On averages of completely multiplicative functions over co-prime integer pairs

Recently, Donoso, Le, Moreira and Sun studied the asymptotic behavior of the averages of completely multiplicative functions over the Gaussian integers. They derived Wirsing's theorem for Gaussian integers, answered a question of Frantzikinakis and Host for sum of two squares, and obtained a variant of a theorem of Bergelson and Richter on ergodic averages along the number of prime factors of integers. In this paper, we will show the analogue of these results for co-prime integer pairs. Moreover, building on Frantzikinakis and Host's results, we obtain some convergences on the multilinear averages of multiplicative functions over primitive lattice points.

RISE-T2V: Rephrasing and Injecting Semantics with LLM for Expansive Text-to-Video Generation

Most text-to-video(T2V) diffusion models depend on pre-trained text encoders for semantic alignment, yet they often fail to maintain video quality when provided with concise prompts rather than well-designed ones. The primary issue lies in their limited textual semantics understanding. Moreover, these text encoders cannot rephrase prompts online to better align with user intentions, which limits both the scalability and usability of the models, To address these challenges, we introduce RISE-T2V, which uniquely integrates the processes of prompt rephrasing and semantic feature extraction into a single and seamless step instead of two separate steps. RISE-T2V is universal and can be applied to various pre-trained LLMs and video diffusion models(VDMs), significantly enhancing their capabilities for T2V tasks. We propose an innovative module called the Rephrasing Adapter, enabling diffusion models to utilize text hidden states during the next token prediction of the LLM as a condition for video generation. By employing a Rephrasing Adapter, the video generation model can implicitly rephrase basic prompts into more comprehensive representations that better match the user's intent. Furthermore, we leverage the powerful capabilities of LLMs to enable video generation models to accomplish a broader range of T2V tasks. Extensive experiments demonstrate that RISE-T2V is a versatile framework applicable to different video diffusion model architectures, significantly enhancing the ability of T2V models to generate high-quality videos that align with user intent. VC4VG: Optimizing Video Captions for Text-to-Video Generation

Recent advances in text-to-video (T2V) generation highlight the critical role of high-quality video-text pairs in training models capable of producing coherent and instruction-aligned videos. However, strategies for optimizing video captions specifically for T2V training remain underexplored. In this paper, we introduce VC4VG (Video Captioning for Video Generation), a comprehensive caption optimization framework tailored to the needs of T2V models. We begin by analyzing caption content from a T2V perspective, decomposing the essential elements required for video reconstruction into multiple dimensions, and proposing a principled caption design methodology. To support evaluation, we construct VC4VG-Bench, a new benchmark featuring fine-grained, multi-dimensional, and necessity-graded metrics aligned with T2V-specific requirements. Extensive T2V fine-tuning experiments demonstrate a strong correlation between improved caption quality and video generation performance, validating the effectiveness of our approach. We release all benchmark tools and code at https://github.com/alimama-creative/VC4VG to support further research.

Some ergodic theorems over $k$-full numbers

In 2022, Bergelson and Richter established a new dynamical generalization of the prime number theorem. Later, Loyd showed a disjoint form with the Erdős-Kac theorem. Recently, the author and his coauthors proved some ergodic theorems over squarefree numbers related to these results. In this paper, building on the previous work, we will derive the analogues of Bergelson-Richter's theorem, Erdős-Kac theorem and Loyd's theorem over $k$-full numbers for any integer $k\geq2$.

Some ergodic theorems over squarefree numbers and squarefull numbers

In 2022, Bergelson and Richter gave a new dynamical generalization of the prime number theorem by establishing an ergodic theorem along the number of prime factors of integers. They also showed that this generalization holds as well if the integers are restricted to be squarefree. In this paper, we present the concept of invariant averages under multiplications for arithmetic functions. Utilizing the properties of these invariant averages, we derive several ergodic theorems over squarefree numbers and squarefull numbers. These theorems have significant connections to the Erdős-Kac Theorem, the Bergelson-Richter Theorem, and the Loyd Theorem.

