Testing an anisotropic spinor field--based Modified Chaplygin Gas model in Kantowski--Sachs spacetime with observational constraints

We investigate a cosmological model based on a massless nonlinear spinor field coupled to a Modified Chaplygin Gas (MCG) in the Kantowski--Sachs spacetime, aiming to probe anisotropies and unified dark sector dynamics. The model parameters are constrained using recent observational data, including Pantheon+, cosmic chronometers, DESI DR2, and CMB distance priors, via a Markov Chain Monte Carlo analysis. We find $H_0 \sim 67$--$68~\mathrm{km\,s^{-1}\,Mpc^{-1}}$, while the shear parameter is consistent with zero, indicating an effectively isotropic Universe at late times. The model reproduces late-time cosmic acceleration with a present-day deceleration parameter $q_0 \sim -0.49$, and provides a good fit to the data, yielding a lower minimum $\chi^2$ than $\Lambda$CDM, and is favored by the Akaike Information Criterion. Overall, the spinor field MCG model in Kantowski--Sachs spacetime offers a viable framework that naturally incorporates anisotropy and a unified description of dark matter and dark energy, consistent with current observations.

Nonlinear spinor field with Lyras geometry: Bianchi type-VI space-time

In the context of a Bianchi type-VI space-time characterized by Lyras geometry, we investigate the influence of a nonlinear spinor field on the evolution of the Universe. Our previous research has examined the nonlinear spinor field within Bianchi diagonal models, revealing that the spinor field exhibits non-trivial non-diagonal components of the energy-momentum tensor. These components impose various constraints on both the space-time geometry and the spinor field itself. The incorporation of Lyras geometry into the framework does not alleviate these constraints; however, it alters the preservation of the energy-momentum tensor. Furthermore, this integration complicates the relationship between the invariants of the spinor field and the space-time, ultimately affecting the outcomes of our analysis. Moreover, in this case energy-momentum tensor does not preserve.

Scalar field in Bianchi type-I cosmology with Lyra's geometry

In this study, we examine the role of a scalar field in the evolution of the Universe within the framework of a Bianchi type-I cosmological model with Lyra's geometry. Previous research has explored the nonlinear spinor field in various anisotropic and isotropic cosmological models. In our current study, we and dynamical restrictions for Lyra parameters and violation of stress-energy tensor conservation within Lyra geometry. We shown that in considering cases behavior of Lyra's parameter corresponds to relative influence in early universe and absence of Lyra geometry in present universe.

Observational Constraints on a Spinor Field Generalized Chaplygin Gas Model in a Spherically Symmetric FLRW Spacetime

Despite the remarkable success of the standard LambdaCDM model in describing the evolution of the universe, several unresolved issues remain, such as the true nature of dark energy, fine-tuning problems, and the persistent Hubble tension. Motivated by these shortcomings, we construct a spinor field-based Generalized Chaplygin Gas (GCG) model that unifies dark matter and dark energy within a spherically symmetric Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetime. This framework incorporates a nonlinear spinor field and considers an open universe geometry. We constrain the model parameters using the latest observational datasets, including Type Ia supernovae from the binned Pantheon compilation, Hubble parameter measurements from cosmic chronometers (CC) and SDSS, including baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) data. Employing Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) sampling techniques, we obtain best-fit values that indicate the spinor GCG model provides a competitive and viable alternative to the LambdaCDM, particularly in the late-time universe. Furthermore, the model predicts a lower present-day Hubble constant, offering a potential resolution to the Hubble tension. The results highlight the rich phenomenology of spinor fields and their possible role in the dynamics of dark energy through spacetime interaction.

Constraining parameters of spinor field dark energy: An alternative to $\Lambda$CDM model under the spherically symmetric FLRW space-time

This study constrains the cosmological parameters within the scope of a spherically symmetric FLRW cosmological model, the role of a nonlinear spinor field in the universe's evolution. To test this approach, we incorporate the recent Cosmic chronometers, Supernova, and Sloan Digital Sky Survey data. It is found that if spherical coordinates give the FLRW model, the energy-momentum tensor (EMT) of the spinor field possesses nontrivial non-diagonal components. These non-diagonal components of EMT neither depend on the spinor field nonlinearity nor the value of the parameter $k$ defining the type of curvature of the FLRW model. In this context, we construct a dark energy model and perform an MCMC simulation to obtain the best-fit values of the parameters. The results are well comparable to the present Hubble parameter and deceleration parameter, indicating the accelerated expansion of the universe.

