New Interpretation for the Observed Cosmological Redshifts and its Implications

The cosmological redshifts z in the frequencies of spectral lines from distant galaxies as compared with their values observed in terrestrial laboratories, which are due to the scale factor a(t), frequently are interpret as a special-relativistic Doppler shift alone. We will demonstrate that this interpretation is not correct and that the contribution of the gravitational redshift is always present and significant. We will show that the gravitational redshift is actually about the same magnitude as the cosmological redshift, but that only for cosmological models without the dark energy component cosmological and gravitational redshift can be considered to be the same. Significant contribution of the gravitational redshift due to the gravitational field of the Universe, which is ignored in interpretation of the observational data, could have significant impact on cosmological theories. We will first calculate contributions of gravitational redshift to CMB and time dilation of Type Ia supernovae, and use it to explain the excess redshifts of quasars and active galaxies, and redshifts of companion galaxies of stars. We will show its possible implications on the interpretation of mass density of matter and mass as function of cosmological time. Finally we will demonstrate that taking into account gravitational redshift allows to interpret luminosity distance and surface brightness of distant galaxies to be consistent with the static universe cosmological models.

A New Cosmological Model for the Visible Universe and its Implications

Assuming that the universe is homogenous and isotropic and applying Gauss' flux theorem for gravity, it follows that the gravitational field of the visible universe can be calculated as if the entire mass of the visible universe is located in one point. Taking into account that the mass of the visible universe is M=2x10^{53} kg, it appears that the entire visible universe is inside a {\it photon sphere} of radius R_{ps} = 14.3 Gpc. The current model for the visible universe must be corrected to account for the fact that measured horizon distance of 14.0 \pm 0.2 Gpc is not a straight line. Rather it is an arc of a circle with that length, because all photons are inside the photon sphere. Our model interprets the visible universe as a surface of a sphere (or an inside of a sphere shell) with radius 4.46 \pm 0.06 Gpc and an event horizon, located on that sphere (shell), with size of 14.0 \pm 0.2 Gpc. The model predicts CMB redshift and time dilatation of Type Ia supernovae by gravitation. It explains, without inflation theory, the isotropy and uniformity of the CMB. It predicts the correct value for the Hubble constant H_0 = 67.26 \pm 0.90 km/s/Mpc, the cosmic expansion rate H(z) in agreement with observations, and the speed of the event horizon. Through relativistic energy correction, our model also provides an explanation for critical density without use of dark matter. It explains that Type Ia supernovae redshifts are not related to the accelerated expansion of the universe and dark energy. It explains the reason for the established discrepancy between the non-covariant version of the holographic principle and the calculated dimensionless entropy (S/k) for the visible universe, which exceeds the entropy of a black hole. The model is in agreement with the distribution of radio sources in space, Type Ia data, and data from the HUDF optical and near-infrared survey.

Disappearance of Quantum Chaos in Coupled Chaotic Quantum Dots

Statistical properties of the single electron levels confined in the semiconductor (InAs/GaAs, Si/SiO2) double quantum dots (DQDs) are considered. We demonstrate that in the electronically coupled chaotic quantum dots the chaos with its level repulsion disappears and the nearest neighbor level statistics becomes Poissonian. This result is discussed in the light of the recently predicted "huge conductance peak" by R.S. Whitney at al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 102}, 186802 (2009)) in the mirror symmetric DQDs.

The property of the set of the real numbers generated by a Gelfond-Schneider operator and the countability of all real numbers

Considered will be properties of the set of real numbers $\Re$ generated by an operator that has form of an exponential function of Gelfond-Schneider type with rational arguments. It will be shown that such created set has cardinal number equal to ${\aleph_0}^{\aleph_0}=c$. It will be also shown that the same set is countable. The implication of this contradiction to the countability of the set of real numbers will be discussed.

Remarks on Cantor's diagonalization proof of 1891

Remarks on the Cantor's nondenumerability proof of 1891 that the real numbers are noncountable will be given. By the Cantor's diagonal procedure, it is not possible to build numbers that are different from all numbers in a general assumed denumerable sequence of all real numbers. The numbers created on the diagonal of the assumed sequence are not different from the numbers in the assumed denumerable sequence or they do not belong to that sequence.

Countability of the Real Numbers

The proofs that the real numbers are denumerable will be shown, i.e., that there exists one-to-one correspondence between the natural numbers $N$ and the real numbers $\Re$. The general element of the sequence that contains all real numbers will be explicitly specified, and the first few elements of the sequence will be written. Remarks on the Cantor's nondenumerability proofs of 1873 and 1891 that the real numbers are noncountable will be given.