Injection and Imaging of Achiral Microswimmers in Zebrafish

Achieving stable in vivo locomotion is essential for using magnetically actuated microswimmers for biomedical applications; however, while existing microswimmers have excellent motion control in vitro, their motion is greatly hindered inside living organisms. Moreover, previous work had only visually demonstrated in vivo motion through gradient pulling or rolling, but not swimming. This study investigated the injection and imaging of the achiral planar microswimmers (APMs) inside a live zebrafish embryo. The APMs can be actuated under a rotating magnetic field to generate a forward thrust at low Reynolds number environment. Combined with a safe injection technique and clear in vivo imaging at high resolution, it would be possible to control the swimming motion of APMs inside the zebrafish embryo. This work shows the safe injection and the clear imaging of an APM in a transparent zebrafish model, demonstrating the possibility for follow-up in-depth studies of the swimming motion of microswimmers in vivo.

A logarithmic analogue of Alladi's formula

Let $μ(n)$ be the Möbius function. Let $P^-(n)$ denote the smallest prime factor of an integer $n$. In 1977, Alladi established the following formula related to the prime number theorem for arithmetic progressions \[ -\sum_{\substack{n\geq 2\\ P^-(n)\equiv \ell ({\rm mod}k)}}\frac{μ(n)}{n}=\frac1{φ(k)} \] for positive integers $\ell, k\ge$ with $(\ell,k)=1$, where $φ$ is Euler's totient function. In this note, we will show a logarithmic analogue of Alladi's formula in an elementary proof.

Lattice distortions and non-sluggish diffusion in BCC refractory high entropy alloys

Refractory high-entropy alloys (RHEAs) have emerged as promising candidates for extreme high-temperature applications, for example, in next-generation turbines and nuclear reactors. In such applications, atomic diffusion critically governs essential properties including creep resistance and microstructural stability. The present study systematically investigates impurity diffusion of Co, Mn, and Zn in single phase (BCC solid solution) HfTiZrNbTa and HfTiZrNbV RHEAs applying the radiotracer technique. A neutron total scattering technique is used to evaluate the pair distribution functions and element-specific lattice distortions in these alloys. \textit{Ab initio}-based calculations give access to lattice distortions and solubilities of the impurities under investigation, including the impact of short-range order. The diffusion results are discussed in relation to calculated substitutional and interstitial solution energies, local lattice distortions, and short-range order effects. Co diffusion is found to be dominated by the interstitial mechanism, exhibiting fast diffusion. These findings reveal important structure-property relationships between local atomic environments and diffusion kinetics in BCC RHEAs, providing critical insights for designing alloys with enhanced high-temperature performance through targeted control of impurity diffusion processes.

CoSight: Exploring Viewer Contributions to Online Video Accessibility Through Descriptive Commenting

The rapid growth of online video content has outpaced efforts to make visual information accessible to blind and low vision (BLV) audiences. While professional Audio Description (AD) remains the gold standard, it is costly and difficult to scale across the vast volume of online media. In this work, we explore a complementary approach to broaden participation in video accessibility: engaging everyday video viewers at their watching and commenting time. We introduce CoSight, a Chrome extension that augments YouTube with lightweight, in-situ nudges to support descriptive commenting. Drawing from Fogg's Behavior Model, CoSight provides visual indicators of accessibility gaps, pop-up hints for what to describe, reminders to clarify vague comments, and related captions and comments as references. In an exploratory study with 48 sighted users, CoSight helped integrate accessibility contribution into natural viewing and commenting practices, resulting in 89% of comments including grounded visual descriptions. Follow-up interviews with four BLV viewers and four professional AD writers suggest that while such comments do not match the rigor of professional AD, they can offer complementary value by conveying visual context and emotional nuance for understanding the videos.

R1-Track: Direct Application of MLLMs to Visual Object Tracking via Reinforcement Learning

Visual single object tracking aims to continuously localize and estimate the scale of a target in subsequent video frames, given only its initial state in the first frame. This task has traditionally been framed as a template matching problem, evolving through major phases including correlation filters, two-stream networks, and one-stream networks with significant progress achieved. However, these methods typically require explicit classification and regression modeling, depend on supervised training with large-scale datasets, and are limited to the single task of tracking, lacking flexibility. In recent years, multi-modal large language models (MLLMs) have advanced rapidly. Open-source models like Qwen2.5-VL, a flagship MLLMs with strong foundational capabilities, demonstrate excellent performance in grounding tasks. This has spurred interest in applying such models directly to visual tracking. However, experiments reveal that Qwen2.5-VL struggles with template matching between image pairs (i.e., tracking tasks). Inspired by deepseek-R1, we fine-tuned Qwen2.5-VL using the group relative policy optimization (GRPO) reinforcement learning method on a small-scale dataset with a rule-based reward function. The resulting model, R1-Track, achieved notable performance on the GOT-10k benchmark. R1-Track supports flexible initialization via bounding boxes or text descriptions while retaining most of the original model's general capabilities. And we further discuss potential improvements for R1-Track. This rough technical report summarizes our findings as of May 2025.