Spinor field in Bianchi type-I cosmology with Lyras geometry

In this study, we examine the role of a nonlinear spinor field in the evolution of the Universe within the framework of a Bianchi type-I cosmological model with Lyras geometry. Previous research has explored the nonlinear spinor field in various anisotropic and isotropic cosmological models, revealing that the presence of nontrivial, non-diagonal components of the spinor field's energy-momentum tensor imposes severe restrictions on both the space-time geometry and the spinor field itself. In our current study, we find that while these restrictions still apply, the introduction of Lyras geometry significantly influences the evolution of the Universe. This influence arises from the fact that the invariants of the spinor field are dependent on the Lyra geometry parameter.

Maxwell-Dirac system in cosmology

Within the scope of a Bianchi type-I (BI) cosmological model we study the interacting system of spinor and electromagnetic fields and its role in the evolution of the Universe. In some earlier studies it was found that in case of a pure spinor field the presence of nontrivial non-diagonal components of EMT leads to some severe restrictions both on the spacetime geometry and/or spinor field itself, whereas in case of electromagnetic field with induced nonlinearity such components impose severe restrictions on metric functions and the components of the vector potential. It is shown that in case of interacting spinor and electromagnetic fields restrictions are not as severe as in other cases and in this case a nonlinear and massive spinor field with different components of vector potential can survive in a general Bianchi type-I spacetime.

Time-dependent Spinor field in a static cylindrically-symmetric space-time

Within the scope of a static cylindrically symmetric space-time we study the behavior of a nonlinear spinor field that depends on time and radial coordinates. It is found that the presence of nontrivial non-diagonal components of the energy-momentum tensor (EMT) imposes some restriction on both the metric functions and the spinor field. While for the time independent spinor field there occur three way restrictions resembling the Bianchi type-I Universe, in this case things become more complicated.

Spinors in cylindrically symmetric space-time

We studied the behavior of nonlinear spinor field within the scope of a static cylindrically symmetric space-time. It is found that the energy-momentum tensor (EMT) of the spinor field in this case possesses nontrivial non-diagonal components. The presence of non-diagonal components of the EMT imposes three-way restrictions wither on the space-time geometry or on the components of the spinor field or on both. It should be noted that analogical situation occurs in cosmology when nonlinear spinor field is exploited as a source of gravitational field given by Bianchi type-I cosmological model.

Static spherically symmetric space-time: some remarks

Within the scope of a spherically symmetric space-time we study the role of different types of matter in the formation of different configurations with spherical symmetries. Here we have considered matter with barotropic equation of state, scalar field, electromagnetic field and an interacting system of scalar and electromagnetic field as the source. Corresponding field equations are solved exploiting harmonic coordinates. An easy to handle method is proposed which allows one to have an idea about the possible behavior of the metric functions once the components of the EMT of the source field is known.

Spinor fields in spherical symmetry. Einstein-Dirac and other space-times

We discuss the static spherically symmetric Einstein-spinor field system in the possible presence of various spinor field nonlinearities. We take into account that the spinor field energy-momentum tensor (EMT) has in general some off-diagonal components, whose vanishing due to the Einstein equations substantially affects the form of the spinor field itself and the space-time geometry. In particular, the EMT structure with any spinor field nonlinearities turns out to be the same as that of the EMT of a minimally coupled scalar field with a self-interaction potential. Therefore many results previously obtained for systems with such scalar fields are directly extended to the Einstein-spinor field system. Some special solutions are obtained and discussed, in particular, a solution for the Einstein-Dirac system (which lack asymptotic flatness) and some examples with spinor field nonlinearities.

Non-minimally coupled nonlinear spinor field in FRW cosmology

Within the scope of a FRW cosmological model we have studied the role of spinor field in the evolution of the Universe when it is non-minimally coupled to the gravitational one. We have considered a few types of nonlinearity. It was found that if the spinor field nonlinearity describes an ordinary matter such as radiation, the presence of non-minimality becomes essential and leads to the rapid expansion of the Universe, whereas if the spinor field nonlinearity describes a dark energy, the evolution of the Universe is dominated by it and the difference between the minimal and non-minimally coupled cases become almost indistinguishable.

