A $ϕ_{1,3}$-filtration of the Virasoro minimal series M(p,p') with 1<p'/p< 2

The filtration of the Virasoro minimal series representations M^{(p,p')}_{r,s} induced by the (1,3)-primary field $ϕ_{1,3}(z)$ is studied. For 1< p'/p< 2, a conjectural basis of M^{(p,p')}_{r,s} compatible with the filtration is given by using monomial vectors in terms of the Fourier coefficients of $ϕ_{1,3}(z)$. In support of this conjecture, we give two results. First, we establish the equality of the character of the conjectural basis vectors with the character of the whole representation space. Second, for the unitary series (p'=p+1), we establish for each $m$ the equality between the character of the degree $m$ monomial basis and the character of the degree $m$ component in the associated graded module Gr(M^{(p,p+1)}_{r,s}) with respect to the filtration defined by $ϕ_{1,3}(z)$.

Sets of rigged paths with Virasoro characters

Let \{M_{r,s}\}_{0< r < p, 0< s < p'} be the irreducible Virasoro modules in the $(p,p')$-minimal series. In our previous paper, we have constructed a monomial basis of \oplus_{r=1}^{p-1}M_{r,s} in the case of $1 , where ϕ_{-n}^{(r',r)} are the Fourier components of the (2,1)-primary field mapping M_{r,s} to M_{r',s}, and |r_0,s > is the highest weight vector of M_{r_0,s}. In this article, for all p 2 and s=1, we describe a subset of such monomials which conjecturally forms a basis of \oplus_{r=1}^{p-1}M_{r,1}. We prove that the character of the combinatorial set labeling these monomials coincides with the character of the corresponding Virasoro module. We also verify the conjecture in the case of p=3.

Combinatorics and Geometry of Higher Level Weyl Modules

A higher level analog of Weyl modules over multi-variable currents is proposed. It is shown that the sum of their dual spaces form a commutative algebra. The structure of these modules and the geometry of the projective spectrum of this algebra is studied for the currents of dimension one and two. Along the way we prove some particular cases of the conjectures in [FL1] and propose a generalization of the notion of parking function representations.

Homological realization of the restricted Kostka polynomials

In this paper we give two realizations of the restricted Kostka polynomials for $\sl_2$. Firstly we identify the restricted Kostka polynomials with a characters of the zero homology of the current algebra with a coefficients in a certain modules. As a corollary we reobtain the alternating sum formula. Secondly we show that the restricted Kostka polynomials are a $q$-multiplicities of the decomposition of the certain integrable $\hat{\sl}_2$-modules to the irreducible components. This allows to write a kind of fermionic formula for the Virasoro unitary models.

Principle subspace for bosonic vertex operator $ϕ_{\sqrt{2m}}(z)$ and Jack polynomials

Let $ϕ_{\sqrt{2m}}(z)=\sum_{n\in\Z} a_n z^{-n-m}, m\in\N$ be bosonic vertex operator, $L$ some irreducible representation of the vertex algebra $\A_{(m)}$, associated with one-dimensional lattice $\Zl$, generated by vector $l$, $\bra l,l \ket=2m$. Fix some extremal vector $v\in L$. We study the principle subspace $\C[a_i]_{i\in\Z}\cdot v$ and its finitization $\C[a_i]_{i>N}\cdot v$. We construct their bases and find characters. In the case of finitization basis is given in terms of Jack polynomials.

A monomial basis for the Virasoro minimal series M(p,p') : the case 1<p'/p<2

Quadratic relations of the intertwiners are given explicitly in two cases of chiral conformal field theory, and monomial bases of the representation spaces are constructed by using the Fourier components of the intertwiners. The two cases are the (p,p')-minimal series for the Virasoro algebra where 1<p'/p<2, and the level k integrable highest weight modules for the affine Lie algebra \hat{sl}_2.

Multi-dimensional Weyl Modules and Symmetric Functions

The Weyl modules in the sense of V.Chari and A.Pressley [CP] over the current Lie algebra on an affine variety are studied. We show that local Weyl modules are finite-dimensional and generalize the tensor product decomposition theorem from [CP]. More explicit results are stated for currents on a non-singular affine variety of dimension $d$ with coefficients in the Lie algebra $sl_r$. The Weyl modules with highest weights proportional to the vector representation one are related to the multi-dimensional analogs of harmonic functions. The dimensions of such local Weyl modules are calculated in the following cases. For $d=1$ we show that the dimensions are equal to powers of $r$. For $d=2$ we show that the dimensions are given by products of the higher Catalan numbers (the usual Catalan numbers for $r=2$). We finally formulate a conjecture for an arbitrary $d$ and $r=2$.

