In this article, we derive a mathematical transformation which corrects Delta-v measurements from event data recorders at arbitrary positions in a vehicle to the equivalent values at the center-of-gravity. The method is illustrated using staged collision data. We also demonstrate the method's consistency with simulation.
In this article, we present results from a series of Virtual CRASH-based pedestrian impact simulations. We compare the results of these Virtual CRASH pedestrian impact simulations to data from pedestrian impact collisions staged at the Institute of Police Technology and Management.
The purpose of this article is to introduce the reader to the ROOT data analysis software package, and demonstrate how it may be used to complement one's accident reconstruction analyses.
