Visible and Invisible Pseudoscalar Meson Decays from Anomaly Sum Rules

The decays of pseudoscalar mesons to real and virtual photons as well as neutrino-antineutrino pairs are considered in the framework of the dispersive method based on Anomaly Sum Rules. The contribution of singlet channel involving the new non-perturbative gluon form factor of virtual photon $B(q^2)$ is systematically taken into account. The detailed analysis of its dependence on photon virtuality $q^2$ relying on the available data for meson transition fomfactors is performed. It is shown that B has quite a nontrivial structure at $q^2 \sim 1 GeV^2$ which may be a signal of the existence of pseudoscalar glueball with a mass about 1.5-2 GeV. The calculation of the decay to $\nu \bar \nu$ pairs leads to the compatibility with the result of Arnellos, Marciano and Parsa of 1982, when pion decay is considered neglecting the mixing effects. The account for these effects results, however, in the enhancement of pion branching ratio by a factor of 3, while that for eta decay is larger by several orders of magnitude. It is stressed, that dependence on the pair invariant mass is entirely defined by QCD and coincides with that of the meson transition form factor. The role of obtained results for the physics at HHaS detector at HIAF is discussed.

Non-Abelian axial anomaly, axial-vector duality, and the pseudoscalar glueball

We generalize the dispersive approach to axial anomaly by A.D. Dolgov and V.I. Zakharov to a non-Abelian case with arbitrary photon virtualites. We derive the anomaly sum rule for the singlet current and obtain the $\pi^0,\eta,\eta'\rightarrow\gamma\gamma^*$ transition form factors. Using them, we established the behavior of a nonperturbative gluon matrix element $\langle 0 |G\tilde{G} |\gamma\gamma^*(q^2) \rangle$ in both spacelike and timelike regions. We found a significant contribution of the non-Abelian axial anomaly to the processes with one virtual photon, comparable to that of the electromagnetic anomaly. The duality between the axial and the vector channels was observed: the values of duality intervals and mixing parameters in the axial channel were related to vector resonances' masses and residues. The possibility of a light pseudoscalar glueball-like state is conjectured.

Dispersive approach to non-Abelian axial anomaly

Manifestations of strong and electromagnetic axial anomalies in two-photon decays of $\eta$ and $\eta'$ mesons are studied. Applying dispersive approach to axial anomaly in the singlet current, we obtain an anomaly sum rule containing strong and electromagnetic anomaly contributions. The relevant low energy theorem was generalized to the case of mixed states and used to evaluate the subtraction constant of the strong anomaly-related form factor $\langle 0 |G\tilde{G} |\gamma\gamma \rangle$. We made a numerical estimation of the contributions of gluon and electromagnetic anomalies to the two-photon decays of $\eta$ and $\eta'$ mesons and found significant suppression of the gluon anomaly contribution.

Search for short strings in~$e^+e^-$-annihilation

In this work the behavior of power corrections to Adler finction in operator product expansion (OPE) is studied, in particular the possible contribution of operator of dimension 2. The OPE terms of dimension 4 and 6 are taken into account. Various experimental data on reactions of $e^+e^-$-annihilation to pion channels ($\pi^+\pi^-$, $2\pi^+2\pi^-$, $\pi^+\pi^-2\pi^0$, $3\pi^+3\pi^-$, $2\pi^+2\pi^-2\pi^0$) are used. The high-precision fits of the experimental data are obtained and used. The method based on Borel transform of Adler function is applied. It is shown that the contribution of operator of dimension 2 is negative being compatible to zero at three standard deviations level. The strong (anti)corellation between short string and local gluon condensate is found.

Axial anomaly and vector meson dominance model

The dispersive representation of axial anomaly leads to the anomaly sum rules (ASRs), exact nonperturbative relations in QCD. The analytical continuation of the ASRs to the time-like region is performed. The transition form factors of $\pi^0$, $\eta$ and $\eta'$ mesons in this region are calculated. A good agreement with the available experimental data is found. Based on the ASRs, we have provided the foundations for the vector meson dominance model in these processes.

Transition form factors of $\pi^0$, $\eta$ and $\eta'$ mesons: What can be learned from anomaly sum rule?

We have studied the applications of the anomaly sum rule to the transition form factors of light pseudoscalar mesons: $\pi^0$, $\eta$ and $\eta'$. This nonperturbative QCD approach can be used even if the QCD factorization is broken. The possibility of small non-OPE corrections to the spectral density in view of the recent BaBar and Belle data is explored. The accuracy of the applied method and the role of the quark mass contributions are discussed.

Axial Anomaly and Light Cone Distributions

Axial anomaly leads to exact sum rules for transition form factors providing the important constraints to respective distribution amplitudes. This rigorous NPQCD approach is valid even if QCD factorization is broken. The status of possible small non-OPE corrections to continuum in comparison to BABAR and BELLE data is discussed.

Transition Form Factors and Mixing of Pseudoscalar Mesons from Anomaly Sum Rule

Transition form factors of pi^0, eta, eta' mesons are investigated by means of the anomaly sum rule -- an exact nonperturbative relation which follows from the dispersive representation of the axial anomaly. Considering the problem of contributions of operators originated from a non-(local) operator product expansion, we found that they are required by the available set of experimental data, including the most recent data from the Belle Collaboration (which, if taken alone, can be described without such contributions, although are compatible with them). In this approach we analyzed the experimental data on eta and eta' meson transition form factors and obtained the constraints on the decay constants and mixing parameters.

Quark-hadron duality, axial anomaly and mixing

Interplay between axial anomaly and quark-hadron duality in the presence of strong mixing is considered. The anomaly sum rule for meson transition form factors based on the dispersive representation of axial anomaly and quark-hadron duality in octet channel is analyzed. The comparison of this sum rule to the experimental data on $\eta$ and $\eta'$ mesons transition form factors shows that the interval of duality in this channel is rather small, contradicting the usual understanding of quark-hadron duality. The same values of interval of duality are supported by considering the two-point correlator in the local duality limit. This contradiction may be resolved by introducing of some nonperturbative non-OPE correction to the relevant spectral density. The form and value of this correction are discussed.

Axial Anomaly and Transition Formfactors

We study photon-meson transition formfactors of light mesons in the kinematics, where one photon is real and other is virtual. Dispersive approach to axial anomaly leads to the anomaly sum rule. The absence of corrections to it allows us to get the relation between possible corrections to continuum and to lower states within QCD method which does not rely on factorization hypothesis. We show, relying on the recent data of the BaBar Collaboration, that the relative correction to continuum is quite small, and small correction to continuum can dramatically change the pion formfactor. The same effect for {\eta} meson is shown to be less pronounced.
