Spectral Decimation of Quantum Many-Body Hamiltonians

We develop a systematic theory of spectral decimation for quantum many-body Hamiltonians and show that it provides a quantitative probe of emergent symmetries in statistically mixed spectra. Building on an analytical description of statistical mixtures, we derive an explicit expression for the size of a characteristic symmetry sector (CSS), defined as the largest subsequence of levels exhibiting non-Poissonian correlations. The CSS dimension is shown to be the size-biased average of the underlying symmetry sectors, establishing a direct link between spectral statistics and Hilbert-space structure. We apply this framework to two paradigmatic settings: Hilbert-space fragmentation and disorder-induced many-body localization (MBL). In fragmented systems, the CSS reproduces the mixture prediction and isolates correlated subsectors even when the full spectrum appears nearly Poissonian. In the disordered Heisenberg chain, spectral decimation reveals the gradual emergence of integrability through a shrinking CSS, whose statistics exhibit signatures consistent with local integrals of motion. We introduce a characteristic symmetry entropy (CSE) as a finite-size scaling observable and extract, within accessible system sizes, the crossover exponents. Our results establish spectral decimation as a controlled, unbiased and computationally inexpensive diagnostic of hidden structure in many-body spectra, capable of distinguishing between chaotic dynamics, statistical mixtures, and emergent integrability.

Variational Method in Quantum Field Theory

We develop a variational framework for addressing two-dimensional non-integrable quantum field theories through the exact structure of their integrable counterparts. Concentrating on the $\varphi^4$ Landau-Ginzburg model, we use the analytical Vacuum Expectation Values and Form Factors of local operators in the sinh-Gordon theory as the foundation of a variational ansatz. In this way, we obtain controlled estimates of central physical quantities of the $\varphi^4$ theory - such as the finite-volume ground-state energy and the physical mass as a function of the coupling constant. The strengths of the variational methods are leveraged in combination with the Hamiltonian truncation techniques and the LeClair-Mussardo formula, which also allow to probe the accuracy of the variational approximation varying the system size. Within the weak-coupling regime, a detailed numerical analysis reveals the behaviour of the finite-volume spectrum, the ground-state energy, and the elastic part of the scattering matrix, showing how the rigorous machinery of integrable models can serve as a guiding light into the complex landscape of non-integrable quantum field dynamics.

Statistical Signatures of Integrable and Non-Integrable Quantum Hamiltonians

Integrability is a cornerstone of classical mechanics, where it has a precise meaning. Extending this notion to quantum systems, however, remains subtle and unresolved. In particular, deciding whether a quantum Hamiltonian - viewed simply as a matrix - defines an integrable system is far from obvious, yet crucial for understanding non-equilibrium dynamics, spectral correlations, and correlation functions in many-body physics. We develop a statistical framework that approaches quantum integrability from a probabilistic standpoint. A key observation is that integrability requires a finite probability of vanishing energy gaps. Building on this, we propose a two-step protocol to distinguish integrable from non-integrable Hamiltonians. First, we apply a systematic Monte Carlo decimation of the spectrum, which exponentially compresses the Hilbert space and reveals whether level spacings approach Poisson statistics or remain mixed. The termination point of this decimation indicates the statistical character of the spectrum. Second, we analyze $k$-step gap distributions, which sharpen the distinction between Poisson and mixed statistics. Our procedure applies to Hamiltonians of any finite size, independent of whether their structure involves a few blocks or an exponentially fragmented Hilbert space. As a benchmark, we implement the protocol on quantum Hamiltonians built from the permutation group $\mathcal{S}_N$, demonstrating both its effectiveness and generality.

Exact Spin Correlators of Integrable Quantum Circuits from Algebraic Geometry

We calculate the correlation functions of strings of spin operators for integrable quantum circuits exactly. These observables can be used for calibration of quantum simulation platforms. We use algebraic Bethe Ansatz, in combination with computational algebraic geometry to obtain analytic results for medium-size (around 10-20 qubits) quantum circuits. The results are rational functions of the quantum circuit parameters. We obtain analytic results for such correlation functions both in the real space and Fourier space. In the real space, we analyze the short time and long time limit of the correlation functions. In Fourier space, we obtain analytic results in different parameter regimes, which exhibit qualitatively different behaviors. Using these analytic results, one can easily generate numerical data to arbitrary precision.

Finite temperature spin diffusion in the Hubbard model in the strong coupling limit

We investigate finite temperature spin transport in one spatial dimension by considering the spin-spin correlation function of the Hubbard model in the limiting case of infinitely strong repulsion. We find that in the absence of bias the transport is diffusive, and derive the spin diffusion constant. Our approach is based on asymptotic analysis of a Fredholm determinant representation. The obtained results are in agreement with Generalized Hydrodynamics approach.

