Asymptotic formula for the solution of the Stokes problem with a small perturbation of the domain in two and three dimensions

In this paper we consider the resolvent Stokes problem in the case there is a small perturbation of the domain caused by a perturbed boundary. Firstly, we prove that the solution of Stokes problem is continuous due to this small perturbation. Secondly, we derive the first-order term in the displacement field perturbation that due to the deformation of the domain. It is worth emphasizing that even though only the first-order term is given, our method enables us to derive higher-order terms as well. The derivation is rigorous and based on layer potential techniques.

On a hyperbolic coefficient inverse problem via partial dynamic boundary measurements

This paper is devoted to the identification of the unknown smooth coefficient c entering the hyperbolic equation $c(x)\partial_{t}^{2}u - Δu = 0$ in a bounded smooth domain in $\R^{d}$ from partial (on part of the boundary) dynamic boundary measurements. In this paper we prove that the knowledge of the partial Cauchy data for this class of hyperbolic PDE on any open subset $Γ$ of the boundary determines explicitly the coefficient $c$ provided that $c$ is known outside a bounded domain. Then, through construction of appropriate test functions by a geometrical control method, we derive a formula for calculating the coefficient $c$ from the knowledge of the difference between the local Dirichlet to Neumann maps.
