Polar gravitational perturbations and quasinormal modes of a loop quantum gravity black hole

In this work, we have calculated the polar gravitational quasinormal modes for a quantum corrected black hole model, that arises in the context of Loop Quantum Gravity, known as Self-Dual Black Hole. In this way, we have calculated the characteristic frequencies using the WKB approach, where we can verify a strong dependence with the Loop Quantum Gravity parameters. At the same time we check that the Self-Dual Black Hole is stable under polar gravitational perturbations, we can also verify that the spectrum of the polar quasinormal modes differs from the axial one \cite{Cruz:2015bcj}. Such a result tells us that isospectrality is broken in the context of Self Dual Black Holes.

Loop quantum cosmology on a brane via holography

In this letter, we demonstrate that Loop Quantum Cosmology equations, with a near vanishing late time cosmological constant, can be induced on a brane in a Randall-Sundrum II scenario, corresponding to the holographic dual of a strongly coupled string regime in the bulk. Such results can establish a possible connection between Loop Quantum Gravity and string theory.

Gravitational axial perturbations and quasinormal modes of loop quantum black holes

Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG) is a theory that proposes a way to model the behavior of the spacetime in situations where its atomic characteristic arises. Among these situations, the spacetime behavior near the Big Bang or black hole's singularity. The detection of gravitational waves, on the other hand, has opened the way to new perspectives in the investigation of the spacetime structure. In this work, by the use of a WKB method introduced by Schutz and Will \cite{Schutz:1985zz}, and after improved by Iyer and Will \cite{s.iyer-prd35}, we study the gravitational wave spectrum emitted by loop quantum black holes, which correspond to a quantized version of the Schwarzschild spacetime by LQG techniques. From the results obtained, loop quantum black holes have been shown stable under axial gravitational perturbations.

Entropic corrected Newton's law of gravitation and the Loop Quantum Black Hole gravitational atom

One proposal by Verlinde \cite{Verlinde:2010hp} is that gravity is not a fundamental, but an entropic force. In this way, Verlinde has provide us with a way to derive the Newton's law of gravitation from the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy-area formula. On the other hand, since it has been demonstrated that this formula is susceptible to quantum gravity corrections, one may hope that these corrections could be inherited by the Newton's law. In this way, the entropic interpretation of Newton's law could be a prolific way in order to get verifiable or falsifiable quantum corrections to ordinary gravity in an observationally accessible regimes. Loop quantum gravity is a theory that provide a way to approach the quantum properties of spacetime. From this theory, emerges a quantum corrected semiclassical black hole solution called loop quantum black holes or self-dual black holes. Among the interesting features of loop quantum black holes is the fact that they give rise to a modified entropy-area relation where quantum gravity corrections are present. In this work, we obtain the quantum corrected Newton's law from the entropy-area relation given by loop quantum black holes. In order to relate our results with the recent experimental activity, we consider the quantum mechanical properties of a huge gravitational atom consisting in a light neutral elementary particle in the presence of a loop quantum black hole.

On the holographic basis of Quantum Cosmology

Based upon the holographic principle, Jacobson demonstrated that the spacetime can be viewed as a gas of atoms with a related entropy given by the Bekenstein-Hawking formula. Following this argument, Friedmann equations can be derived by using Clausius relation to the apparent horizon of Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe. Loop Quantum Gravity is a propose to description of the spacetime behavior in situations where its atomic characteristic arises. Among these situations, the behavior of our universe near the Big Bang singularity is described by Loop Quantum Cosmology (LQC). However, a derivation of the LQC equations based on the Bekenstein bound is lacking. In this work, we obtain the quantum corrected Friedmann equations from the entropy-area relation given by loop quantum black holes (LQBH), setting a still absent connection between holographic and LQC descriptions of the cosmos. Connections with braneworld cosmology have been also addressed.

A note on the fuzzy sphere area spectrum, black hole luminosity, and the quantum nature of spacetime

Non-commutative corrections to the classical expression for the fuzzy sphere area are found out through the asymptotic expansion for its heat kernel trace. As an important consequence, some quantum gravity deviations in the luminosity of black holes must appear. We calculate these deviations for a static, spherically symmetric, black-hole with a horizon modeled by a fuzzy sphere. The results obtained could be verified through the radiation of black holes formed in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

Vector and fermion fields on a bouncing brane with a decreasing warp factor in a string-like defect

In a recent work, a model has been proposed where a brane is made of a scalar field with bounce-type configurations and embedded in a bulk with a string-like metric. This model produces an AdS scenario where the components of the energy momentum tensor are finite and have its positivity ensured by a suitable choice of the bounce configurations. In the present work, we study the issue of gauge and fermion field localization in this scenario. In contrast with the five dimensional case here the gauge field is localized without the dilaton contribution. Nevertheless, it is remarkable that the localization of the fermion field depends on the introduction of a minimal coupling with the angular component of the gauge field, which differs clearly from five dimensional scenarios. Furthermore, we perform a qualitative analysis of the fermionic massive modes and conclude that only left handed fermions could be localized in the brane.

Brane bounce-type configurations in a string-like scenario

Brane world six dimensional scenarios with string like metric has been proposed to alleviate the problem of field localization. However, these models have been suffering from some drawbacks related with energy conditions as well as from difficulties to find analytical solutions. In this work, we propose a model where a brane is made of a scalar field with bounce-type configurations and embedded in a bulk with a string-like metric. This model produces a sound AdS scenario where none of the important physical quantities is infinite. Among these quantities are the components of the energy momentum tensor, which have its positivity ensured by a suitable choice of the bounce configurations. Another advantage of this model is that the warp factor can be obtained analytically from the equations of motion for the scalar field, obtaining as a result a thick brane configuration, in a six dimensional context. Moreover, the study of the scalar field localization in these scenario is done.

The black-hole area spectrum in the tunneling formalism with GUP

The black hole area spectrum has been studied in the framework of tunneling mechanism, where a Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) has been considered. The results implies in a non evenly spaced spectrum for the black hole area which becomes increasingly spaced as the black hole evaporates.

A note on black hole entropy, area spectrum, and evaporation

We argue that a process where a fuzzy space splits in two others can be used to explain the origin of the black hole entropy, and why a "generalized second law of thermodynamics" appears to hold in the presence of black holes. We reach the Bekenstein-Hawking formula from the count of the microstates of a black hole modeled by a fuzzy space. In this approach, a discrete area spectrum for the black hole, which becomes increasingly spaced as the black hole approaches the Planck scale, is obtained. We show that, as a consequence of this, the black hole radiation becomes less and less entropic as the black hole evaporates, in a way that some information about its initial state could be recovered.

Antisymmetric tensor matter fields in a curved space-time

An analysis about the antisymmetric tensor matter fields Avdeev-Chizhov theory in a curved space-time is performed. We show, in a curved spacetime, that the Avdeev-Chizhov theory can be seen as a kind of a $λϕ^{4}$ theory for a "complex self-dual" field. This relationship between Avdeev-Chizhov theory and $λϕ^{4}$ theory simplify the study of tensor matter fields in a curved space-time. The energy-momentum tensor for matter fields is computed.