Neutrino Theory in the Precision Era

This document summarises discussions on future directions in theoretical neutrino physics, which are the outcome of a neutrino theory workshop held at CERN in February 2025. The starting point is the realisation that neutrino physics offers unique opportunities to address some of the most fundamental questions in physics. This motivates a vigorous experimental programme which the theory community fully supports. \textbf{A strong effort in theoretical neutrino physics is paramount to optimally take advantage of upcoming neutrino experiments and to explore the synergies with other areas of particle, astroparticle, and nuclear physics, as well as cosmology.} Progress on the theory side has the potential to significantly boost the physics reach of experiments, as well as go well beyond their original scope. Strong collaboration between theory and experiment is essential in the precision era. To foster such collaboration, \textbf{we propose to establish a CERN Neutrino Physics Centre.} Taking inspiration from the highly successful LHC Physics Center at Fermilab, the CERN Neutrino Physics Centre would be the European hub of the neutrino community, covering experimental and theoretical activities.

Synchronized Video Storytelling: Generating Video Narrations with Structured Storyline

Video storytelling is engaging multimedia content that utilizes video and its accompanying narration to attract the audience, where a key challenge is creating narrations for recorded visual scenes. Previous studies on dense video captioning and video story generation have made some progress. However, in practical applications, we typically require synchronized narrations for ongoing visual scenes. In this work, we introduce a new task of Synchronized Video Storytelling, which aims to generate synchronous and informative narrations for videos. These narrations, associated with each video clip, should relate to the visual content, integrate relevant knowledge, and have an appropriate word count corresponding to the clip's duration. Specifically, a structured storyline is beneficial to guide the generation process, ensuring coherence and integrity. To support the exploration of this task, we introduce a new benchmark dataset E-SyncVidStory with rich annotations. Since existing Multimodal LLMs are not effective in addressing this task in one-shot or few-shot settings, we propose a framework named VideoNarrator that can generate a storyline for input videos and simultaneously generate narrations with the guidance of the generated or predefined storyline. We further introduce a set of evaluation metrics to thoroughly assess the generation. Both automatic and human evaluations validate the effectiveness of our approach. Our dataset, codes, and evaluations will be released.

Set stabilization of Boolean control networks based on bisimulations: A dimensionality reduction approach

This paper exploits bisimulation relations, generated by extracting the concept of morphisms between algebraic structures, to analyze set stabilization of Boolean control networks with lower complexity. First, for two kinds of bisimulation relations, called as weak bisimulation and strong bisimulation relations, a novel verification method is provided by constructing the bisimulation matrices. Then the comparison for set stabilization of BCNs via two kinds of bisimulation methods is presented, which involves the dimensionality of quotient systems and dependency of the control laws on the original system. Moreover, the proposed method is also applied to the analysis of probabilistic Boolean control networks to establish the unified analysis framework of bisimulations. Finally, the validity of the obtained results is verified by the practical example.

Establishing a New Benchmark in Quantum Computational Advantage with 105-qubit Zuchongzhi 3.0 Processor

In the relentless pursuit of quantum computational advantage, we present a significant advancement with the development of Zuchongzhi 3.0. This superconducting quantum computer prototype, comprising 105 qubits, achieves high operational fidelities, with single-qubit gates, two-qubit gates, and readout fidelity at 99.90%, 99.62% and 99.18%, respectively. Our experiments with an 83-qubit, 32-cycle random circuit sampling on Zuchongzhi 3.0 highlight its superior performance, achieving one million samples in just a few hundred seconds. This task is estimated to be infeasible on the most powerful classical supercomputers, Frontier, which would require approximately $6.4\times 10^9$ years to replicate the task. This leap in processing power places the classical simulation cost six orders of magnitude beyond Google's SYC-67 and SYC-70 experiments [Nature 634, 328(2024)], firmly establishing a new benchmark in quantum computational advantage. Our work not only advances the frontiers of quantum computing but also lays the groundwork for a new era where quantum processors play an essential role in tackling sophisticated real-world challenges.

