Bounce, Turnaround, and the Anisotropy Problem in Cyclic Cosmology on a Brane with a Timelike Extra Dimension

We study cosmological bounces, turnarounds, and cyclic evolution on an anisotropic Bianchi-I brane embedded in a five-dimensional bulk with a \emph{timelike} extra dimension, within the Shtanov--Sahni braneworld framework. Restricting to the flat, dark-radiation-free, effective-$\Lambda$-free branch of the general anisotropic brane Friedmann equation, we drive the dynamics with a single canonical scalar field obeying the uniform-rate condition $\dot\phi=-\lambda=\mathrm{const}$, with shear anisotropy encoded through a geometric term $\Omega_\sigma(a)\propto a^{-6}$. We derive a general turning-point classification valid for any fluid obeying the null energy condition: turnarounds at negative energy density occur unconditionally, while bounces at $\rho>\rho_c$ occur only when the negative high-energy brane correction dominates the decelerating shear term. Specializing to the uniform-rate scalar, we obtain closed-form bounce and turnaround conditions, the leading-order excess of the bounce density above critical, and a matching condition for a finite cyclic branch connecting a bounce at $N_B$ to a turnaround at $N_T$. We identify post-bounce superinflationary and post-shear-dilution ordinary-inflationary regimes, compute the single-field curvature power spectrum, and derive parameter relations fixing $H_*$, $\lambda$, $\rho_c$, and the shear amplitude $\Sigma_g^2$ in terms of the observed amplitude $A_s$ and tilt $n_{s*}$. An explicit CMB-normalized parameter point shows that sustaining a long, weak-shear cyclic phase compatible with observations requires the shear amplitude suppressed by $10^{2}$--$10^{3}$ orders of magnitude below $H_*^2$, depending sensitively on the pivot density fraction $x_*=\rho_{\phi*}/\rho_c$. We discuss the physical origin of this anisotropy problem, its parametric dependence, and the status of the periodicity condition required for a genuinely cyclic $V(\phi)$.

Advancing Resource Extraction Systems in Martian Volcanic Terrain: Rover Design, Power Consumption and Hazard Analysis

This study proposes a schematic plan for in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) in Martian volcanic terrains. The work investigated the complexity of volcanic terrains and Martian environmental hazards and suggested comprehensive engineering strategies to overcome the odds and establish a successful mining program in Martian volcanic regions. Slope stabilization methods - such as terracing and anchored drilling rigs - with terrain-adaptive rovers capable of autonomous operations on steep unstable slopes has been suggested as feasible solutions to navigate the complex geological terrains of Martian volcanoes. The mid range rover design with a mass of approximately 2.1 t, proposed here for mining operations, incorporates a six-wheel rocker-bogie suspension, anchoring-enabled drilling arm, dust-mitigation solar arrays, and advanced sensing systems for hazard detection and navigation. A comparative analysis regarding choice of roads and rails for building transport infrastructure has also been performed. We have also looked into the energy requirement of the rover to work under extreme environmental conditions of Mars and suggested a combination of solar and nuclear power to account for the huge energy requirements of sustained operations on Mars. The results demonstrate that mission success in these environments depends on integrating mechanical resilience, environmental adaptability, and operational autonomy, enabling sustainable access to resources in one of Mars' most geologically challenging settings.

Interacting Dark Energy: New parametrization and observational constraints

We have re-investigated Cosmology involving interaction between Dark matter and Dark Energy in the light of a new parametrization. The new parametrization is based on the hypothesis that when Dark matter and Dark Energy will interact, Dark matter will dilute in a different manner than standard non-interacting scenario. We re-built the Cosmological equations with this new parametrization. Observational constraints on the traditional Cosmological parameters and new parameters has also been obtained by using supernova data from Pantheon and Hubble data. The parameter values obtained are $H_0$ = 69.023 $\pm$ 0.722, $M$ = -19.385 $\pm$ 0.019, $I$ = 2.901 $\pm$ 0.092 and $\Omega_{dm0}(1 - \frac{3}{I})\frac{1}{\kappa}$ = 0.254 $\pm$ 0.023 where $H_0$, $M$, $\Omega_{dm0}$ and $\kappa$ are Hubble constant, absolute magnitude of type 1a supernova, present day dark matter density and coupling parameter between dark matter and dark energy respectively while $I$ is a new parameter, dubbed dilution parameter which we introduced in the model representing the modified dilution of dark matter in the interacting scenario. The physical features of the model in regard to evolution of the Universe, deceleration parameter, age of Universe, particle physics implications of interacting scenario has also been explored in depth and conclusions has been drawn.

Phenomenological Dark Energy model with hybrid dynamic Cosmological Constant

We investigate Dark Energy by associating it with vacuum energy or Cosmological constant ${\Lambda}$ which is taken to be dynamic in nature. Our approach is phenomenological and falls within the domain of variable-$\Lambda$ Cosmology. However, motivated by quantum theory of metastable vacuum decay, we proposed a new phenomenological decay law of $\Lambda$(t) where $\Lambda$(t) is a superposition of constant and variable components viz. $\Lambda$(t) = $\Lambda_{C}$ + $\Lambda_{v}$ which is indicated by the word $"$hybrid dynamic$"$ in the title. By taking a simplified two-fluid scenario with the Universe consisting of Dark Energy and another major component, we found the solutions for three particular phenomenological expressions and made a parametrization of the model in terms of dilution parameter (the dilution parameter has been defined in the text as the exponent of scale factor in the expression of density of the other major component, representing the dilution of the component with the expansion of Universe in the presence of dynamic Dark Energy). For pressureless Dust and dynamic Dark Energy Universe, we found the present-day matter density ($\Omega_{m0}$) and dilution parameter (u) to be $\Omega_{m0}$ = 0.29 $\pm$ 0.03, u = 2.90 $\pm$ 0.54 at 1 $\sigma$ by analysing 580 supernova from Union 2.1 catalogue. The physical features of the model in regard to scale factor evolution, deceleration parameter, cosmic age has also been studied and parallels have been drawn with $\Lambda$CDM model. The status of Cosmological problems in the model has also been checked which showed that the model solves the Cosmological Constant Problem but the Coincidence problem still exists in the model.
