GeoFlip: Benchmarking Geometry-Sensitive Physics in Video Generation

Video generation models synthesize realistic motion, but can they respond correctly to changes in initial geometry? We introduce GeoFlip, a video generation benchmark centered on physical outcome flips induced by geometry. With shared physical settings and textual prompts held fixed, GeoFlip applies controlled interventions to support extent, object placement, and mechanism configuration, constructing paired scenes with contrasting reference events, such as remaining stable versus falling or tipping. These pairs test whether models translate geometric differences in the first frame into correct physical evolution. The benchmark comprises 482 scene pairs and 964 reference videos across six physical categories, with reference outcomes established through procedural scene construction, physics simulation, and numerical validation and verification of physical events. We evaluate 16 models for image to video generation along three dimensions: event correctness, structural integrity, and similarity to reference videos. We examine evaluation consistency with independent vision language judges. On the 442 conditions shared by all models, the highest event correctness averaged across tasks is 27.98%, revealing substantial limitations in physical generation conditioned on geometry. Model strengths vary across physical mechanisms, and the three evaluation dimensions capture distinct capabilities. Typical failures include ignoring geometric changes, generating incorrect object motion, bending rigid objects, and introducing additional components. Rank correlations between judges reach 0.906 for event correctness and 0.929 for structural integrity. By combining controlled geometric interventions, verifiable physical references, and multidimensional evaluation, GeoFlip assesses progress from visual realism toward physical consistency conditioned on geometry.

PrismWAM: Decoupling State Representations in World Action Models

World Action Models (WAMs) typically represent the world through latent embeddings from pretrained video models, which entangle heterogeneous aspects of the world, from how it looks (e.g., texture and color) to how it is physically configured (e.g., occupancy and pose). This raises an underexplored question: $\textbf{what should constitute the state of a WAM?}$ We argue that the world state should separate how the world appears from how the world evolves under action: the former captures semantic context, while the latter is governed by physical state. To this end, we propose $\textbf{PrismWAM}$, which decouples physics from semantics while jointly modeling state and action. PrismWAM factorizes an embodied task into a $\mathrm{Semantic\ Planning}\rightarrow\mathrm{Physical\ Rollout}\rightarrow\mathrm{Executable\ Action}$ pipeline: given only the initial RGB observation, semantic planning learns to predict the final goal image, while physical rollout predicts the fine-grained evolution toward this goal in depth space; executable actions are then generated from the depth rollout. Without any embodied action pretraining or additional data augmentation, PrismWAM achieves strong manipulation performance in both simulation and the real world. Notably, PrismWAM even surpasses a broad range of models with large-scale embodied action pretraining (e.g., OpenWAM-$α$). More broadly, we reframe World Action Models from modeling how the world looks to how it responds to action, paving the way for action-centric world models grounded in occupancy, flow, tactile sensing, proprioception, and beyond.

Acting in Meters: Learning Metric Interactions for Precise Robotic Manipulation

Vision-Language-Action models and World-Action Models have advanced language-conditioned robotic manipulation, yet often leave metric relations among actions, objects, and scene geometry implicit. Human manipulation combines semantic understanding of task-relevant objects with spatial feedback that guides hand motion relative to objects and their surroundings. Inspired by this, we introduce a metric interaction framework that models object-level and scene-level interactions in physical Cartesian space at a shared metric scale. At the object level, Interaction-Centric Tokens (ICTs) explicitly represent end-effector pose trajectories relative to manipulated objects and are jointly denoised with actions, providing physically grounded interaction supervision. At the scene level, the Metric Action Interaction Field (MAIF) uses action and ICT queries to attend to metric scene point-cloud features and learns geometry-conditioned action corrections. Through two-stage adaptation, our framework improves diverse VLA and WAM baselines with a small number of additional parameters and training steps. Experiments demonstrate average success-rate gains of 0.80 and 3.59 percentage points on LIBERO and RoboTwin 2.0, respectively, alongside gains of 6.80 percentage points on real-world tasks and 7.45 percentage points on their out-of-distribution variants.

