OmniOCR: Generalist OCR for Ethnic Minority Languages

Optical character recognition (OCR) has advanced rapidly with deep learning and multimodal models, yet most methods focus on well-resourced scripts such as Latin and Chinese. Ethnic minority languages remain underexplored due to complex writing systems, scarce annotations, and diverse historical and modern forms, making generalization in low-resource or zero-shot settings challenging. To address these challenges, we present OmniOCR, a universal framework for ethnic minority scripts. OmniOCR introduces Dynamic Low-Rank Adaptation (Dynamic LoRA) to allocate model capacity across layers and scripts, enabling effective adaptation while preserving knowledge.A sparsity regularization prunes redundant updates, ensuring compact and efficient adaptation without extra inference cost. Evaluations on TibetanMNIST, Shui, ancient Yi, and Dongba show that OmniOCR outperforms zero-shot foundation models and standard post training, achieving state-of-the-art accuracy with superior parameter efficiency, and compared with the state-of-the-art baseline models, it improves accuracy by 39%-66% on these four datasets. Decision-Driven Semantic Object Exploration for Legged Robots via Confidence-Calibrated Perception and Topological Subgoal Selection

Conventional navigation pipelines for legged robots remain largely geometry-centric, relying on dense SLAM representations that are fragile under rapid motion and offer limited support for semantic decision making in open-world exploration. In this work, we focus on decision-driven semantic object exploration, where the primary challenge is not map consistency but how noisy and heterogeneous semantic observations can be transformed into stable and executable exploration decisions. We propose a vision-based approach that explicitly addresses this problem through confidence-calibrated semantic evidence arbitration, a controlled-growth semantic topological memory, and a semantic utility-driven subgoal selection mechanism. These components enable the robot to accumulate task-relevant semantic knowledge over time and select exploration targets that balance semantic relevance, reliability, and reachability, without requiring dense geometric reconstruction. Extensive experiments in both simulation and real-world environments demonstrate that the proposed mechanisms consistently improve the quality of semantic decision inputs, subgoal selection accuracy, and overall exploration performance on legged robots.

MonoGlass3D: Monocular 3D Glass Detection with Plane Regression and Adaptive Feature Fusion

Detecting and localizing glass in 3D environments poses significant challenges for visual perception systems, as the optical properties of glass often hinder conventional sensors from accurately distinguishing glass surfaces. The lack of real-world datasets focused on glass objects further impedes progress in this field. To address this issue, we introduce a new dataset featuring a wide range of glass configurations with precise 3D annotations, collected from distinct real-world scenarios. On the basis of this dataset, we propose MonoGlass3D, a novel approach tailored for monocular 3D glass detection across diverse environments. To overcome the challenges posed by the ambiguous appearance and context diversity of glass, we propose an adaptive feature fusion module that empowers the network to effectively capture contextual information in varying conditions. Additionally, to exploit the distinct planar geometry of glass surfaces, we present a plane regression pipeline, which enables seamless integration of geometric properties within our framework. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in both glass segmentation and monocular glass depth estimation. Our results highlight the advantages of combining geometric and contextual cues for transparent surface understanding.

EgoHDM: An Online Egocentric-Inertial Human Motion Capture, Localization, and Dense Mapping System

We present EgoHDM, an online egocentric-inertial human motion capture (mocap), localization, and dense mapping system. Our system uses 6 inertial measurement units (IMUs) and a commodity head-mounted RGB camera. EgoHDM is the first human mocap system that offers dense scene mapping in near real-time. Further, it is fast and robust to initialize and fully closes the loop between physically plausible map-aware global human motion estimation and mocap-aware 3D scene reconstruction. Our key idea is integrating camera localization and mapping information with inertial human motion capture bidirectionally in our system. To achieve this, we design a tightly coupled mocap-aware dense bundle adjustment and physics-based body pose correction module leveraging a local body-centric elevation map. The latter introduces a novel terrain-aware contact PD controller, which enables characters to physically contact the given local elevation map thereby reducing human floating or penetration. We demonstrate the performance of our system on established synthetic and real-world benchmarks. The results show that our method reduces human localization, camera pose, and mapping accuracy error by 41%, 71%, 46%, respectively, compared to the state of the art. Our qualitative evaluations on newly captured data further demonstrate that EgoHDM can cover challenging scenarios in non-flat terrain including stepping over stairs and outdoor scenes in the wild.

OmniColor: A Global Camera Pose Optimization Approach of LiDAR-360Camera Fusion for Colorizing Point Clouds

A Colored point cloud, as a simple and efficient 3D representation, has many advantages in various fields, including robotic navigation and scene reconstruction. This representation is now commonly used in 3D reconstruction tasks relying on cameras and LiDARs. However, fusing data from these two types of sensors is poorly performed in many existing frameworks, leading to unsatisfactory mapping results, mainly due to inaccurate camera poses. This paper presents OmniColor, a novel and efficient algorithm to colorize point clouds using an independent 360-degree camera. Given a LiDAR-based point cloud and a sequence of panorama images with initial coarse camera poses, our objective is to jointly optimize the poses of all frames for mapping images onto geometric reconstructions. Our pipeline works in an off-the-shelf manner that does not require any feature extraction or matching process. Instead, we find optimal poses by directly maximizing the photometric consistency of LiDAR maps. In experiments, we show that our method can overcome the severe visual distortion of omnidirectional images and greatly benefit from the wide field of view (FOV) of 360-degree cameras to reconstruct various scenarios with accuracy and stability.
