Examples of finitely determined map-germs of corank 2 from $n$-space to $(n+1)$-space

We produce new examples supporting the Mond conjecture which can be stated as follows. The number of parameters needed for a miniversal unfolding of a finitely determined map-germ from $n$-space to $(n+1)$-space is less than (or equal to if the map-germ is weighted homogeneous) the rank of the $n$th homology group of the image of a stable perturbation of the map-germ. We give examples of finitely determined map-germs of corank 2 from 3-space to 4-space satisfying the conjecture. We introduce a new type of augmentations to generate series of finitely determined map-germs in dimensions $(n,n+1)$ from a given one in dimensions $(n-1,n)$. We present more examples in dimensions $(4,5)$ and $(5,6)$ based on our examples, and verify the conjecture for them.

Nonisolated forms of rational triple point singularities of surfaces and their resolutions

The work is a detailed study of rational singularities of multiplicity 3 (RTP-singularities, for short). We give a list of nonisolated hypersurface singularities of which normalisations are the RTP-singularities, and construct their minimal resolution graphs by means of a subdivision of Newton polygons of those -- a method introduced by M. Oka for isolated complete intersection singularities. We show that nonisolated forms of RTP-singularities and their normalisations are both Newton non-degenerate.

Free resolutions for multiple point spaces

Let f be a map-germ of corank 1 from complex n-space to complex (n+1)-space, and, for k less than or equal to the multiplicity of f, let $D^k(f)$ be its k'th multiple-point scheme -- the closure of the set of ordered k-tuples of pairwise distinct points sharing the same image. There are natural projections from $D^{k+1}(f)$ to $D^k(f)$, determined by forgetting one member of the (k+1)-tuple. We prove that the matrix of a presentation of $\OO_{D^{k+1}(f)}$ over $\OO_{D^k(f)}$ appears as a certain submatrix of the matrix of a suitable presentation of $\OO_{\CC^n}$ over $\OO_{\CC^{n+1}}$. This does not happen for germs of corank greater than 1.
