An Efficient Cluster-based Routing Protocol in Cognitive Radio Net-work

Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs) are being studied intensively and gaining importance as spectrum is the heavily underutilized. CRN has the capability to exploit smartly the unutilized frequency spectrum. Recently, the research community started to work in the area of cognitive radio routing. In a flat topology, all nodes are of the same level and functionality, thus making it simple and efficient for smaller networks. However, when the network is large with sparse nodes, the routing information becomes more complex making cluster-based techniques really relevant to tackle such situations. In a cluster-based routing, all nodes in the network are dynamically organized into partitions called groups or clusters. In each cluster, a cluster head is chosen to help in the data transmission management and to maintain cluster membership information. This paper proposes a novel routing protocol for cognitive radio ad hoc networks (CRAHNs) based on clustering model which amends swiftly to the topological changes and establishes the routing efficiently. Our proposed approach is thoroughly evaluated through simulation study. The results state the suitability of the proposed protocol for cognitive radio ad hoc networks and demonstrate that it has better performance in terms of finding the source-destination route, reducing the amount of messages that are transmitted all over the network and minimizing the routing delay.

Allocation de ressources dans un r{é}seau de radio cognitive en utilisant JADE

In this work, we are interested in the negotiation between several PU and several SU in a cognitive radio context by using multi-agent systems. So, we have implemented PU coalitions (CPU) and SU coalitions (CSU). We also used the multi-criteria decision (TOPSIS algorithm) to best meet the needs of SU.Management by coalitions and the aggregation technique that we have used in this context significantly reduce the number of messages exchanged in the network. Processing negotiations simultaneously by several CSU minimizes response time side SU.

Réseaux de radio cognitive : Allocation des ressources radio et accès dynamique au spectre

In the first chapter of this report, we provide an overview on mobile and wireless networks, with special focus on the IEEE 802.22 norm, which is a norm dedicated to cognitive radio (CR). Chapter 2 goes into detail about CR and Chapter 3 is devoted to the presentation of the concept of agents and in particular the concept of multi-agent systems (MAS). Finally, Chapter 4 provides a state of the art on the use of artificial intelligence techniques, particularly MAS for radio resource allocation and dynamic spectrum access in the field of CR.

Négociation de spectre dans les réseaux de radio cognitive

In this report, we propose a technique using negotiation based on multi-agent system (MAS) in the context of cognitive radio network (CRN). The agents are particularly suited to provide responsive solutions to complex problems such as the negotiation of the spectrum in CRN. We have implemented our proposed solution with JADE (Java Agent Development Framework) and we have also evaluate the proposed solution to show its interest.

Application des techniques d'enchères dans les réseaux de radio cognitive

The rapid proliferation of standards and radio services in recent years caused the problem of spectrum scarcity. The main objective of Cognitive Radio (CR) is to facilitate access to radio spectrum. Our contribution in this paper is the use of auctions to solve the problem of spectrum congestion in the context of CR, for that, we will combine the theory of auctions with multi-agent systems. Our approach has shown that it is preferable to use the Sealed-bid Auction with dynamic programming because this method has many advantages over other methods. --- La prolifération rapide de standards et services de radiocommunication ces dernières années provoquent le problème de la pénurie du spectre. Dans ce contexte, l'objectif principal de la Radio Cognitive (RC) est de faciliter l'accès au spectre radio. Notre contribution dans le cadre de ce papier est l'utilisation des enchères pour résoudre le problème de l'encombrement du spectre dans le cadre de la RC. Pour cela, nous avons combiné la théorie des enchères avec les systèmes multi agents. Notre approche a prouvé qu'il est préférable d'utiliser les enchères à Enveloppe Scellée avec programmation dynamique car cette méthode a beaucoup d'avantages par rapport aux autres méthodes.
