computes a Weyl-motivated noise floor from the measured spectrum and shot count, removes eigenmodes below this floor, and renormalises the retained subspace. It requires no rank prior, no iterative optimisation, and only one eigendecomposition. In Qiskit Aer simulations, SSP-QST achieves the highest fidelity among the tested non-iterative baselines across the evaluated probe ranks, with a maximum fidelity gain of $+0.584$. It also improves shot efficiency by at least $8\times$ within the tested range. These results show that SSP-QST can make photonic QST more reliable under finite-shot noise while providing a lightweight reconstruction primitive for feedback-oriented quantum sensing pipelines.

RAVEN: Radar Adaptive Vision Encoders for Efficient Chirp-wise Object Detection and Segmentation

This paper presents RAVEN, a computationally efficient deep learning architecture for FMCW radar perception. The method processes raw ADC data in a chirp-wise streaming manner, preserves MIMO structure through independent receiver state-space encoders, and uses a learnable cross-antenna mixing module to recover compact virtual-array features. It also introduces an early-exit mechanism so the model can make decisions using only a subset of chirps when the latent state has stabilized. Across automotive radar benchmarks, the approach reports strong object detection and BEV free-space segmentation performance while substantially reducing computation and end-to-end latency compared with conventional frame-based radar pipelines.

DeepEyeNet: Adaptive Genetic Bayesian Algorithm Based Hybrid ConvNeXtTiny Framework For Multi-Feature Glaucoma Eye Diagnosis

Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, emphasizing the critical need for early detection and intervention. In this paper, we present DeepEyeNet, a novel and comprehensive framework for automated glaucoma detection using retinal fundus images. Our approach integrates advanced image standardization through dynamic thresholding, precise optic disc and cup segmentation via a U-Net model, and comprehensive feature extraction encompassing anatomical and texture-based features. We employ a customized ConvNeXtTiny based Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) classifier, optimized using our Adaptive Genetic Bayesian Optimization (AGBO) algorithm. This proposed AGBO algorithm balances exploration and exploitation in hyperparameter tuning, leading to significant performance improvements. Experimental results on the EyePACS-AIROGS-light-V2 dataset demonstrate that DeepEyeNet achieves a high classification accuracy of 95.84%, which was possible due to the effective optimization provided by the novel AGBO algorithm, outperforming existing methods. The integration of sophisticated image processing techniques, deep learning, and optimized hyperparameter tuning through our proposed AGBO algorithm positions DeepEyeNet as a promising tool for early glaucoma detection in clinical settings.

A Comparative Analysis on Metaheuristic Algorithms Based Vision Transformer Model for Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease

A number of life threatening neuro-degenerative disorders had degraded the quality of life for the older generation in particular. Dementia is one such symptom which may lead to a severe condition called Alzheimer's disease if not detected at an early stage. It has been reported that the progression of such disease from a normal stage is due to the change in several parameters inside the human brain. In this paper, an innovative metaheuristic algorithms based ViT model has been proposed for the identification of dementia at different stage. A sizeable number of test data have been utilized for the validation of the proposed scheme. It has also been demonstrated that our model exhibits superior performance in terms of accuracy, precision, recall as well as F1-score.

Differential Evolution Algorithm based Hyper-Parameters Selection of Convolutional Neural Network for Speech Command Recognition

Speech Command Recognition (SCR), which deals with identification of short uttered speech commands, is crucial for various applications, including IoT devices and assistive technology. Despite the promise shown by Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) in SCR tasks, their efficacy relies heavily on hyper-parameter selection, which is typically laborious and time-consuming when done manually. This paper introduces a hyper-parameter selection method for CNNs based on the Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm, aiming to enhance performance in SCR tasks. Training and testing with the Google Speech Command (GSC) dataset, the proposed approach showed effectiveness in classifying speech commands. Moreover, a comparative analysis with Genetic Algorithm based selections and other deep CNN (DCNN) models highlighted the efficiency of the proposed DE algorithm in hyper-parameter selection for CNNs in SCR tasks.

Benchmarking Metaheuristic-Integrated QAOA against Quantum Annealing

The Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) is one of the most promising Noisy Intermediate Quantum Algorithms (NISQ) in solving combinatorial optimizations and displays potential over classical heuristic techniques. Unfortunately, QAOA performance depends on the choice of parameters and standard optimizers often fail to identify key parameters due to the complexity and mystery of these optimization functions. In this paper, we benchmark QAOA circuits modified with metaheuristic optimizers against classical and quantum heuristics to identify QAOA parameters. The experimental results reveal insights into the strengths and limitations of both Quantum Annealing and metaheuristic-integrated QAOA across different problem domains. The findings suggest that the hybrid approach can leverage classical optimization strategies to enhance the solution quality and convergence speed of QAOA, particularly for problems with rugged landscapes and limited quantum resources. Furthermore, the study provides guidelines for selecting the most appropriate approach based on the specific characteristics of the optimization problem at hand.