Schubert varieties and the fusion products

For each $A\in\N^n$ we define a Schubert variety $\sh_A$ as a closure of the $\Slt(\C[t])$-orbit in the projectivization of the fusion product $M^A$. We clarify the connection of the geometry of the Schubert varieties with an algebraic structure of $M^A$ as $\slt\otimes\C[t]$ modules. In the case when all the entries of $A$ are different $\sh_A$ is smooth projective algebraic variety. We study its geometric properties: the Lie algebra of the vector fields, the coordinate ring, the cohomologies of the line bundles. We also prove, that the fusion products can be realized as the dual spaces of the sections of these bundles.

Deformation of Weyl Modules and Generalized Parking Functions

Local Weyl modules over two-dimensional currents with values in $gl_r$ are deformed into spaces with bases related to parking functions. Using this construction we 1) propose a simple proof that dimension of the space of diagonal coinvariants is not less than the number of parking functions; 2) describe the limits of Weyl modules in terms of semi-infinite forms and find the limits of characters; 3) propose a lower bound and state a conjecture for dimensions of Weyl modules with arbitrary highest weights. Also we express characters of deformed Weyl modules in terms of $ρ$-parking functions and the Frobenius characteristic map.

A functional model for the tensor product of level 1 highest and level -1 lowest modules for the quantum affine algebra U_q(sl_{2}^)

Let $V(Λ_i)$ (resp., $V(-Λ_j)$) be a fundamental integrable highest (resp., lowest) weight module of $U_q(\hat{sl}_{2})$. The tensor product $V(Λ_i)\otimes V(-Λ_j)$ is filtered by submodules $F_n=U_q(\hat{sl}_{2})(v_i\otimes \bar{v}_{n-i})$, $n\ge 0, n\equiv i-j\bmod 2$, where $v_i\in V(Λ_i)$ is the highest vector and $\bar{v}_{n-i}\in V(-Λ_j)$ is an extremal vector. We show that $F_n/F_{n+2}$ is isomorphic to the level 0 extremal weight module $V(n(Λ_1-Λ_0))$. Using this we give a functional realization of the completion of $V(Λ_i)\otimes V(-Λ_j)$ by the filtration $(F_n)_{n\geq0}$. The subspace of $V(Λ_i)\otimes V(-Λ_j)$ of $sl_2$-weight $m$ is mapped to a certain space of sequences $(P_{n,l})_{n\ge 0, n\equiv i-j\bmod 2,n-2l=m}$, whose members $P_{n,l}=P_{n,l}(X_1,...,X_l|z_1,...,z_n)$ are symmetric polynomials in $X_a$ and symmetric Laurent polynomials in $z_k$, with additional constraints. When the parameter $q$ is specialized to $\sqrt{-1}$, this construction settles a conjecture which arose in the study of form factors in integrable field theory.

Two character formulas for $\hat{sl_2}$ spaces of coinvariants

We consider $\hat{sl_2}$ spaces of coinvariants with respect to two kinds of ideals of the enveloping algebra $U(sl_2\otimes\C[t])$. The first one is generated by $sl_2\otimes t^N$, and the second one is generated by $e\otimes P(t), f\otimes R(t)$ where $P(t), R(t)$ are fixed generic polynomials. (We also treat a generalization of the latter.) Using a method developed in our previous paper, we give new fermionic formulas for their Hilbert polynomials in terms of the level-restricted Kostka polynomials and $q$-multinomial symbols. As a byproduct, we obtain a fermionic formula for the fusion product of $sl_3$-modules with rectangular highest weights, generalizing a known result for symmetric (or anti-symmetric) tensors.

Fermionic formulas for (k, 3)-admissible configurations

We obtain the fermionic formulas for the characters of (k, r)-admissible configurations in the case of r=2 and r=3. This combinatorial object appears as a label of a basis of certain subspace $W(Λ)$ of level-$k$ integrable highest weight module of $\hat{sl}_{r}$. The dual space of $W(Λ)$ is embedded into the space of symmetric polynomials. We introduce a filtration on this space and determine the components of the associated graded space explicitly by using vertex operators. This implies a fermionic formula for the character of $W(Λ)$.

