A Three-Tier Persona Vector for Controllable User Simulation in Agentic Evaluation

Evaluating tool-augmented LLM agents requires diverse, realistic user inputs yet most evaluation frameworks use flat role descriptions ("you are an angry customer") that produce near-identical conversations regardless of the underlying scenario. In this paper, we propose a three-tier persona vector with 23 operationalized dimensions: 6 categorical demographics (jurisdiction, age, channel, device, language proficiency, time availability), 12 continuous behavioral traits (patience, assertiveness, digital literacy, etc.) sampled with Gaussian noise around curated profile base vectors, and 5 continuous emotional states (frustration, anxiety, trust, confidence, stress) that shift in response to scenario context. Orthogonal to the persona, a 4-level query-complexity overlay controls utterance phrasing from direct to deliberately vague. We evaluate the persona model inside a synthetic data generation pipeline across 64,698 multi-turn conversations spanning 8 named profiles and 3 production corpora. Key findings: (i) a 15.8 percentage-point spread in agent goal-achievement across personas confirms trait vectors produce measurably different user behavior; (ii) the same persona behaves differently across scenarios due to scenario-reactive emotional state shifts, validating the scenario-reactive design; (iii) domain-specific projects show persona sensitivity on booking-flow compliance (~15-20 percentage points gap between tier-aware and pressure-test personas), demonstrating the model faithfully reproduces real-world difficulty distributions; (iv) seven rule-described trait correlations produce auditable co-occurrence patterns without requiring learned covariance matrices. The persona model is fully specified for reproduction.

AgentWorld: Personality-Aware Reliability Evaluation for Agentic Information Retrieval

Evaluation of agentic information retrieval remains limited to scripted interactions with uniform users, missing both natural personality diversity and adversarial brittleness. We present AgentWorld, a simulation framework combining (i)Big Five (OCEAN) personality-driven user populations with stateful tool-use environments; (ii)the pass$^k$ consistency metric with structured fault classification, partial-credit scoring, and dual-control handoff verification; (iii)score-thresholded training-data export in six fine-tuning formats; and (iv)an adversarial Risk Analyser that snapshots required-intermediate-state spines, branches Monte-Carlo rollouts under four task-aware perturbation types, and quantifies risk via $\Delta P / \Delta T$ scoring, Dempster--Shafer evidence fusion, and Shapley attack-category attribution. Three experiments demonstrate the framework: a conversational analytics agent across 10 OCEAN personas (240 evaluator judgments); a customer-support agent across 5 tasks $\times$ 4 persona variants; and adversarial stress-testing of 5 tasks revealing pre-existing trajectory brittleness ($V_{\min}=0.375$ without perturbation) and tool/infrastructure-layer attack dominance (Shapley: 46% system, 38% action). Personality variation surfaces failure modes uniform testing cannot expose---cross-domain leakage, contextual drift, a 0.27-point quality gap, and 50% vs. 100% pass-rate across personas on the same task---while the Risk Analyser quantifies trajectory-level brittleness that pass$^k$ alone cannot measure.

Numerical study of boiling of Liquid Nitrogen on a liquid-liquid contact plane

In this paper, a numerical study is conducted to investigate boiling of a cryogen on a solid surface as well as on a liquid surface. Both single mode and multi-mode boiling is reported for boiling on to a solid surface. In case of boiling on a liquid surface, liquid nitrogen is selected as the cryogen (boiling fluid) and water is chosen as the base fluid (heating fluid). Different flow instabilities and their underlying consequences during boiling of a cryogen are also discussed. For the boiling on a solid surface, in the single mode, bubble growth, its departure, and area weighted average heat flux are reported, where they increase linearly with increase in the wall superheat. Asymmetry in the bubble growth and departure of 2nd batch of the vapor bubbles have been observed due to local fluctuations and turbulence created just after the pinch off of the 1st batch of vapor bubbles in case of multi-mode boiling on the solid surface. Boiling of LN2 on a liquid surface is reported for a base fluid (Water) temperature of 300 K. Vapor film thickness decreases with time and the minimum film thickness just before rupture is 7.62 micrometer, dominance of thermocapillary over vapor thrust causes breaking of the vapor film at 0.0325s. The difference in evaporation rate and vapor generation, before and after vapor film collapse is significant.

Investigation of the dynamics of inner gas during bursting of a bubble at the free surface

In the present study, simulations are directed to capture the dynamics of evacuating inner gas of a bubble bursting at the free surface, using Eulerian based volume of fluid (VOF) method. The rate by which surrounding air rushing inside the bubble cavity through the inner gas evacuation is estimated and compared by the collapsing bubble cavity during the sequential stages of the bubble bursting at the free surface. Further, the reachability of inner gas over the free surface is evaluated by establishing the comparison of the same through various horizontal planes, lying at different altitudes above the unperturbed surface. The evacuating inner gas accompanies vortex rings, which entrains the surrounding gas-phase. During the successive stages of air entrainment, spatiotemporal characteristics of the vortex ring are obtained. At low Bond numbers (< 1), after comparing the phase contours of evacuating inner gas from the bubble cavity, the consequences at the axial growth of gas jet and the radial expansion of the jet tip is discussed separately. Furthermore, under the respiration process, the axial growth of rising inner gas over the free surface and the radial expansion of vortex rings of a bubble bursting at the free surface is compared with the quiescent surrounding air. At last, the effects of various possible asymmetric perforation of the bubble cap keeping the same Bo are studied. The cause of bent gas jet, as a consequence of perforation of the bubble cap, asymmetrically, is explained by plotting the velocity vectors.
