On the Rudin-Blass Ordering of Measures

We study the Rudin-Blass (and the Rudin-Keisler) ordering on the finite additive measures on $ω$. We propose a generalization of the notion of Q-point and selective ultrafilter to measures: Q-measures and selective measures. We show some symmetries between Q-points and Q-measures but also we show where those symmetries break up. In particular we present an example of a measure which is minimal in the sense of Rudin-Blass but which is not a Q-measure.

Cardinal invariants of idealized Miller null sets

This paper provides an extensive study of the $\mathscr{I}$-Miller null ideals $M_\mathscr{I}$, $σ$-ideals on the Baire space parametrized by ideals $\mathscr{I}$ on countable sets. These $σ$-ideals are associated to the idealized versions of Miller forcing in the same way that the meager ideal is associated to Cohen forcing. We compute the cardinal invariants of $M_\mathscr{I}$ for typical examples of Borel ideals $\mathscr{I}$ and show that Cichoń's Maximum can be extended by adding the uniformity and covering numbers of $M_\mathscr{I}$ for different ideals $\mathscr{I}$.

A small Radon-Nikodým compact space from a parametrized diamond

A compact space $K$ is Radon-Nikodým if there is a lower semi-continuous metric fragmenting $K$. In this note, we show that, under $\diamondsuit (\mathrm{non}{\mathcal{M}})$, there is a Radon-Nikodým compact space of weight $\aleph_1$ with a continuous image that is not Radon-Nikodým, which partially answers a question posed in arXiv:1112.4152 [math.FA].

On ideals related to Laver and Miller trees

In this work we consider the ideals $m^0(\mathcal{I})$ and $\ell^0(\mathcal{I})$, ideals generated by the $\mathcal{I}$-positive Miller trees and $\mathcal{I}$-positive Laver trees, respectively. We investigate in which cases these ideals have cofinality larger than $\mathfrak{c}$ and we calculate some cardinal invariants closely related to these ideals.

On cardinal invariants related to Rosenthal families and large-scale topology

Given a function $f \in ω^ω$, a set $A \in [ω]^ω$ is free for $f$ if $f[A] \cap A$ is finite. For a class of functions $Γ\subseteq ω^ω$, we define $\mathfrak{ros}_Γ$ as the smallest size of a family $\mathcal{A}\subseteq [ω]^ω$ such that for every $f\inΓ$ there is a set $A \in \mathcal{A}$ which is free for $f$, and $Δ_Γ$ as the smallest size of a family $\mathcal{F}\subseteqΓ$ such that for every $A\in[ω]^ω$ there is $f\in\mathcal{F}$ such that $A$ is not free for $f$. We compare several versions of these cardinal invariants with some of the classical cardinal characteristics of the continuum. Using these notions, we partially answer some questions from arXiv:1911.01336 [math.LO] and arXiv:2004.01979 [math.GN].

Michael Spaces and Ultrafilters

A Michael space is a Lindelöf space which has a non-Lindelöf product with the Baire space. In this work, we present the notion of Michael ultrafilter and we use it to construct a Michael space under the existence of a selective ultrafilter and $\max \{ \mathfrak{b}, \mathfrak{g} \} =\mathfrak{d}$.

Rosenthal families, pavings and generic cardinal invariants

Following D. Sobota we call a family $\mathcal F$ of infinite subsets of $\mathbb N$ a Rosenthal family if it can replace the family of all infinite subsets of $\mathbb N$ in classical Rosenthal's Lemma concerning sequences of measures on pairwise disjoint sets. We resolve two problems on Rosenthal families: every ultrafilter is a Rosenthal family and the minimal size of a Rosenthal family is exactly equal to the reaping cardinal $\mathfrak r$. This is achieved through analyzing nowhere reaping families of subsets of $\mathbb N$ and through applying a paving lemma which is a consequence of a paving lemma concerning linear operators on $\ell_1^n$ due to Bourgain. We use connections of the above results with free set results for functions on $\mathbb N$ and with linear operators on $c_0$ to determine the values of several other derived cardinal invariants.
