Quantum Rainbow Cosmological Model With Perfect Fluid

Isotropic quantum cosmological perfect fluid model is studied in the formalism of Rainbow gravity. It is found that the only surviving matter degree of freedom played the role of cosmic time. With the suitable choice of the Rainbow functions it is possible to find the wave packet naturally from the superposition of the wave functions of the Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger-Wheeler-deWitt equation. The many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics is applied to investigate the behavior of the scale factor and the behavior is found to depend on the operator ordering. It is shown that the model in the Rainbow framework may avoid singularity yielding a bouncing non-singular universe.

f(R) in Holographic and Agegraphic Dark Energy Models and the Generalized Uncertainty Principle

We studied a unified approach with the holographic, new agegraphic and the $f(R)$ dark energy model to construct the form of $f(R)$ which in general responsible for the curvature driven explanation of the very early inflation along with presently observed late time acceleration. We considered the generalized uncertainty principle in our approach which incorporated the corrections in the entropy area relation and thereby modified the energy densities for the cosmological dark energy models considered. We found that holographic and new agegraphic $f(R)$ gravity models can behave like phantom or quintessence models in the spatially flat FRW universe. We also found a distinct term in the form of $f(R)$ which goes as $R^{\frac{3}{2}}$ due to the consideration of the GUP modified energy densities. Although the presence of this term in the action can have its importance in explaining the early inflationary scenario but Capozziello {\it et.al.} recently showed that $f(R) \sim R^{\frac{3}{2}}$ leads to an accelerated expansion, {\it i.e.}, a negative value for the deceleration parameter $q$ which fit well with SNeIa and WMAP data.

Singularity Free Rainbow Universe

Isotropic quantum cosmological perfect fluid model is studied in the formalism of Rainbow gravity. It is found that the only surviving matter degree of freedom played the role of cosmic time. It is possible to find the wave packet naturally with a suitable choice of the Rainbow functions which resulted from the superposition of the wave functions of the Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger-Wheeler-deWitt equation. The many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics is applied to investigate the behavior of the scale factor and the behaviour is found to depend on the operator ordering. It is shown that the model in the Rainbow framework naturally avoids singularity and a bouncing non-singular universe is found.

Do the Modified Uncertainty Principle and Polymer Quantization predict same physics?

In this Letter we study the effects of the Modified Uncertainty Principle as proposed in Ali et al. (2009) [5] in simple quantum mechanical systems and study its thermodynamic properties. We have assumed that the quantum particles follow Maxwell-Boltzmann statistics with no spin. We compare our results with the results found in the GUP and polymer quantum mechanical frameworks. Interestingly we find that the corrected thermodynamic entities are exactly same compared to the polymer results but the length scale considered has a theoretically different origin. Hence we express the need of further study for an investigation whether these two approaches are conceptually connected in the fundamental level.

Perfect Fluid Quantum Anisotropic Universe: Merits and Challenges

The present paper deals with quantization of perfect fluid anisotropic cosmological models. Bianchi type V and IX models are discussed following Schutz's method of expressing fluid velocities in terms of six potentials. The wave functions are found for several examples of equations of state. In one case a complete wave packet could be formed analytically. The initial singularity of a zero proper volume can be avoided in this case, but it is plagued by the usual problem of non-unitarity of anisotropic quantum cosmological models. It is seen that a particular operator ordering alleviates this problem.

Effects of the Modified Uncertainty Principle on the Inflation Parameters

In this Letter we study the effects of the Modified Uncertainty Principle as proposed in [8] on the inflationary dynamics of the early universe in both standard and Randall-Sundrum type II scenarios. We find that the quantum gravitational effect increase the amplitude of density fluctuation, which is oscillatory in nature, with an increase in the tensor-to-scalar ratio.

Dilaton cosmology and the Modified Uncertainty Principle

Very recently Ali et al.(2009) proposed a new generalized uncertainty principle (or GUP) with a linear term in Plank length which is consistent with doubly special relativity and string theory. The classical and quantum effects of this generalized uncertainty principle (term as modified uncertainty principle or MUP) are investigated on the phase space of a dilatonic cosmological model with an exponential dilaton potential in a flat FRW background . Interestingly, as a consequence of MUP, we found that it is possible to get a late time acceleration for this model. For the quantum mechanical description in both commutative and MUP framework, we found the analytical solutions of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation for the early universe and compare our results. We have used an approximation method in the case of MUP.