Moirae: A Multimodal Agent Collaborative Framework for Dynamic Android Malware Detection

The Android ecosystem faces persistent and rapidly evolving malware threats. Existing machine learning detectors are vulnerable to concept drift because they rely on implementation-specific features whose distributions change over time. Large language models (LLMs) offer strong semantic understanding and zero-shot reasoning, but current LLM-based detectors typically depend on code-centric or single-dimensional evidence, making them susceptible to obfuscation and limiting comprehensive behavior analysis. We present Moirae, a multimodal agent collaborative framework for dynamic Android malware detection. Moirae dynamically collects multimodal runtime evidence and employs ReAct-based specialized agents to analyze complementary behavioral views. The detection process begins by identifying visual deception cues, modeling UI state transitions, and integrating runtime API behaviors to fuse multi-dimensional evidence across user-visible interfaces and hidden backend operations. Experiments on temporally and distributionally unseen datasets show that Moirae achieves an accuracy of 90.06\% without fine-tuning, outperforming state-of-the-art baselines and demonstrating strong zero-shot generalization against Android malware concept drift.

Modulating task outcome value to mitigate real-world procrastination via noninvasive brain stimulation

Procrastination represents one of the most prevalent behavioral problems associated with individual health and societal productivity. Despite its high prevalence and substantial impact on daily functioning, its underlying neurocognitive mechanisms remain poorly understood. A leading model posits that procrastination arises from imbalanced competing motivations: the avoidance of negative task aversiveness and the pursuit of positive task outcomes, yet this framework has not been fully validated in real-world settings and not applied effectively to guide interventions. Here, we addressed this gap with a double-blind, randomized controlled trial. We applied seven sessions of high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) in chronic procrastinators. Using the intensive experience sampling method (iESM), we assessed the effect of anodal HD-tDCS on real-world procrastination at offline after-effect (2-day interval) and long-term after-effect (6-month follow-up). We found that this neuromodulation produced a lasting reduction in real-world procrastination, with effects sustained at a 6-month follow-up. While the intervention is significantly associated with both decreased task aversiveness and increased perceived task outcome value, a mediation analysis indicated a disassociable mechanism: the increase in task outcome value (but not task aversiveness) showed a statistical pattern consistent with accounting for the observed behavioral improvement. In conclusion, the findings are consistent with the hypothesis that enhancing DLPFC function may reduce procrastination by selectively amplifying the valuation of future rewards, not by simply reducing negative feelings about the task. These results align with established decision-theoretic frameworks and suggest a targeted, theory-informed avenue for future behavioral interventions.

False vacuum decay catalyzed by black hole in a heat bath

We study false vacuum decay catalyzed by black holes. We consider a scalar field model with unstable potential in the background of a dilaton black hole in two dimensions. The model reproduces many features of the Schwarzschild black hole background in four dimensions, including the centrifugal barrier for linearized field perturbations. We study decays from the non-equilibrium state describing the evaporating black hole immersed in the thermal bath with a different temperature. We analytically construct the tunneling solution relevant at small field excitations and evaluate the decay suppression. We show how they reduce to those for the Hartle-Hawking (equilibrium) and Unruh states in the corresponding limits. For large field excitations the decay proceeds via stochastic activation; we find the relevant non-thermal sphaleron configuration in a certain region of parameters of the model and construct the semiclassical solution describing tunneling onto this sphaleron. Our results provide insights into the vacuum decay induced by small primordial black holes in the radiation-dominated era of the universe.

SG-GAN: Fine Stereoscopic-Aware Generation for 3D Brain Point Cloud Up-sampling from a Single Image