Non-minimally coupled nonlinear spinor field in Bianchi type-I cosmology

Within the scope of Bianchi type-$I$ cosmological model we have studied the role of spinor field in the evolution of the Universe. In doing so we have considered the case with non-minimal coupling. It was found that the non-diagonal components of the energy-momentum tensor of the spinor field, hence the restrictions on the space-time geometry remain the same as in case of minimal coupling. Since in this case the diagonal components of the energy-momentum tensor differ, the evolution of the corresponding universe also differs. For example, while a linear spinor field with non-minimal coupling or nonlinear spinor field with minimal coupling give rise to open universe, a nonlinear spinor field with non-minimal coupling with the same parameters can generate close universe that at the beginning expands, and after attaining some maximum value begin to contract and finally ends in a Big Crunch.

Spinor fields in spherically symmetric space-time

Within the scope of a spherically symmetric space-time we study the role of a nonlinear spinor field in the formation of different configurations with spherical symmetries. The presence of the non-diagonal components of energy-momentum tensor of the spinor field leads to some severe restrictions on the spinor field itself. Since spinor field is the source of the gravitational one, the metric functions also changes in accordance with it. The system as a whole possesses solutions only in case of some additional conditions on metric functions.

Spinor field in Bianchi type-$II$ Universe

Within the scope of Bianchi type-$II$ cosmological model we have studied the role of spinor field in the evolution of the Universe. It is found that in this case the components of energy-momentum tensor of spinor field along the principal axis are different, i.e. $T_1^1 \ne T_2^2 \ne T_3^3$, even in absence of spinor field nonlinearity. The presence of nontrivial non-diagonal components of energy-momentum tensor of the spinor field imposes severe restrictions both on geometry of space-time and on the spinor field itself. Depending on the choice of $f(x_3)$ the space-time might be either locally rotationally symmetric or isotropic. In this paper we considered the Bianchi type-$II$ space-time both for a trivial and nontrivial $b$. It was found that while a positive $λ_1$ in case of $f^\prime \ne 0$ gives rise to oscillatory mode of evolution, in case of $f^\prime = 0$ it leads to accelerated mode of expansion.

Spinor field in Bianchi type-$IX$ space-time

Within the scope of Bianchi type-$IX$ we have studied the role of spinor field in the evolution of the Universe. It is found that unlike the diagonal Bianchi models in this case the components of energy-momentum tensor of spinor field along the principal axis are not the same, i.e. As a result the space-time turns out to be either locally rotationally symmetric or isotropic. In this paper we considered the Bianchi type-$IX$ space-time both for a trivial $b$, that corresponds to standard $BIX$ and the one with a non-trivial $b$. It was found that a positive $λ_1$ gives rise to an oscillatory mode of expansion, while a trivial $λ_1$ leads to rapid expansion at the early stage of evolution.

Nonlinear Spinor field in isotropic space-time and dark energy models

Within the scope of isotropic FRW cosmological model the role of nonlinear spinor field in the evolution of the Universe is studied. It is found that unlike in anisotropic cosmological models in the present case the spinor field does not possess nontrivial non-diagonal components of energy-momentum tensor, consequently does not impose any additional restrictions on the components of the spinor field or metric function. The spinor description of different matter was given and evolution of the Universe corresponding to these sources is illustrated. In the framework of a three fluid system the utility of spinor description of matter is established.

Nonlinear Spinor Fields in Bianchi type-VI spacetime

Within the scope of Bianchi type-VI cosmological model we study the role of spinor field in the evolution of the Universe. It is found that due to the spinor affine connections the energy-momentum tensor of the spinor field possesses non-diagonal components. The non-triviality of non-diagonal components of the energy-momentum tensor imposes some severe restrictions either on the spinor field or on the metric functions or on both of them. But unlike in cases of Bianchi type-I or $VI_0$, in case of Bianchi type-VI model it does not lead to the elimination of spinor field nonlinearity or mass term in the spinor field Lagrangian. It is also found that depending on the sign of self-coupling constant the model can give rise to late time acceleration or generate oscillatory mode of evolution.