Atomistic catalyst polarization stemming hydrogen generation from CH4

As the extremely-sized nanocrystals and nanopores, an adatom M and atomic vacancy V exhibit extraordinary capability of catalysis with however little knowledge about the catalyst-reactant interfacial bonding dynamics. With the aid of DFT calculations, we examined the dehydrogenization of a single CH4 molecule catalyzed using the Rh(111,100), W(110), Ru(0001) surfaces, and monolayer graphene, with and without M or V. It is uncovered in the following three components: (i) catalyst polarization due to atomic under- or hetero-coordination raises the valence band of the catalyst by bond contraction and atomistic dipolar MP and vacancy dipolar V formation; (ii) reactant bond elongation by the interplay of the MP-V = H attraction and MP-V = C repulsion with the = denoting the negative pole of the MP-V; and (iii) reactant conversion, i.e., the scale of H-C elongation, the catalyst valence-band shift, the adsorption energy, and the catalytic activity are proportional to the charge quantity of the MP-V whose local electric field matters.

High-order Discontinuous Galerkin solver based on Jacobi polynomial expansion for compressible flows on unstructured meshes

Based on the Jacobi polynomial expansion, an arbitrary high-order Discontinuous Galerkin solver for compressible flows on unstructured meshes is proposed in the present work. First, we construct orthogonal polynomials for 2D and 3D isoparametric elements using the 1D Jacobi polynomials. We perform modal expansions of the state variables using the orthogonal polynomials, enabling arbitrary high-order spatial discretization of these variables. Subsequently, the discrete governing equations are derived by considering the orthogonality of the Euler equations' residuals and the test functions. On this basis, we develop a high-order Discontinuous Galerkin solver that supports various element types, including triangles, quadrilaterals, tetrahedra, hexahedra, etc. An improved shock-capturing scheme has been adopted to capture shock discontinuities within the flow field. The variable's gradients at the discontinuous elements are reconstructed by its adjacent elements, and the slope limiter is applied to modify the state variables, smoothing the state variables and enhancing the robustness of the solver. The convergence rates of solvers of different orders have been verified by a benchmark case, and the CPU costs are given to prove that high-precision algorithms have higher computational efficiency under the same error level. Finally, several two- and three-dimensional compressible fluid dynamics problems are studied, compared with literature and experimental results, the effectiveness and accuracy of the solver were verified.

Developing Path Planning with Behavioral Cloning and Proximal Policy Optimization for Path-Tracking and Static Obstacle Nudging

In autonomous driving, end-to-end methods utilizing Imitation Learning (IL) and Reinforcement Learning (RL) are becoming more and more common. However, they do not involve explicit reasoning like classic robotics workflow and planning with horizons, resulting in strategies implicit and myopic. In this paper, we introduce a path planning method that uses Behavioral Cloning (BC) for path-tracking and Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) for static obstacle nudging. It outputs lateral offset values to adjust the given reference waypoints and performs modified path for different controllers. Experimental results show that the algorithm can do path following that mimics the expert performance of path-tracking controllers, and avoid collision to fixed obstacles. The method makes a good attempt at planning with learning-based methods in path planning problems of autonomous driving.

On Erdős covering systems in global function fields

A covering system of the integers is a finite collection of arithmetic progressions whose union is the set of integers. A well-known problem on covering systems is the minimum modulus problem posed by Erdős in 1950, who asked whether the minimum modulus in such systems with distinct moduli can be arbitrarily large. This problem was resolved by Hough in 2015, who showed that the minimum modulus is at most $10^{16}$. In 2022, Balister, Bollobás, Morris, Sahasrabudhe and Tiba reduced Hough's bound to $616,000$ by developing Hough's method. They call it the distortion method. In this paper, by applying this method, we mainly prove that there does not exist any covering system of multiplicity $s$ in any global function field of genus $g$ over $\mathbb{F}_q$ for $q\geq (1.14+0.16g)e^{6.5+0.97g}s^2$. In particular, there is no covering system of $\mathbb{F}_q[x]$ with distinct moduli for $q\geq 759$.