Particle content of the (k,3)-configurations

For all $k$, we construct a bijection between the set of sequences of non-negative integers ${\bf a}=(a_i)_{i\in{\bf Z}_{\geq0}}$ satisfying $a_i+a_{i+1}+a_{i+2}\leq k$ and the set of rigged partitions $(λ,ρ)$. Here $λ=(λ_1,...,λ_n)$ is a partition satisfying $k\geqλ_1\geq...\geqλ_n\geq1$ and $ρ=(ρ_1,...,ρ_n)\in{\bf Z}_{\geq0}^n$ is such that $ρ_j\geqρ_{j+1}$ if $λ_j=λ_{j+1}$. One can think of $λ$ as the particle content of the configuration ${\bf a}$ and $ρ_j$ as the energy level of the $j$-th particle, which has the weight $λ_j$. The total energy $\sum_iia_i$ is written as the sum of the two-body interaction term $\sum_{j N$.

Spaces of coinvariants and fusion product I. From equivalence theorem to Kostka polynomials

The fusion rule gives the dimensions of spaces of conformal blocks in the WZW theory. We prove a dimension formula similar to the fusion rulefor spaces of coinvariants of affine Lie algebras g^. An equivalence of filtered spaces is established between spaces of coinvariants of two objects: highest weight g^-modules and tensor products of finite-dimensional evaluation representations of g\otimes\C[t]. In the sl_2 case we prove that their associated graded spaces are isomorphic to the spaces of coinvariants of fusion products, and that their Hilbert polynomials are the level-restricted Kostka polynomials.

Spaces of coinvariants and fusion product II. Affine sl_2 character formulas in terms of Kostka polynomials

In this paper, we continue our study of the Hilbert polynomials of coinvariants begun in our previous work math.QA/0205324 (paper I). We describe the sl_n-fusion products for symmetric tensor representations following the method of Feigin and Feigin, and show that their Hilbert polynomials are A_{n-1}-supernomials. We identify the fusion product of arbitrary irreducible sl_n-modules with the fusion product of their resctriction to sl_{n-1}. Then using the equivalence theorem from paper I and the results above for sl_3, we give a fermionic formula for the Hilbert polynomials of a class of affine sl_2-coinvariants in terms of the level-restricted Kostka polynomials. The coinvariants under consideration are a generalization of the coinvariants studied in [FKLMM]. Our formula differs from the fermionic formula established in [FKLMM] and implies the alternating sum formula conjectured in [FL] for this case.

Symmetric polynomials vanishing on the diagonals shifted by roots of unity

For a pair of positive integers (k,r) with r>1 such that k+1 and r-1 are relatively prime, we describe the space of symmetric polynomials in variables x_1,...,x_n which vanish at all diagonals of codimension k of the form x_i=tq^{s_i}x_{i-1}, i=2,...,k+1, where t and q are primitive roots of unity of orders k+1 and r-1.

Symmetric polynomials vanishing on the shifted diagonals and Macdonald polynomials

For each pair (k,r) of positive integers with r>1, we consider an ideal I^(k,r)_n of the ring of symmetric polynomials in n variables. The ideal I_n^(k,r) has a basis consisting of Macdonald polynomials P(x_1,...,x_n;q,t) at t^{k+1}q^{r-1}=1, and is a deformed version of the one studied earlier in the context of Jack polynomials. In this paper we give a characterization of I^(k,r)_n in terms of explicit zero conditions on the k-codimensional shifted diagonals of the form x_{2}=tq^{s_1}x_1,...,x_{k+1}=tq^{s_k}x_k. The ideal I^(k,r)_n may be viewed as a deformation of the space of correlation functions of an abelian current of the affine Lie algebra \hat{sl_r}. We give a brief discussion about this connection.

Integrable $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}$-modules as infinite tensor products

Using the fusion product of the representations of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ we construct a set of the integrable highest weight $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}$-modules $L^D$, depending on the vector $D\in\mathbb{N}^{k+1}$. In a special cases of $D$ our modules are isomorphic to the irreducible $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}$-modules $L_{i,k}$. We construct a basis of the $L^D$ and study the decomposition of $L^D$ on the irreducible components. We also write a formulas for the characters of $L^D$.