In minimally-invasive brain surgeries with indirect and narrow operating environments, 3D brain reconstruction is crucial. However, as requirements of accuracy for some new minimally-invasive surgeries (such as brain-computer interface surgery) are higher and higher, the outputs of conventional 3D reconstruction, such as point cloud (PC), are facing the challenges that sample points are too sparse and the precision is insufficient. On the other hand, there is a scarcity of high-density point cloud datasets, which makes it challenging to train models for direct reconstruction of high-density brain point clouds. In this work, a novel model named stereoscopic-aware graph generative adversarial network (SG-GAN) with two stages is proposed to generate fine high-density PC conditioned on a single image. The Stage-I GAN sketches the primitive shape and basic structure of the organ based on the given image, yielding Stage-I point clouds. The Stage-II GAN takes the results from Stage-I and generates high-density point clouds with detailed features. The Stage-II GAN is capable of correcting defects and restoring the detailed features of the region of interest (ROI) through the up-sampling process. Furthermore, a parameter-free-attention-based free-transforming module is developed to learn the efficient features of input, while upholding a promising performance. Comparing with the existing methods, the SG-GAN model shows superior performance in terms of visual quality, objective measurements, and performance in classification, as demonstrated by comprehensive results measured by several evaluation metrics including PC-to-PC error and Chamfer distance.

Reconstructing human activities via coupling mobile phone data with location-based social networks

In the era of big data, the ubiquity of location-aware portable devices provides an unprecedented opportunity to understand inhabitants' behavior and their interactions with the built environments. Among the widely used data resources, mobile phone data is the one passively collected and has the largest coverage in the population. However, mobile operators cannot pinpoint one user within meters, leading to the difficulties in activity inference. To that end, we propose a data analysis framework to identify user's activity via coupling the mobile phone data with location-based social networks (LBSN) data. The two datasets are integrated into a Bayesian inference module, considering people's circadian rhythms in both time and space. Specifically, the framework considers the pattern of arrival time to each type of facility and the spatial distribution of facilities. The former can be observed from the LBSN Data and the latter is provided by the points of interest (POIs) dataset. Taking Shanghai as an example, we reconstruct the activity chains of 1,000,000 active mobile phone users and analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics of each activity type. We assess the results with some official surveys and a real-world check-in dataset collected in Shanghai, indicating that the proposed method can capture and analyze human activities effectively. Next, we cluster users' inferred activity chains with a topic model to understand the behavior of different groups of users. This data analysis framework provides an example of reconstructing and understanding the activity of the population at an urban scale with big data fusion.

3D Brain Reconstruction by Hierarchical Shape-Perception Network from a Single Incomplete Image

3D shape reconstruction is essential in the navigation of minimally-invasive and auto robot-guided surgeries whose operating environments are indirect and narrow, and there have been some works that focused on reconstructing the 3D shape of the surgical organ through limited 2D information available. However, the lack and incompleteness of such information caused by intraoperative emergencies (such as bleeding) and risk control conditions have not been considered. In this paper, a novel hierarchical shape-perception network (HSPN) is proposed to reconstruct the 3D point clouds (PCs) of specific brains from one single incomplete image with low latency. A branching predictor and several hierarchical attention pipelines are constructed to generate point clouds that accurately describe the incomplete images and then complete these point clouds with high quality. Meanwhile, attention gate blocks (AGBs) are designed to efficiently aggregate geometric local features of incomplete PCs transmitted by hierarchical attention pipelines and internal features of reconstructing point clouds. With the proposed HSPN, 3D shape perception and completion can be achieved spontaneously. Comprehensive results measured by Chamfer distance and PC-to-PC error demonstrate that the performance of the proposed HSPN outperforms other competitive methods in terms of qualitative displays, quantitative experiment, and classification evaluation.

A Point Cloud Generative Model via Tree-Structured Graph Convolutions for 3D Brain Shape Reconstruction

Fusing medical images and the corresponding 3D shape representation can provide complementary information and microstructure details to improve the operational performance and accuracy in brain surgery. However, compared to the substantial image data, it is almost impossible to obtain the intraoperative 3D shape information by using physical methods such as sensor scanning, especially in minimally invasive surgery and robot-guided surgery. In this paper, a general generative adversarial network (GAN) architecture based on graph convolutional networks is proposed to reconstruct the 3D point clouds (PCs) of brains by using one single 2D image, thus relieving the limitation of acquiring 3D shape data during surgery. Specifically, a tree-structured generative mechanism is constructed to use the latent vector effectively and transfer features between hidden layers accurately. With the proposed generative model, a spontaneous image-to-PC conversion is finished in real-time. Competitive qualitative and quantitative experimental results have been achieved on our model. In multiple evaluation methods, the proposed model outperforms another common point cloud generative model PointOutNet.
