The Vlasov-Poisson system with a perfectly conducting wall: Convex domains

We consider the Vlasov--Poisson system in a $C^3$ convex domain $D$ with a perfectly conducting wall. We introduce the asymptotic domain $D_{\infty}$ for the domain $D$. Then under acceptable assumptions on $D$, we show that for localized initial data, the velocity of particles is asymptotically supported in the (closure of the) asymptotic domain $\overline{D_{\infty}}$ and the solutions exhibit the asymptotics of modified scattering.

Desingularization of small moving corners for the Muskat equation

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of solutions of the Muskat equation with initial interface consisting of multiple corners allowing for linear growth at infinity. Specifically, we prove that if the initial data contains a finite set of small corners then we can find a precise description of the solution showing how these corners desingularize and move at the same time. At the analytical level, we are solving a small data critical problem which requires renormalization. This is accomplished using a nonlinear change of variables which serves as a logarithmic correction and accurately describes the motion of the corners during the evolution.

A paradifferential approach for well-posedness of the Muskat problem

We study the Muskat problem for one fluid or two fluids, with or without viscosity jump, with or without rigid boundaries, and in arbitrary space dimension $d$ of the interface. The Muskat problem is scaling invariant in the Sobolev space $H^{s_c}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ where $s_c=1+\frac{d}{2}$. Employing a paradifferential approach, we prove local well-posedness for large data in any subcritical Sobolev spaces $H^s(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $s>s_c$. Moreover, the rigid boundaries are only required to be Lipschitz and can have arbitrarily large variation. The Rayleigh-Taylor stability condition is assumed for the case of two fluids with viscosity jump but is proved to be automatically satisfied for the case of one fluid. The starting point of this work is a reformulation solely in terms of the Drichlet-Neumann operator. The key elements of proofs are new paralinearization and contraction results for the Drichlet-Neumann operator in rough domains.
