Two-Component Dark Matter in the Type-I 2HDM

We investigate a two-component dark matter scenario in the type-I two-Higgs-doublet model. The dark sector contains a real scalar $s$ and a Dirac fermion $χ$, whose stability is ensured by a $Z_4$ symmetry together with kinematic conditions. The scalar interacts with the visible sector through Higgs-portal couplings, while the fermion interacts with the scalar via Yukawa interactions. In this framework, we analyze the thermal freeze-out production of both candidates, accounting for annihilation, conversion, and semi-annihilation processes. A comprehensive scan over the multidimensional parameter space is performed in terms of physical masses, mixing angles, and portal couplings, imposing theoretical requirements such as perturbativity and vacuum stability. We confront the model with current experimental constraints, including the observed relic abundance, invisible Higgs decays, direct detection limits on spin-independent scattering cross sections, and electroweak precision observables. We find that viable regions of parameter space can satisfy all dark matter constraints, but collider bounds strongly constrain the scalar sector, narrowing the allowed regions and creating tension with those favored by dark matter phenomenology, particularly in the sub-TeV mass regime.

SModelS v3: Going Beyond Z2 Topologies

SModelS is a public tool for fast reinterpretation of LHC searches for new physics based on a large database of simplified model results. While previous versions were limited to models with a Z2-type symmetry, such as R-parity conserving supersymmetry, version 3 can now handle arbitrary signal topologies. To this end, the tool was fully restructured and now relies on a graph-based description of simplified model topologies. In this work, we present the main conceptual changes and novel features of SModelS v3, together with the inclusion of new experimental searches for resonant production of spin-1 and spin-0 mediators with decays to quarks or to dark matter. Applying these results to a model containing two mediators, we discuss the interplay of resonance and missing energy searches, and the model's coverage by the currently available simplified model results.

Knowledge Ratings in MetaboLights

This technical report presents an evaluation of the ontology annotations in the metadata of a subset of entries of MetaboLights, a database for Metabolomics experiments and derived information. The work includes a manual analysis of the entries and a comprehensive qualitative evaluation of their annotations, together with the evaluation guide and its rationale, that was defined and followed. The approach was also implemented as a software script that given a MetaboLights entry returns a quantitative evaluation of the quality of its annotations (available on request).
