Pseudo-superconducting-diode effect in ferroelectric Josephson junctions

The superconducting diode effect (SDE), characterized by unequal critical supercurrents in opposite current directions, enables supercurrent rectification. We propose a magnetic-field-free pseudo-superconducting-diode effect in ferroelectric Josephson junctions with broken inversion symmetry. Using a coupled dynamical model that combines a polarization-dependent RCSJ description with Landau-Khalatnikov-Tani ferroelectric dynamics, we show that ferroelectric polarization switching induces asymmetric critical and retrapping currents under current sweeps. The resulting nonreciprocity is highly tunable via ferroelectric parameters and the sweep protocol and remains robust at finite temperatures. Our work identifies ferroelectric Josephson junctions as a promising platform for magnetic-field-free nonreciprocal superconducting devices.

Isofrequency spin-wave imaging using color center magnetometry for magnon spintronics

Magnon spintronics aims to harness spin waves in magnetic films for information technologies. Color center magnetometry is a promising tool for imaging spin waves, using electronic spins associated with atomic defects in solid-state materials as sensors. However, two main limitations persist: the magnetic fields required for spin-wave control detune the sensor-spin detection frequency, and this frequency is further restricted by the color center nature. Here, we overcome these limitations by decoupling the sensor spins from the spin-wave control fields -selecting color centers with intrinsic anisotropy axes orthogonal to the film magnetization- and by using color centers in diamond and hexagonal boron nitride to operate at complementary frequencies. We demonstrate isofrequency imaging of field-controlled spin waves in a magnetic half-plane and show how intrinsic magnetic anisotropies trigger bistable spin textures that govern spin-wave transport at device edges. Our results establish color center magnetometry as a versatile tool for advancing spin-wave technologies.

Magnon-magnon interaction induced by nonlinear spin wave dynamics

We experimentally and theoretically demonstrate that nonlinear spin-wave dynamics can induce an effective resonant interaction between non-resonant magnon modes in a yttrium iron garnet disk. Under strong pumping near the ferromagnetic resonance mode, we observe a spectral splitting that emerges with increasing drive amplitude. This phenomenon is well captured by a theoretical framework based on the linearization of a magnon three-wave mixing Hamiltonian, which at high power leads to parametric Suhl instabilities. The access and control of nonlinear magnon-parametric processes enables the development of experimental platforms in an unexplored parameter regime for both classical and quantum computation protocols.