Sub-lattice entanglement in an exactly solvable anyon-like spin ladder

We introduce an integrable spin ladder model and study its exact solution, correlation functions, and entanglement properties. The model supports two particle types (corresponding to the even and odd sub-lattices), such that the scattering phases are constants: particles of the same type scatter as free fermions, whereas the inter-particle phase shift is a constant tuned by an interaction parameter. Therefore, the spin ladder bears similarities with anyonic models. We present exact results for the spectrum and correlation functions, and we study the sub-lattice entanglement by numerical means.

Integrable hard rod deformation of the Heisenberg spin chains

We present new integrable models of interacting spin-1/2 chains, which can be interpreted as hard rod deformations of the XXZ Heisenberg chains. The models support multiple particle types: dynamical hard rods of length $\ell$ and particles with lengths $\ell'<\ell$ that are immobile except for the interaction with the hard rods. We encounter a remarkable phenomenon in these interacting models: exact spectral degeneracies across different deformations and volumes. The algebraic integrability of these systems is also treated using a recently developed formalism for medium range integrable spin chains. We present the detailed Bethe Ansatz solution for the case $\ell=2$.

An integrable spin chain with Hilbert space fragmentation and solvable real time dynamics

We revisit the so-called folded XXZ model, which was treated earlier by two independent research groups. We argue that this spin-1/2 chain is one of the simplest quantum integrable models, yet it has quite remarkable physical properties. The particles have constant scattering lengths, which leads to a simple treatment of the exact spectrum and the dynamics of the system. The Hilbert space of the model is fragmented, leading to exponentially large degeneracies in the spectrum, such that the exponent depends on the particle content of a given state. We provide an alternative derivation of the Hamiltonian and the conserved charges of the model, including a new interpretation of the so-called "dual model" considered earlier. We also construct a non-local map that connects the model with the Maassarani-Mathieu spin chain, also known as the SU(3) XX model. We consider the exact solution of the model with periodic and open boundary conditions, and also derive multiple descriptions of the exact thermodynamics of the model. We consider quantum quenches of different types. In one class of problems the dynamics can be treated relatively easily: we compute an example for the real time dependence of a local observable. In another class of quenches the degeneracies of the model lead to the breakdown of equilibration, and we argue that they can lead to persistent oscillations. We also discuss connections with the $T\bar T$- and hard rod deformations known from Quantum Field Theories.

Master equation for correlation functions in algebra symmetry $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ related models

We consider integrable models solved by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz and associated with $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ or $\mathfrak{gl}(3)$ algebra symmetry. The analogue of sum formulae, previously formulated for scalar products, is established for the form factors and correlation functions. These formulae are direct generalisation of the some earlier results derived for models with $\mathfrak{gl}(2)$ symmetric $R$-matrix. It is also shown that in the case of algebra symmetry $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ related models such formula allows to establish a multiple integral representation for correlation functions and form factors.

Integrability breaking in the one dimensional Bose gas: Atomic losses and energy loss

The one dimensional $δ$-function interacting Bose gas (the Lieb-Liniger model) is an integrable system, which can model experiments with ultra cold atoms in one dimensional traps. Even though the model is integrable, integrability breaking effects are always present in the real world experiments. In this work we consider the integrability breaking due to atomic loss, which is the most relevant effect in the experiments. We set up a framework for the exact computation of the losses of the canonical charges of the model, and compute an exact result for the energy loss due to the local $K$-body processes, valid for arbitrary $K$. Our result takes the form of multiple integrals, which are explicitly factorized in the experimentally relevant cases of $K=1,2,3$.

The LeClair-Mussardo series and nested Bethe Ansatz

We consider correlation functions in one dimensional quantum integrable models related to the algebra symmetries $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ and $\mathfrak{gl}(3)$. Using the algebraic Bethe Ansatz approach we develop an expansion theorem, which leads to an infinite integral series in the thermodynamic limit. The series is the generalization of the LeClair-Mussardo series to nested Bethe Ansatz systems, and it is applicable both to one-point and two-point functions. As an example we consider the ground state density-density correlator in the Gaudin-Yang model of spin-1/2 Fermi particles. Explicit formulas are presented in a special large coupling and large imbalance limit.

Multiple Actions of the Monodromy Matrix in $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$-Invariant Integrable Models

We study $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ symmetric integrable models solvable by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz. Using explicit formulas for the Bethe vectors we derive the actions of the monodromy matrix entries onto these vectors. We show that the result of these actions is a finite linear combination of Bethe vectors. The obtained formulas open a way for studying scalar products of Bethe vectors.