Black Hole Entropy and the Modified Uncertainty Principle: A heuristic analysis

Recently Ali et.al.(2009) proposed a Generalized Uncertainty Principle (or GUP) with a linear term in momentum (accompanied by Plank length). Inspired by this idea here we calculate the quantum corrected value of a Schwarzschild black hole entropy and a Reissner-Nordstrom black hole with double horizon by utilizing the proposed generalized uncertainty principle. We find that the leading order correction goes with the square root of the horizon area contributing positively. We also find that the prefactor of the logarithmic contribution is negative and the value exactly matches with some earlier existing calculations. With the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole we see that this model independent procedure is not only valid for single horizon spacetime but also valid for spacetimes with inner and outer horizons.

The Generalized Uncertainty Principle and the Friedmann equations

The Generalized Uncertainty Principle (or GUP) affects the dynamics in Plank scale. So the known equations of physics are expected to get modified at that very high energy regime. Very recently authors in (Ali et al. 2009) proposed a new Generalized Uncertainty Principle (or GUP) with a linear term in Plank length. In this article, the proposed GUP is expressed in a more general form and the effect is studied for the modification of the Friedmann equations of the FRW universe. In the midway the known entropy-area relation get some new correction terms, the leading order term being proportional to square root of area.

Quantum Black Hole and the Modified Uncertainty Principle

Recently Ali et al. (2009) proposed a Generalized Uncertainty Principle (or GUP) with a linear term in momentum (accompanied by Plank length). Inspired by this idea we examine the Wheeler-DeWitt equation for a Schwarzschild black hole with a modified Heisenberg algebra which has a linear term in momentum. We found that the leading contribution to mass comes from the square root of the quantum number 'n' which coincides with Bekenstein's proposal. We also found that the mass of the black hole is directly proportional to the quantum number 'n' when quantum gravity effects are taken into consideration via the modified uncertainty relation but it reduces the value of mass for a particular value of the quantum number.

The Perihelion Precession of Mercury and the Generalized Uncertainty Principle

Very recently authors in [1] proposed a new Generalized Uncertainty Principle (or GUP) with a linear term in Plank length. In this Letter the effect of this linear term is studied perturbatively in the context of Keplerian orbits. The angle by which the perihelion of the orbit revolves over a complete orbital cycle is computed. The result is applied in the context of the precession of the perihelion of Mercury. As a consequence we get a lower bound of the new intermediate length scale offered by the GUP which is approximately 40 orders of magnitude below Plank length.

Effects of GUP in Quantum Cosmological Perfect Fluid Models

Very recently authors in [5] proposed a new Generalized Uncertainty Principle (or GUP) with a linear term in Plank length. In this Letter the effect of this GUP is studied in quantum cosmological models with dust and cosmic string as the perfect fluid. For the quantum mechanical description it is possible to find the wave packet which resulted from the superposition of the stationary wave functions of the Wheeler-deWitt equation. However the norm of the wave packets turned out to be time dependent and hence the model became non-unitary. The loss of unitarity is due to the fact that the presence of the linear term in Plank length in the Generalized Uncertainty Principle made the Hamiltonian non-Hermitian.

Quantum Scalar-metric Cosmology with Chaplygin gas

A spatially flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker(FRW) cosmological model with generalized Chaplygin gas is studied in the context of scalar-metric formulation of cosmology. Schutz's mechanism for the perfect fluid is applied with generalized Chaplygin gas and the classical and quantum dynamics for this model is studied. It is found that the only surviving matter degree of freedom played the role of cosmic time. For the quantum mechanical description it is possible to find the wave packet which resulted from the linear superposition of the wave functions of the Schrödinger-Wheeler-DeWitt(SWD) equation, which is a consequence of the above formalism. The wave packets show two distinct dominant peaks and propagate in the direction of increasing scale factor. It may happen that our present universe originated from one of those peaks. The many-world and ontological interpretation of quantum mechanics is applied to investigate about the behaviour of the scale factor and the scalar field(considered for this model). In both the cases the scale factor avoids singularity and a bouncing non-singular universe is found.
