Schmidt number criterion via general symmetric informationally complete measurements

The Schmidt number characterizes the quantum entanglement of a bipartite mixed state and plays a significant role in certifying entanglement of quantum states. We derive a Schmidt number criterion based on the trace norm of the correlation matrix obtained from the general symmetric informationally complete measurements. The criterion gives an effective way to quantify the entanglement dimension of a bipartite state with arbitrary local dimensions. We show that this Schmidt number criterion is more effective and superior than other criteria such as fidelity, CCNR (computable cross-norm or realignment), MUB (mutually unbiased bases) and EAM (equiangular measurements) criteria in certifying the Schmidt numbers by detailed examples.

Quantum Information Masking of Hadamard Sets

We study quantum information masking of arbitrary dimensional states. Given a set of fixed reducing pure states, we study the linear combinations of them, such that they all have the same marginal states with the given ones. We define the so called Hadamard set of quantum states whose Gram-Schmidt matrix can be diagonalized by Hadamard unitary matrices. We show that any Hadamard set can be deterministically masked by a unitary operation. We analyze the states which can be masked together with the given Hadamard set using the result about the linear combinations of fixed reducing states. Detailed examples are given to illustrate our results.

Quantum Fisher information-based detection of genuine tripartite entanglement

Genuine multipartite entanglement plays important roles in quantum information processing. The detection of genuine multipartite entanglement has been long time a challenging problem in the theory of quantum entanglement. We propose a criterion for detecting genuine tripartite entanglement of arbitrary dimensional tripartite states based on quantum Fisher information. We show that this criterion is more effective for some states in detecting genuine tripartite entanglement by detailed example.

Time optimal control based on classification of quantum gates

We study the minimum time to implement an arbitrary two-qubit gate in two heteronuclear spins systems. We give a systematic characterization of two-qubit gates based on the invariants of local equivalence. The quantum gates are classified into four classes, and for each class the analytical formula of the minimum time to implement the quantum gates is explicitly presented. For given quantum gates, by calculating the corresponding invariants one easily obtains the classes to which the quantum gates belong. In particular, we analyze the effect of global phases on the minimum time to implement the gate. Our results present complete solutions to the optimal time problem in implementing an arbitrary two-qubit gate in two heteronuclear spins systems. Detailed examples are given to typical two-qubit gates with or without global phases.

A Note on Hierarchy of Quantum Measurement Incompatibilities

The quantum measurement incompatibility is a distinctive feature of quantum mechanics. We investigate the incompatibility of a set of general measurements and classify the incompatibility by the hierarchy of compatibilities of its subsets. By using the approach of adding noises to measurement operators we present a complete classification of the incompatibility of a given measurement assemblage with $n$ members. Detailed examples are given to the incompatibility for unbiased qubit measurements based on semidefinite programm.

Bell Inequalities Classifying Bi-separable Three-qubit States

We present a set of Bell inequalities that gives rise to a finer classification of the entanglement for tripartite systems. These inequalities distinguish three possible bi-separable entanglements for three-qubit states. The three Bell operators we employed constitute an external sphere of the separable cube.

Invariants for a Class of Nongeneric Three-qubit States

We investigate the equivalence of quantum states under local unitary transformations. A complete set of invariants under local unitary transformations is presented for a class of non-generic three-qubit mixed states. It is shown that two such states in this class are locally equivalent if and only if all these invariants have equal values for them.

A Class of Bound Entangled States

We construct a set of PPT (positive partial transpose) states and show that these PPT states are not separable, thus present a class of bound entangled quantum states.

Hermitian Tensor Product Approximation of Complex Matrices and Separability

The approximation of matrices to the sum of tensor products of Hermitian matrices is studied. A minimum decomposition of matrices on tensor space $H_1\otimes H_2$ in terms of the sum of tensor products of Hermitian matrices on $H_1$ and $H_2$ is presented. From this construction the separability of quantum states is discussed.
