In this paper it is shown that dynamics based on a variation of the gravitational constant $G$ with time solves several puzzling and anomalous features observed, for example the rotation curves of galaxies (attributed to as yet undetected Dark matter). It is also pointed out that this provides an explanation for the anomalous acceleration of the Pioneer space crafts observed by J.D.Anderson and co-workers.
Two types of population models are well known -- the continuous and the discrete types.The two have very different characteristics and methods of solutions and analysis.In this note, we point out that an iterative technique when applied to the continuous case mimics, surprisingly the discrete theory. The implication is that techniques and conclusions of the latter theory can now be applied to the former case (and vice versa).
In this paper we consider the well-known cyclical model for climate change, for example from glaciation to the present day and back, and compare this with a two-state model in Quantum Mechanics. We establish the full correspondence.
We consider the Ricatti equation in the context of population dynamics, quantum scattering and a more general context. We examine some exactly solvable cases of real life interest.
Oscillating population model realistic situations in different contexts.We examine this situation with reasonable mathematical models and come to interesting conclusions,such as for example,that the population at most points of the cycle approximately equals half the maximum attainable population.
