Quantum Features of Vacuum Flux Impact: An Interpretation of Quantum Phenomena

Special relativity combined with the stochastic vacuum flux impact model lead to an explicit interpretation of many of the phenomena of elementary quantum mechanics. We examine characteristics of a repetitively impacted submicroscopic particle in conjunction with examination of the ways in which effects associated with the particle's behavior appear in moving frames of reference. As seen from relatively moving frames of reference, the time and location of impacts and recoils automatically exhibit wave behavior. This model leads to free particle waves with frequencies proportional to the energy and wavelengths inversely proportional to the momentum. As seen from relatively moving frames of reference, impacts and their associated recoils can appear to an observer to take place simultaneously at multiple locations in space. For superposed free particle waves corresponding to bidirectional motion, an amplitude that varies sinusoidally with distance results. A governing equation identical in form to the Schroedinger equation is developed that describes the behavior of the impacts and their associated recoils. This approach permits many features of quantum mechanics to be examined within an intuitively visualizable framework.

Examining the Origin of Cosmic Rays: A New Conceptual Approach

A new conceptual approach for examining the origin of cosmic rays is developed by considering the characteristics of particle trajectory distributions in four-dimensional Euclidean space-time. Transformation of an isotropic distribution into a velocity distribution in ordinary three-dimensional space results in a spatially isotropic flux of highly relativistic particles. This particle flux exhibits a power-law energy spectrum that decreases with increasing energy approximately inversely as the square of the energy and peaks at much lower energies. This model also provides additional results resembling the observed characteristics of cosmic radiation.

An elementary approach to quantum gravity based on a flux model of a physical vacuum

Interactions with ordinary matter of a flux of high-speed uncharged dark matter particles pervasively present in space are examined. In this model, we find that the property of matter that we designate as mass becomes a measure of the interaction cross section of ordinary matter with the flux of dark matter. From this model emerge both a flux-mediated attractive inverse-square force between particles of ordinary matter as well as a characteristic nondeterministic behavior of ordinary matter that originates from statistical variations in the flux. The occurrence of effects similar to gravitational phenomena and effects similar to quantum phenomena in this model may enable a straightforward examination of the convergence of gravitational physics and quantum mechanics.

Dark matter and the origin of mass: a simplified semiclassical approach

The pervasive presence in space of a flux of high-speed, electrically uncharged dark matter particles is examined here for potential consequences. Dark matter interactions with ordinary matter are considered, and a model of the dark matter flux is developed. In this model, the property of matter that we designate as mass is a measure of the interaction cross section of ordinary matter with the flux of dark matter. From this model emerge effects similar to certain quantum phenomena, and also a flux-mediated attractive inverse-square force between particles of ordinary matter. The occurrence of effects resembling both quantum phenomena and effects resembling gravitational phenomena in this model may enable a straightforward examination of convergence of gravitational physics and quantum mechanics.
