Normalization of Puiseux Hypersurfaces

It is known that the normalization of a quasi-ordinary complex singularity is a Hirzebruch-Jung, see [Gon00; Pop04; AS05]. We extend this result to Puiseux hypersurfaces. Moreover, we prove that Hirzebruch-Jung singularities are precisely normalizations of Puiseux hypersurfaces. Our result holds over an algebraically closed field whose characteristic does not divide the degree of the polynomial defining the hypersurface. Finally, in the analytic complex case, we conclude that the normalization of an irreducible Puiseux hypersurface is the normalization of a complex analytic quasi-ordinary singularity.

The embedded Nash problem of birational models of rational triple singularities

We consider the question whether one can construct an embedded resolution of singularities of a singular variety $X\subset \textbf{A}^n$ from the data of the irreducible components of the spaces of jets (of $X$) centered at the singular locus of $X.$ We show that the answer is no in general and that it is yes for some birational models of rational triple surface singularities.

Jet schemes and minimal toric embedded resolutions of rational double point singularities

Using the structure of the jet schemes of rational double point singularities, we construct "minimal embedded toric resolutions" of these singularities. We also establish, for these singularities, a correspondence between a natural class of irreducible components of the jet schemes centered at the singular locus and the set of divisors which appear on every "minimal embedded toric resolution". We prove that this correspondence is bijective except for the $E_8$ singulartiy. This can be thought as an embedded Nash correspondence for rational double point singularities.

The Nash problem of arcs and the rational double point $\mathbf{E_6}$

This paper deals with the Nash problem, which consists in proving that the number of families of arcs on a singular germ of a surface $S$ coincides with the number of irreducible components of the exceptional divisor in the minimal resolution of this singularity. We propose a program for an affirmative solution of the Nash problem in the case of normal 2-dimensional hypersurface singularities. We illustrate this program by giving an affirmative solution of the Nash problem for the rational double point $\mathbf{E_6}$. We also prove some results on the algebraic structure of the space of $k$-jets of an arbitrary hypersurface singularity and apply them to the specific case of $\mathbf{E_6}$.
